More Ok so people hating on this place, if you want a 5 star place then your going to pay for it and you will have new fixtures and fancy decor. If you want a clean bed to sleep in and a clean shower to bathe then you are set here. Yes it is an outdated property with the bare necessities, but the floors are clean, beds are clean and bathrooms are clean. Sure there are some cosmetic issues like paint could be touched up here or there and maybe a cracked tile here or there. Like I said if you need a clean cheap place to sleep for the night, shower and be on your way this will do the job.

More This place is a dump. Upon entering, the room smelled like, I don t know what, but it stunk. Small trash on the carpet, white socks turned dark. Bathroom was in sorry shape. Toilet and tub shot. Looked like the place hadn t been cleaned in weeks. A/c could barely keep up and cooled the room to maybe 70 when we had it pegged. As a budget motel, I do not expect frills. But I expect a clean, comfortable room, as the ads state, and I did not get that at this location.

More Overall it was fine for the price. It was quiet, though when we got there, there were a lot of young people at the entrance smoking, which seems to be a bit strange since most smoking locations are further away from the entrance. The bathroom curtain had lots of stains and the sink faucet had a rim of yellow (whatever) with shaved hair. The bedding was clean but the bed covers were full of stains. So, again, for the price, I guess, we shouldn t complain but I don t see why lower price can t equal clean, since there were no extras included, like a breakfast.

More I knew going in not to have high expectations of a Motel 6 and I knew we only needed a place to sleep for one night so I didn t think it would be as horrible as it was. If I could give zero stars I would. Something seemed wrong right away because the comforters were totally wrinkled but I thought maybe they left them sitting in dryer too long. Wrong! Underneath the comforters were sheets full of long black hairs. The fan in the bathroom also wasn t covered. My husband asked to be moved to another room. The next room the AC had a high pitched noise that you couldn t correct. In the 3rd room, one of the beds totally buckled when my husband was checking for hair in the sheets. The 4th room that we ended settling with still had many hairs in the bed and boogers on the wall next to one bed. I cleaned the wall myself and we all slept on top of the comforters and got up early to get out as soon as we could. I m currently washing everything that touched any part of those rooms. I will never stay at a Motel 6 again!

More Let s start off by saying the pictures of the queen room are very decieving, the room is very small, and the bathroom is in the room like a studio which can be awkward if sharing. When you walk in the room it looks promising because the decor is minimal and nothing is upholstered. The room looks like you could essentially hose it down to clean it which leads me to believe it will be very clean. It s not. There was visible dust and dandruff on the headboard too and in the corners coming off the wall at the base of the matress. There was hair on everything which I m trying to convince myself was just from the dryer. So then you think to yourself, ok I just need to sleep here, get some rest no big deal well. The mattress is on a base that can only be described like one of those pull out couches from the 90 s. It has one of those bars right across your back so you wake up in agony. We picked this hotel because chains (imo) usually have figured out how to give the most affordable and pleasant experience. Not in this case. Shame.

W. More Your comment is awaiting moderation. I’m very concerned regarding a stay I had at the Motel 6 at 1047 Progress, in Meridian, ID. My sister and I were traveling and stayed at this motel on 2/7/2015. We were awoke at about 11:00 PM with a dog whining and barking. My sister went to the office and reported it to the girl there and was told she would let the owners know, not even knowing what room. She simply walked in back to an office, I assume. After a few minutes the barking stopped. Soon after we could hear loud talking or arguing and after this we just stayed in our room for fear of not knowing what we could expect. We did not feel safe. We had an opportunity to talk with a local there and were told that drugs were being run from that location. My concern is that location has my credit card information, and if this is true, well you can figure out the rest. I know I won’t be staying there again as I make frequent visits to that area. More I REALLY don t understand why this motel has received higher ratings than a 1. We are road reps and in MANY hotels a year and though we have stayed in budget rooms a lot, because we pay our own expenses, this is the first time I have ever taken the time to write a poor review. This motel should have been in the $45-50 range. Not at all what I would expect for AAA Rate of $78. The girl at the front desk wore a shirt that said something about updated rooms, so I thought oh good . Well that s where it all stopped. I guess they just have 1 luggage cart and someone hadn t returned it so we used their tiny laundry cart. The elevator was dirty. I just about died when we got into the room. Hardwood laminate flooring, vs. carpet made the room feel Hospital like, cold (especially if getting up in the middle of the night) and hard to walk on. The bed was a hard as rock mattress only sitting on top of small box. The top blanket had a cigarette hole in it. We didn t bring a hair dryer because EVERY budget motel weve stayed in has them. not this one. No hair dryer, no shampoo/conditioner. No fridge, no microwave, shower was not so great, no breakfast in the morning. I guess if I had a positive to say, the lighting was good and a nice table and booth seat chair to eat our dinner we brought in, and a good window seat area for your belongings. The TV was good but so high up you do need to sit back in the bed to watch it. The TV frame was hanging off (not a huge deal). I stick can t believe we didn t pay $45-50 instead of $78. Terrible room for the price

I have been moved from room to room and so far have not hit on the magic combination. The closest I am getting is Room 6316 in Building D. Everything is OK except the TV is missing 70% of the channels and the ones it does get are so bad the watching the screen will give you a headache. The picture is horrible. I have asked on multiple occasions (at least once a day), so far I have been fully ignored. SO stay here at your own risk. There are far better accommodations in the area for roughly the same price. Why am I staying here? Because my company had prepaid and booked this place for the next 28 days else I be gone. P.S. Our firm has 5 or 6 of us booked here for over a month all of us have rooms in Building D with some sort of issue TV or Stove top not working and requests to get them rectified go ignored. Guess where our company will not be booking the next time we have a extended project in the SF area.

