Best places to stay in Bath, United Kingdom #cheap #hotel #sites

#bath hotels

#

One of the jewels of England, Bath’s Roman and Georgian history are everywhere, whether you want to simply enjoy being surrounded by some of the best architecture in the world or to more closely examine the city s fascinating past. Our pick of the best places to stay in Bath are mostly centrally located and all make an ideal base for exploring this beautiful city. For those who’d prefer an apartment, we recommend the selection from our online partner, Booking.com .

Sites such as the ravishing Pulteney Bridge which, like Florence s Ponte Vecchio, was designed for practicality as well as beauty with built in shops. It s the perfect place to visit if one of you prefers sipping cappuccinos to history.

The Roman Baths from which the city takes its name were built by the Romans around the only hot spring in Britain and are still filled with natural warm water. As well as audio guides in eight languages the admission fee includes guides specially for children in both English and French. Genius.

The Fashion Museum s 150 figures chart fashion from the late 16th century to the present day. There are exhibits of menswear, womenswear, day and evening wear and alternative fashion. You can even try on a crinoline at the Corsets and Crinolines display.

Bath is hilly which you should bear in mind if walking is a problem. It can be tricky for motorists too so if you are driving, it is advisable to make sure your hotel has parking.

This entrancing city has a vast choice of places to stay. There are dozens of smaller hotels in 18th century houses, handsome from the outside, though sometimes rather cramped within. And the historical vibe (Beau Brummel, Jane Austen, etc.) tempts some hoteliers to adopt a deadly repro/chintzy style. Beware.

But don’t forget that it’s very busy – year round! If you want to ensure a room in one of the best places to stay in Bath, you’ll need to plan ahead and book well in advance.

Smaller Hotels

The following are small hotels which avoid camping up the history and are strongly recommended as some of the best places to stay in Bath.

  • Centrally yet quietly located, The Kennard boasts ornate decor and Jane Austen inspired garden. The helpful owners attention to detail and delicious breakfasts prepared with ingredients sourced from local farms make it deservedly popular.
  • Harrington’s Hotel is an excellent value option a stone’s throw from all the major attractions. It’s great for families too with a couple of self catering apartments across the road. Best of all, it’s got its own parking (albeit a couple of minutes walk away)!
  • The Queensberry is a chic privately owned townhouse hotel occupying several houses in a Georgian terrace. Smart and modern it is handy for the Fashion Museum being directly opposite the Assembly Rooms.
  • The Halcyon is a great choice if you want somewhere a bit funky and buzzy in the city centre. There is a cocktail bar and if you want to eat breakfast downstairs and not in bed you ll pay extra. As if.

Super smart places to stay in Bath

In the upper echelons of price and grandeur, competition is fierce and the Big Three; the Bath Priory, Bath Spa and Royal Crescent, have each splashed out heavily on spa facilities. All would also claim to be high up there amongst the best places to stay in Bath.

  • Highly recommended, is the Bath Priory. though it is just on the edge of the city and not in the centre. Decorated in traditional English country house style, it has an award-winning Michelin-starred restaurant, indoor and outdoor pools, glorious four acre gardens which also supply the kitchen with vegetables and extremely comfortable and luxurious rooms and bathrooms. Bath is quite small so the centre of the city is easily accessible from the hotel.
  • The well-known Royal Crescent hotel is hard to beat if you are planning a treat. Situated right in the middle of one of the most jaw-droppingly impressive pieces of architecture in Britain, there is little chance of waking up here and wondering where you are. Effortlessly combining traditional and modern interiors it is a classy delight both inside and out. And the fabulously grown-up spa is a child-free zone.
  • Of the three, the Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel can’t be ignored, but is hard to really love. Standing in seven acres of formal grounds, it is competent, imposing and slightly dull, though its spa facilities are excellent.

For a city centre apartment

  • If you don’t think that any of our picks of hotels or B Bs fits the bill, how about an aparmtent? You can find a good selection with our online partner, Booking.com .

Browse through our list of the best places to stay in Bath and start to plan your stay. Please feel free to call or email a friendly guru for advice. Contact

experience Phuket

Phuket

Being one of Thailand’s most famous islands, Phuket is positioned off the southern coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea, featuring the golden sands, calm blue waters, and coconut palms associated with the perfect tropical vacation. Phuket Town is the island’s main commercial area, and accommodation in the city center is cheap.

Phuket’s most popular resort area is Patong. Fully redeveloped after the 2004 tsunami, Patong’s main roads are lined with restaurants, shops, and countless bars and clubs. The nightlife here is legendary in Asia, and many book a hotel in Patong just to experience its lively after-hours scene.

South of Patong Beach is Karon Beach – a much quieter town with shops, restaurants, and bars that cater specifically to tourists. Kamala also offers a good range of accommodation and infrastructure with resorts becoming progressively more upscale towards Bang Thao, Surin, and Pansea beaches.

On the other side of the Phuket lay the islands of Koh Yao Yai. Koh Yao Noi, and Nakha Yai. Resorts on these islands assure secluded beaches and high levels of service.

Phuket is served by Phuket International Airport. about a 45-minute drive from Patong Beach and Phuket Town.

Find the most suitable accommodation for you by clicking on our interactive map and exploring Phuket for hotels and must-see destinations.

Traveler impressions of Phuket

I guess it was a wrong choice to visit Phuket city as there wasn t much to explore within city and.

considering the fact the places that we wanted to visit were situated far away from our hotel and taxi fares were too expensive. We visited Tiger Kingdom, Trick Eye Museum, Phi Phi Island, a bit of shopping at City Centre, Thalang, etc. May be next time if I come to visit Phuket, I’d prefer to stay at Patong beach instead.

Truth be known even though both of the hotels I stayed at were clean and comfortable, I doubt I will.

ever return to Phuket. The beaches are amazing, but there is garbage everywhere, and with the exeption of a few taxis, Tuk Tuks and restaraunts, the shopping and taxis at the Airport is way over-priced. It is more expensive than just about everywhere else I visited, although the soup I got from the vendor stand across the alley from the family mart (accross the street and to the left from the airport) was some of the best soup I had in Thailand.

Phuket is blessed with many beautiful beaches and islands nearby. It also have good facilities and.

We ve stayed at 2 hotels in Phuket one is in Patong and the other one is in Laguna. The difference.

about the two is that Patong would cater more from the young adults to a more mature crowd, who wanted to party and experience the local food. As for Laguna this would cater to families and business men as this is more laid back and more on the upper class as it’s a little bit more expensive than the usual hotels in Patong.

You love it or not. You can go for partying or with your family and enjoy a calm stay with enjoying.

Shops Like Motel Rocks

Wow, am I the only one who likes Motel Rocks?

By Stacey on 7th February 2015

Very surprised to be reading all the negative reviews. I had a great shopping experience with Motel Rocks. Needed my dress to arrive on time for a photoshoot so I wrote in the comments, “If I receive this in 10 working days, I will forever love Motel Rocks.”
1) It arrived in 10 working days (to the US)!
2) I love my dress! Looks just as it does on the website.
3) The invoice had a 🙂 drawn next to my comment, so someone there is fulfilling comment requests!

TRY ASOS INSTEAD

By Kathryn Allen on 6th September 2014

Honestly the most appalling service I have received from an online store, ever. There are a number of reasons I will never order from Motel Rocks again.

– My order took 11 days to arrive. It took them ages to even ship the parcel, so I emailed and tweeted them and they told me there was a delay in deliveries because they were going through a “system changeover”. I’m a reasonable person so I felt the excuse was fair enough, however had it been any other more professional retailer, an email would have been sent to me notifying me of this, rather than me having to approach them. There was nothing on the check out page about possible delayed delivery.

– After being forgiving of the fact that it took ages to come, I was once again left infuriated as my parcel was missing a dress. I checked the invoice and there was a line through that item. I assumed that the item was out of stock (I don’t understand how I managed to order it f it was out of stock but there we are). Again, no email to notify me of this order change, and when I checked my account no refund had been issued. So I was now in a position where I had paid for an item I hadn’t received.

– I then noticed that on the invoice the item that had been crossed out was stated on the invoice as an XS. I thought it was strange as I would never order an XS so I double checked on the website and in my order history it said I had ordered a medium. So there is a chance that that item might have actually been in stock at the time, but they messed it up.

– I also paid £19 for a dress from the Motel Rocks sale, but on the actual label of the dress it said that it was reduced to £18. I know there’s not much in a pound but they must be making a nice profit if they’re doing something similar to every customer.

I tweeted them multiple times asking for help, and they chose to ignore all my tweets whilst replying to other users. I also emailed their customer service department and again found myself being ignored. I finally had to use their website chat service to talk to some useless person who told me they would issue a refund that day and gave me some pointless discount code for £10 off my next order (I say pointless because I will NEVER order with them again). The refund was in fact issued the day after.

I seriously wouldn’t bother with Motel Rocks, perhaps try ASOS instead.

By Anonymous on 1st September 2014

I ordered a bag off motel rocks and payed EXTRA for it to come in 48 hours. It has now been a week since i ordered and i had no emails at all telling me what was happening with my parcel. So i had to call them up and they said its been shipped today and that it’ll be here in 2-5 working days. Which means it’ll have taken 2 weeks for my parcel to come! i am disgusted as i needed it for a festival and now its passed. I will not be ordering from them again, definitely not reliable.

Terrible customer service

By Anonymous on 9th July 2014

As a loyal customer to motel rocks I am shocked with the terrible customer service. I sent back multiple items and had planned on repurchasing something else in a different size/colour with the refund money. I was told 7-10 working days for the refund. On the 12th day I emailed telling them about the situation and I was told 7-10 working days again… Clearly couldn’t read as I had told them the amount of days I had been waiting already. Two more days past without my refund I emailed them and another two days past without even an email acknowledging me. Yet another email, this one not as nice telling them how shocking I am with the terrible service and that I wanted a phone number where I could phone and make a formal complaint. It is another 4 days later and I have no refund and no reply from the email telling me why this is, or an apology of any sort or with a number to complain. Will never order from this store again.

50 days to return money

By sarah on 26th January 2013

purchased various clothing from motel rocks and still waiting for refund on goods after 50days.

motel rocks have confirmed receipt of returns 3 weeks ago.

very poor customer service.

will never buy from there again.

A Whole New World Lyrics

I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
you last let your heart decide?

I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride

A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no or where to go
Or say we’re only dreaming

A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I’m way up here, it’s crystal clear
That now I’m in a whole new world with you

Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feelings
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky

A whole new world
A hundred thousand things to see

I’m like a shooting star
I’ve come so far
I can’t go back
To where I used to be

A whole new world
With new horizons to pursue
I’ll chase them anywhere

There’s time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you

A whole new world
That’s where we’ll be
A thrilling chase
A wondrous place
For you and me

Writen By: Alan Menken (music) and Tim Rice (lyrics).

How to Find the Best Berlin Hotels with Venere

Willkommen! Sprechen Sie Deutsch? Well, even if you do not speak German, taking a trip to Berlin for a European getaway is still an excellent choice. As the capital of Germany, Berlin is a tourist’s dream destination. With ample opportunities to experience German culture, diverse food, and a myriad of attractions, Berlin has something special to offer everyone who steps foot within the city. You can find the best Berlin hotels in Germany with Venere. Venere shows you photographs of the hotel and rooms before you reserve a room, so you know precisely what you are getting. Furthermore, each hotel has been rated and reviewed by previous guests, who can offer you valuable insights. A handy map is also available to help you find your way to your hotel as well as nearby attractions.

What’s Berlin Like?

Versatile and multi-faceted, Berlin is home to attractions that will appeal to every visitor’s personality and lifestyle. From planetariums, landscaped parks, and world-renowned zoos to visiting the seat of the German Parliament and government, there are plenty of delightful attractions for everyone. Attractions are located close to many Berlin hotels. Music, publishing, and film are extremely popular in the city of Berlin, as Berlin is considered the center of Germany’s film industry. If you are interested in cinema, don’t miss the opportunity to see it in Berlin. Speaking of travel, it’s easy for tourists to get around while visiting Berlin. Guests can tour the city in an open double-decker bus, take a personal cab or taxi, hop on a local bus, or enjoy a more adventuresome means of transportation such as trams and underground trains. You could take a tour along the 120 miles of navigable waters aboard a boat. If being miles above the city is more your speed, private companies offer visitors helicopter and small aircraft flights to take in the sights from a bird’s-eye view. Guests can also take a guided tour on bicycles, mopeds, or simply experience the city on foot. No trip to Berlin would be complete without visiting the wall that divided this city for more than 20 years during the Cold War or a visit to Checkpoint Charlie, where the American and Soviet zones met in the heart of downtown Berlin.

Getting Along with the Locals

When you first check in at your Berlin hotel, you can expect a vastly different cultural experience from most other European cities you may have visited. Many guests and natives have called Berlin “addictive.” Once you arrive, you won’t want to leave! This larger-than-life city’s energy is almost palpable. Berlin is home to native citizens from all over the world, which adds to its different and unique appeal. Ethnic and cultural diversity enriches the city, but it also establishes some definitive societal rules and skills. While shopping or dining, be sure to have cash, as credit cards are not readily accepted. Be sure to introduce yourself to the people you meet rather than wait for an introduction. Finally, while beer and wine are common staples of most dining experiences, appearing intoxicated in public situations is frowned upon, even if it is rather common among younger people in the German capital. Whether you are a seasoned traveler or a novice, the city has plenty of incredible opportunities for everyone. Use Venere to book Berlin hotels and experience the various cafés, bars, and restaurants, shop the eclectic clothing stores, and expand your cultural horizons.

Berlin Hotels

A hub of creativity and packed with famous landmarks that have survived its turbulent past, the capital city of Germany, Berlin is a vibrant and fascinating city.

Historic Berlin

A popular stop for visitors is The Reichstag. a grand old building that’s home to the German parliament. The highlight is the Reichstag’s roof terrace and striking glass dome where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city. If you want to stay in the heart of the city, check out our range of Berlin hotels near the Reichstag .

From here, you can wander down to historic Brandenburg Gate and keep your camera at the ready to capture the Berlin’s most recognizable monument. Then on to the Holocaust Memorial (Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe). Visit this special place, anytime day or night, to remember the victims of the Holocaust. Explore the paths and concrete slabs which form the maze-like memorial. It you want to learn more, the underground exhibition room at the base of the memorial, is open 10am to 8pm.

During the Cold War, the Berlin Wall divided the city until that landmark year, in 1989, when most of the wall was quickly knocked down. All that remains is a small section known as the East Side Gallery which now stands as a symbol of the triumph of freedom over oppression. See the remaining wall, covered in over 100 murals depicting the political statements and artistic visions of international artists.

Shopping in Berlin City Centre

If shopping is on your agenda, head to Friedrichshain for unique boutiques run by Berlin-based designers or browse the vintage shops of Prenzlauer Berg. For music fans, Berlin is a great city to buy records at bargain prices. OyeRecords and Hard Wax are two of the best. If your luxury Berlin hotel is in Charlottenburg. you can browse high-end clothes designers and young labels at continental Europe’s largest department store, Kadewe .

Berlin after dark

As for Berlin after dark, you’re spoilt for choice. Go clubbing at great heights and hear DJs spin deep house at Weekend Club on the 12 th. 15 th and rooftop floors of Soviet tower block Haus Des Reisens . If you like to be spontaneous on a night out, head to the Prenzlauer Berg and Friedrichshain neighbourhoods of East Berlin where you’ll find plenty of hipster bars, cool clubs, live music venues and restaurants. Your best bet is to explore the streets surrounding Eberswalder Strasse U-Bahn in Prenzlauer Berg and Simon-Dach-Strasse in Friedrichshain. While you’re in the area, you can try your luck getting into one of the world’s best nightclubs, Berghain. Found on border of Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain, live acts and DJs pump out electronic music in this converted warehouse – it’s notoriously difficult to get in, so dress casually as the Berliners do. Find yourself a cheap Berlin hotel in Prenzlauer Berg to stay close to the action.

Best Berlin Hotels

Whether you’re a hipster or a history lover, Berlin is a city break destination that ticks every conceivable box. Its music scene is legendary – the clubs and bars setting trends that the rest of Europe follows – and artists and photographers flock here to soak up the city’s bohemian vibe. Then there’s the architecture, the wide squares, bustling boulevards, and ornate monuments, many lovingly reconstructed since the dark days of the war and the Berlin Wall. There are also tourist attractions aplenty – animal lovers in particular have to see Berlin Zoo, arguably the greatest of its kind in the world.

A sprawling public square, Alexanderplatz is one of the busiest hubs within the central Mitte district – it’s where you’ll find the unique World Time Clock, a curious cylinder topped with an intricate sculpture of an atom. Nearby is the Fernsehturm, or TV tower, which reaches almost 400 meters into the sky and affords visitors jaw-dropping views across Germany’s capital. As well as gazing out from the observation deck, you can also relax in the bar and restaurant. For world-class shopping, take a stroll down the Kurfuerstendamm, or Ku’damm as locals call it. This long and handsome boulevard is lined with independent boutiques, bars, and cafes, and is a must-see for any visitor. The Brandenburg Gate, meanwhile, is to Berlin what the Eiffel Tower is to Paris. A symbol of the city since the 18th Century, its vast columns and proud chariot sculpture have been a focal point for rallies and historic speeches for generations. Want to enjoy some drinks after a day’s sightseeing? Stroll over to Hackescher Markt, one of the city’s bohemian districts famed for its relaxed and colorful nightlife.

As one of Europe’s major capital cities, Berlin has hotels for every kind of traveler. There are plenty of high-end establishments offering indoor swimming pools, luxuriant spas, and massage treatments, and rooms fitted with sumptuous Egyptian sheets and antique furnishings. Equally, you can find quirky boutique hotels in Berlin done up in a more minimalist, Bauhaus-inspired style, as well as good, reliable cheap chains that will do the job if your priority is to work or sightsee, rather than spend time in the hotel itself.

For tourists and business travelers alike, the Mitte district is an ideal place to stay. It’s the very heart of the city, offering swift access to office complexes and top attractions like the city’s many museums clustered on the aptly-named Museum Island. Alternatively you can choose to book your Berlin hotel in the Charlottenburg district. This is best known for the handsome Baroque and Rococo sprawl of Charlottenburg Palace, which is well worth a visit if you’re in the area (or even if you’re not). Another enjoyable district is Prenzlauer Berg, which is a real social hotspot with enough pubs, restaurants, and galleries to keep you occupied for days.

Flying into Berlin? You may land at Tegel Airport, which is the largest hub for international travel in the area and is well located for the city – a taxi or bus ride will get you into the thick of things in no time. Budget airlines fly into Schoenefeld Airport, which is situated a bit further away from the city, while trains from every corner of Europe come into Berlin Central Station. A futuristic marvel of glass and steel, it’s an attraction in itself.

Best Hong Kong Hotels

A warren of people-filled pavements, jam-packed elevated walkways, canteen crammed streets, and towering skyscrapers, Hong Kong’s a full-on city that bustles 24/7. Designer shops jostle for attention alongside high street names in the city’s modern malls, traditional dim sum eateries fight for custom with street vendors brewing brisket beef soup, and market traders clamour and clatter as they try to sell wares. There’s also fine food to be had at top notch restaurants and a pumping party atmosphere to enjoy as the sky darkens.

Hong Kong’s Ferry Terminal is a bustling transport hub where ferries take passengers from the mainland to the island, boats bound for the islands bob along the rippling waters, and cruise ships dock for the day. It’s here you can take a ride on the iconic Star Ferry, a must-do when in town, and gaze back at the dazzling Hong Kong skyline with its striking skyscrapers, high-rise hotels, and towering apartment blocks. For a different view of the city, take the tram to the wok-shaped Victoria Peak Tower where the vistas are unbeatable. You can shop, eat, and drink here too at its modern mall. For evening entertainment, Soho’s steep, lively streets can’t be beaten. Ride the outdoor elevator past flashing neon-signage, buzzing bars, and crammed restaurants before jumping off when a place to party catches your eye. For a day of family-fun, the expansive Ocean Park is the place to be. Buckle up on thrill-inducing rides, marvel at marine life, and catch an animal show here.

Hotels in Hong Kong

The city may be pretty compact, but there’s no shortage of places to stay in Hong Kong. As well as its landmark luxury pads, of which there are many, you’ll also find plenty of mid-range accommodation here. Most of these will offer convenient amenities like flat-screen televisions, WiFi, and tea and coffee making facilities. With space in the crammed city at a premium, cheap hotels in Hong Kong are often pretty small, but provide an affordable base to explore the city’s many sights.

A stay in Hong Kong’s Central district will put you in the heart of the city where soaring skyscrapers loom large, modern malls buzz with shoppers, and steam-filled canteens fill with hungry diners. It’s here you’ll also find Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour with its ferries to the mainland and islands. Wan Chai is a party hotspot in the evenings and very lively, while Causeway Bay’s well geared to families with some of the city’s biggest shopping malls and the lush green of Victoria Park. For cheap hotels in Hong Kong, mainland Kowloon often offers the most affordable pads and is just a short ferry ride from all the island action.

Hong Kong International Airport’s a major transport hub and the most likely gateway for those arriving by air. You can reach the city center using the quick and efficient Airport Express train which takes just 24 minutes to Central Station. For a more scenic, and cheaper, journey into the city center, there are plenty of bus services which connect the city and airport via the Tsing Ma suspension bridge and offer sweeping views of Lantau Island.

    New York Hotels

    Shopping

From the designer flagship stores of Manhattan including Louis Vuitton, DKNY and Prada, to the flea markets and thrift stores of Brooklyn, New York is a shopper’s paradise. If you saved on a cheap New York hotel, this is the city to indulge in some retail therapy. Two of our favourite places are the world famous Bloomingdale’s department store in hip Soho, and the long-running Century 21 opposite the World Trade Centre site.

    Culture

Where to start when it comes to New York exhibitions? The Big Apple is home to some of the most well-known museums and galleries in the world. We recommend if you’re staying in a hotel near Central Park that you check out The Metropolitan Museum of Art (known as The Met), with its walls covering 17 acres of land and containing over 2 million individual objects. If you’re after something a little more downscale, then MoMA PS1 in New York’s Long Island City is for you. Affiliated with the Museum of Modern Art, this exhibition space is less about the classics and more about experimental art, showcasing up to 50 exhibitions a year.

    Bars, pubs and nightclubs

There’s a reason why New York is dubbed ‘The City That Never Sleeps’, you can choose from regular boozers to private cocktail bars, transported by the 24-hour subway lines. Many New York hotels have their own lounge bars but if you’re after a view of the NYC skyline, head to The Brass Monkey, set on the banks of the Hudson River. Then when it’s time to dance, move on to The Mean Fiddler, two floors of DJs, dancing and drinking.

    Tourist Attractions

New York City has some of the most iconic sights and attractions on the planet. From standing on top of the Empire State Building, to walking over the Brooklyn Bridge, strolling through Central Park on a hot summer day, or ice-skating in front of the Rockefeller building in winter, you’re never short of things to do when in the Big Apple. Make the most of your trip by planning your excursions beforehand. With New York CityPASS. you’ll gain access to six of the city’s most popular attractions. If that isn’t enough, soar through the skies above the city on a Big Apple Helicopter Tour.

    Food and Drink

New York is a foodie’s delight. With over eight million residents coming from every country in the world, it caters for every appetite. For fine dining head to The NoMad on Broadway, or if you want something more native, grab a slice from one of the hundred pizza-pie joints like Di Fara in Brooklyn. Your New York hotel’s concierge will be able to recommend some local hotspots.

Our Best Hotels in New York

Picking the best place to stay in New York can be tough with all the selection. To give you some help here are some of our top New York hotels offering amazing accommodation in a top location.

    Hotels in Belfast

BELFAST – THE PEARL OF NORTHERN IRELAND

Steeped in history, vibrant Belfast is a destination with a difference! Get to know this welcoming city with a stay at the upscale Radisson Blu Hotel, Belfast. Located near the city centre in the historic Gasworks area, the hotel is a great base for shopping, strolling through Belfast’s Victorian streets, exploring the countless traditional bars and trendy clubs, or taking a trip to the renowned Ulster Folk and Transport Museum.

As Northern Ireland’s largest city Belfast has always been a hub of trade and activity, building a solid foundation for the busy, happening city it is today. There’s no doubt it’s a first class place to jump into and explore and the contemporary Radisson Blu Hotel, Belfast, located in the bold and creative Gasworks area, is just a quick bus ride to the very heart of the action.

The city’s landmark architecture tells the story of its past – the Linen warehouses and shipyards add a historical reference to the stylish modern city Belfast is today. There’s something for everyone in Belfast from fascinating tours of the Murals and key streets at the centre of ‘The Troubles’, to a trip to buy local produce at the lively St. George’s Market. And no visit to Belfast would be complete without a visit to the birthplace of the Titanic, which sailed and sank on its maiden voyage in 1912. Today one of the most popular tourist attractions in Ireland is in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter – the iconic Titanic Museum.

Belfast is a dynamic melting pot of old and new split into areas which reflect its history. There are 250 listed buildings and 14 Conservation Areas in the city and over the last few years a lot of energy has been put into restoring some of Belfast’s most historic buildings. Wandering through the lively streets is one of the best ways to see these remarkable places. The Cathedral Quarter is home to some of the city’s oldest buildings but also the art scene with the MAC (Metropolitan Art Centre) and Custom House Square, where there’s always something creative going on – from street entertainment to music festivals and theatre. The animated Queen’s Quarter is where the students hang out in leafy side streets and quirky shops and cafes, while those looking for a more traditional Irish experience won’t be disappointed with the Gaeltacht Quarter, which shows off the Emerald Isle at its best – filled with folk music, Irish cuisine and jolly upbeat pubs.

Belfast has several cultural quarters and a dynamic range of sights and experiences – so many it’s hard to know where to begin, so we’re giving you a helping hand. Here’s five top Belfast attractions we don’t want you to miss out on.

    • The Titanic Quarter, famous for its shipbuilding roots and home to the contemporary Titanic Museum, is an absolute must for anyone visiting this stylish city. While you’re there why not take a peek at SS Nomadic – built alongside the Titanic and a quarter of its size, this ship tells the story of life at sea after the great ship sank.
    • There’s been a glorious resurgence in recycling, arts and crafts and living ‘the Good Life’ and what better place to experience all of this than at the famous St George’s Market. There’s been a market on this spot since 1604 – Friday, Saturday and Sunday all offer different experiences from fresh fish, to antiques, to warm home-made cakes.
    • ‘The Troubles’ have shaped much of Belfast’s character and taking a tour to the key areas in the city is both moving and essential to understanding the Belfast of today. You’ll get to see the Shankill area, and the Falls as well as the Murals and Peace Wall along with a detailed history including the peace process.
    • Head to Lisburn Road, ‘the King’s Road of Belfast’ with its designer stores and trendy boutiques. It’s easy to get absorbed in the beautiful objects around you from antiques to vintage dresses and unique jewellery.
    • You’ve explored the streets of Belfast, soaked up the architecture and culture so what about the nightlife? There’s so much to choose from but if you head to the Cathedral Quarter you’ll find a real Belfast buzz at the lively but traditional Duke of York – there’s live music, whiskey and plenty of friendly faces to share the night with.

These are just a few of the many attractions in this unique city – just ask the concierge at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Belfast for more information and tips on what else you can get up to.

Belfast is a city with such a lot to offer it can be hard to know where to begin exploring, but taking one of the city’s unique tours will help everything fall into place. Here we’ve picked five ways to see Belfast.

    • Taxi! Belfast is famous for its Black Cab Tours and you’ll get an excellent tour of the city with people who know it like the back of their hand. You can choose to go down the political route or look at the architecture or be whisked around all the places connected to the Titanic.
    • Float your boat! Getting out and about on the River Lagan will give you a different perspective of Belfast so jump on a boat tour and take your camera for sights of the city, the docklands and the people.
    • On your bike! Hop on a bike tour – this is a great way to see the city sights and it’s really fun and flexible too. You can easily park up and have a coffee – or a pint of Guinness to make the onward journey even more interesting.
    • Belfast on the run! If you’re feeling more energetic you can take a running tour to see Belfast. The hotel can help with a route or you can join a guided tour which usually starts in front of the City Hall on Sunday at 10.30am.
    • On the buses! If you don’t fancy working up a sweat take a bus tour. Jump on and off the bus at places that interest you – from the Titanic Quarter to the Cathedral Quarter, the Murals, Falls Road and Shankill Road. Tickets last for two days so you can take your time and enjoy.

Belfast is a busy, exciting city full of history and modern quirks. Here are some ideas for how to spend your time while you are staying with us.

    • Take an architectural tour. The story of Belfast will be told through its wonderful old buildings (there are 250 listed buildings in Belfast) from the huge warehouses and shipyards to the murals on the walls from the Troubles. There are lots of different tours you can take – by bus, taxi, bike or walking.
    • Visit the city’s Titanic Quarter where the great Titanic was born ready for its fateful voyage in 1912. There’s a great modern building for the Titanic Museum and it’s a good place to get an understanding of what the shipbuilding industry meant to the city and the tragedy of the lives lost on the iconic ship.
    • Check out Belfast’s art scene at the MAC (Metropolitan Art Centre) and discover the international exhibitions and theatre, dance, art and music this new modern centre offers. You can pick up some lunch in the Cathedral Quarter afterwards.
    • Top up your wardrobe with a trip around some of Belfast’s shopping centres. Victoria Square and Castle Court are bursting with places to splash your cash from large department stores to popular high street shops.
    • If you’re after a tipple head to the docklands and do a tasting session at wine merchants Direct Wine Shipments – this place has knowledgeable staff who can match your wines to food and help you choose the right case for special occasions.
    • For a fun night out head to the Gaeltacht Quarter, which is filled with Irish folk music, busy pubs and traditional restaurants – it’s here you’ll find your feet, tap out a jig and reminisce over a great day sightseeing in Belfast.

    New Delhi Hotels

Make your trip to New Delhi

New Delhi Hotels Navigate colorful and crowded bazaars teeming with customers and flamboyant hawkers, marvel at the modernity of the delightful Lotus Temple, or gaze in awe at the magnificence of the elaborate Akshardham, an ornate Hindu temple complex of sandstone and marble that tops most travelers ‘must-do’ lists. Whatever you’re in New Delhi to see, there is a multitude of delights hidden between its chaotic and thrilling streets. It’s all about fun at the extravagant Kingdom of Dreams, a sprawling entertainment district on the very edge of New Delhi. Themed streets, imaginary starlit skies, elaborate golden palaces adorned with statuettes of sacred elephants, and bustling bazaars with garish stalls are all brought together in a dramatic theme park-style tourist. Over at Connaught Place, expensive retail and business buildings fill the core of the city, a hub for commercial enterprise and government decision making. From its tallest buildings you can see the instantly recognizable circle of Central Park, with its landscaped lawns and colorful flowerbeds. On the other side of the city, the unusual triangular façade of the Pragati Maidan exhibition center sits just off the Mahatma Gandhi Road, home to trade fairs, musical extravaganzas, and cultural events. While over at the cramped streets of the Karol Bagh district, garish market stalls fill an indoor bazaar, laden with decorative slippers, flamboyant batiks, and an overwhelming aroma of freshly ground spice. Hotels in New Delhi You can find hotels in New Delhi for any budget, as long as you choose your destination wisely. At the heart of the city, where the high-powered business principles of Connaught Place meet the artistic soul of the Mandi House district, you’ll find an abundance of luxury hotels housed in historic buildings, or occupying the rising floors of towering modern edifices. If you’re prepared to pay more for a luxury hotel in New Delhi, you’ll enjoy contemporary furniture, extra floor space, and access to amenities from fine-dining restaurants to decadent spas. If you prefer traveling on a budget, head just outside the city center to some of the less touristy districts, where comfortable inns provide spacious rooms, private bathrooms, and occasionally WiFi for free. Where to stay Central Delhi is where the city does business, amid a wall of high rise buildings that demonstrate their power the higher they climb above their neighbors. In South Delhi, the skyline is less dramatic, with sprawling residential districts that have grown from previously independent villages, and towns. It’s a hotbed for tourism, and amid the hotels in New Delhi that thrive here are its most popular attractions, from the Asola Wildlife Sanctuary to the madcap lanes of the Lajpat Nagar market. Over at the district of Karol Bagh, busy shopping streets like the Amjal Khan Road are every bit as cramped as other New Delhi streets, but distinctly less native-Indian thanks to the build-up of fast food restaurants, and trendy teenage stores. How to get to New Delhi The Indira Gandhi International Airport sits in the city suburbs, just south of the center. It’s connected to the rest of New Delhi by an impressive local rail and bus transport system that can drop visitors off in most suburbs of the city. Getting around the busy city streets themselves is easiest on foot, and the madcap traffic of central New Delhi streets is off-putting to most drivers. Taxis are available from most hotels if you do want to get further afield.

Excalibur Hotel – Casino (Las Vegas, NV) – BEST Hotel Reviews #community

We had a great rate at Excalibur and I have always been intrigued with the look. Since I had never stayed there and prefer to try a different place when visiting Las Vegas, I decided to give it a try. Our room was located on the top floor of the Resort Tower with a nice view.
The room itself was very basic, but clean. There is plenty of vanity space in the bathroom and the shower had great water pressure. There is a small hairdryer in the bathroom as well.
The casino has a good variety of games and is a good size. There are plenty of food options as well.
We have grown to like the more central location of the strip, and while the Excalibur is a little further down it is still close to many things. I did like the convenience of the close proximity to the Luxor and New York New York.
We always had a friendly encounter with all employees.
I would definitely stay again. We enjoyed the fun, medieval theme and atmosphere.

    North Las Vegas, Nevada

If you don’t like kids. or if your visit to Las Vegas wasn’t focused on them. well, there are kids here. If you don’t mind them – and I don’t – the Excalibur is a perfectly lovely and comfortable hotel right in the middle of things and it’s very inexpensive. The buffet is also inexpensive, for strip standards. I recommend this hotel to anyone who is coming to town and asks where they can save money but still be in the middle of the strip. I went to the spa – it’s priced about like any of them, not much less expensive. But it is very nice. All in all, the full strip-casino experience on a budget. And if you DO have kids? It looks like a CASTLE!

    Whitby hotels

    Hotels in Whitby

Surrounded by the North York Moors National Park and strongly associated with Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Whitby hotels are an excellent base for exploring this historically and culturally rich coastal landscape.

    History

Although it started life as a small fishing village, Whitby boomed as a tourist destination during the Georgian period and grew later with the introduction of the railway. One of the most impressive historical buildings in the area is Whitby Abbey, based on the East Cliff headland. The ruined Benedictine abbey is an impressive sight to behold and was one of the main sources of inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Beside the abbey is Cholmley House, which contains a museum and visitor reception to the abbey site.

Also worth visiting is the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, housed in a 17th-century building that was the former residence and training ground of James Cook during his time as an apprentice in the Royal Navy. The museum features a number of informative exhibitions detailing Cook’s voyages of discovery through various artefacts and documents. Whitby Museum and Pannett Art Gallery are both great destinations for rainy days. The museum has an eclectic collection of fossils, models of sailing ships and other curiosities. The art gallery, adjacent to the museum, has a fantastic collection of 20th-century British impressionist art.

    Victorian Whitby

The rise of the tourism during the Victorian period made Whitby a very popular destination. Jet jewellery also grew in popularity during the Victorian period and Whitby Jet, mined in the local area, became a fashionable item to wear throughout British society during the reign of Queen Victoria following the death of Prince Albert. At the end of the 19th century Whitby grew once more to prominence as a result of Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula. Stoker found the name of Dracula in Whitby’s pubic library and based a large chunk of the novel in the town. This association with Dracula can be explored in the Dracula Experience and the world famous Goth Festival takes place in the town twice a year.

    North York Moors National Park

Travel inland from Whitby and you’ll find the vast North York Moors National Park. This enormous area of exceptional natural beauty is the perfect location for outdoor activities, from gentle strolls to longer bike rides and horse riding. One of the best starting points for exploring the park is The Moors National Park Centre in nearby Danby. The centre has a selection of engaging exhibitions dedicated to teaching the geological and cultural history of the area. The centre also has a cosy tearoom and an outdoor play area – perfect if you’re travelling with kids in tow.

    Coast

Whitby is home to several outstanding beaches. Whitby Beach is a great place to spend a sunny day – whether you plan on making sandcastles with the kids or dipping into the sea. Tate Hill Beach is a pleasant beach set within Whitby harbour, Runswick Bay is an east facing sandy beach and Sandsend Ness contains thousands of fossils embedded in the shale banks.

    Hotels in Belfast

    Best Belfast Hotels

Belfast is a transformed city, full of state of the art shopping, ultra-cool nightlife, a regenerated waterfront and, perhaps above all else, a monumental reminder of its industrial past. The home of the Titanic, Belfast has given the ill-fated craft the sort of memorial befitting such an ambitious, and infamous, craft. Whether you’re exploring the high seas heritage or heading to rub shoulders with the hip clubbers and pubbers in the bustling bars and clubs, Belfast is a cultural and cosmopolitan city. Throw in regular arts festivals, galleries and theaters and you’ve got the ideal mix of intrigue and innovation.

Belfast has a world-class tourist attraction, in the shape of the Titanic Belfast. Combining recreations, exhibitions and entertainment, and based on the very slipways where the Titanic was built, this enormous center is a jewel in Belfast’s crown. With designs based on the look of the ship’s hull and the White Star Line’s insignia, visitors can explore and learn, while large banqueting and conference facilities are also available. Belfast City Hall’s Renaissance design has been at the heart of the city since 1906, and tours of its domes, rotunda and classical corridors run most days. Belfast Waterfront Hall is a hive of activity – its purpose-built circular auditorium is home to regular gigs, exhibitions and concerts, attracting world stars and local talent alike. Out of doors, Belfast’s Botanical Gardens are a link to the city’s Victorian era, and feature bowling gardens and tropical plants, as well as lots of clean air in the heart of the city.

    Hotels in Belfast

A forward-looking city, finding luxury hotels in Belfast won’t be an issue if you have the cash to splash. The high-end hotels in the city center tend to offer WiFi, flat-screen televisions with satellite channels, desks and free newspapers, among their standard features. Most will also have business and fitness facilities on-site. As well as five-star hotels, Belfast also offers a number of luxury apartments for hire, which will offer a similar level of comfort and amenities in-room, and in some cases the option of ordering a massage. A luxury spa can be found on a golf-course equipped estate outside the center of Belfast.

The huge redevelopment programme which has transformed Belfast into an ultra-chic, ultra-modern city means that you’ll most likely want to stay in its central district and immerse yourself in the swanky waterfront, the gleaming dome of Victoria Square and the other cultural landmarks on hand within the center of the city. Slightly further out of center is the Queens College district, the hub of student life thanks to the university of the same name and packed with bars and clubs on its Golden Mile. Prices may be slightly lower here, and it’s close to the lush Botanical Gardens.

Visitors from mainland UK and Ireland will most likely arrive at Belfast Airport, around 6 kilometres north of the city center. A shuttle bus will take you to the nearby rail station, and the Airport Express 600 bus runs every 20 minutes for a small charge. International visitors will have a longer journey into town, with Belfast International Airport 30 kilometres away from the center, but the Airport Express 300 provides a similar service from this airport at as reasonable a rate. Belfast Central Station is the main terminus for trains from Dublin, and the rest of Northern Ireland, and is around 20 minutes’ walk from the city center.