I called right away to see if the items had been found and they claimed nothing was found in any of the rooms before i was even able to finish my sentence. Then hung up on me! NEVER staying again.

Front office room service staff were all wonderful. NOT a 5-star motel, but it does deserve a 5-star rating for a Motel 6. Will definately stay here again. Give them a try, especially if traveling with a pet. AND – fridge microwave in room everything worked.

To Whom it May Concern,

First off would like to say I have NEVER in my 30 years traveling have I ever contacted Headquarters regarding a stay but this one takes the cake.

Th Motel 6 Little Rock West in Litlte Rock, AR is the worst ever Motel 6 I have ever stayed in. Ladies of the night working, loud music, Partying going on all night. When complained to the staff advised they be gone next week then it may be quiet. This place was filthy, in a bad location, and very seedy people hanging out there. Looked like weekly rentals as the people in room next to us had a propane tank in their room and they were cooking. Again I say do not stay here. I have stayed for the past 30 years at Motel 6 but never again. They ruined it. Home office should really check on this one the other reviews are just as bad and my husband is Police Officer and he said NO way would we stay here again.

Not the best place, but considering location I would definitely stay there again. Parking is not so easy as many others have observed, but doable. Make a reservation. Rooms were absolutely okay, but don’t count on a view. Area was also okay. Sure you will see homeless, but you’ll see that nearly anywhere. Location was within easy walking distance to Hollywood attractions and an easy walk to the Metro to go to Universal Studios.

Cheap, noisy but right on Hollywood Blvd walk of fame

JubeSouthWales (18 reviews)

Ok place to stay but don’t expect much in terms of the hotel. Terrible old decor although you may like orange. The hotel is literally a minutes walk off Hollywood Blvd and about a 10 minute walk to the Chinese theatre. Rooms are noisy thin walls and squeaky floors. Music from clubs and street noise can be heard through the night. Road it is on is a bit seedy with a super cheap hotel next door with some odd characters hanging around outside it.

Walk of fame is much more grubby than we had imagined with a good many homeless sleeping on the street from early evening onwards. If I ever went again I wouldn’t chose to stay in Hollywood itself.

Parking at hotel was $12 but it was full when we arrived but an open parking lot next door was available at $25 for the night.

The 8s are slightly further up the food chain than the 6s, but there are good and bad examples of both. Tripadvisor is your friend. Impossible to generalize about rates however as each hotel’s location will drive cost, as will demand on the night(s) you stay.

Others to consider that are in the same bracket would be Red Roof Inn, Econolodge and there are probably others. Consistency of quality control is very poor in these chains so your experiences will vary a lot from one to another.

At the rest stops, there are usually motel books with coupons. Sometimes you can get some Hampton or Fairields for 59 bucks plus tax. Nice hot tubs and breakfast.

If you are planning on doing some sight seeing and can plan, try Priceline and or Hotwire. I booked the Doubletree Hotel in PA in July for $65 a night and the Westin in Arlington for 113. You can usually get Holiday Inn for 50 bucks (start at 35 in remote places). But you must plan and you must arrive on a certain date. If you bring a laptop, you can stop by wireless gas stations or rest stops and try to book ahead of yourself. These hotels are MUCH nicer than the Motel 8, but require some planning.

Another cheapo way to go is to use the KOA cabins. It all depends on how much you want to see and do on your trip. Might as well see some stuff. The National Parks in Southern Utah, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Devils Tower, Rushmore, Crazy Horse are all pretty cool.

I ve never been so disgusted and pissed off. The two nights that we were there (4th-into the 5th and the 5th into the 6th)we were getting bit up at night and we thought it was just mosquitos because we had the windows open. The last night we were there I was up every hour itching and then at 3am we wake up to something biting My cousin so I turned on my flashlight and looked on his bed and come to find out it was bed bugs. I searched the damn beds when I first got there, but obviously missed them. They were out of rooms so they couldn t give us another one- not that we would even stay in it. We then had to wait until 7am so they could contact management to see what they could do for us so we sat up the rest of the morning and got absolutely no sleep and felt so gross sitting in that room- and the only thing they ended up doing was giving us money back for one night. We had 4 young kids with us(had two different rooms) that were in and out of our room and my 3 year old nephew ended up with bites on his arms. So not only do we have to deal with the endless itching and feeling completely disgusted we also have to clean everything we have with us so that we don t bring any of these nasty things into our homes- just in case they got in our clothing/luggage which is nothing but a hassle. This will be our second year(and our last) staying at this hotel, the first year we had no problems. The rooms look very nice, the beds are very comfortable, but obviously they are not clean. The last day of our family vacation has been completely ruined.

2006 Acura TSX vs. Honda Accord, Mazdaspeed 6, Pontiac G6, VW Jetta

First: 2006 Volkswagen Jetta GLI

In a perfect world, a guy who likes to unwind lonely driving roads on a brisk weekend morning owns an implement dedicated to just such an activity. A Mazda MX-5, for example. Or a Pontiac Solstice. Or a Honda S2000. Or. fill in your favorite sports car. But that ideal presupposes a big budget for grown-up toys, and/or the absence of parental obligations, which immediately add extra doors and seats to the equation. As much as we love ’em, sports cars are pure automotive self-indulgence, with a low practicality index. And the sad truth is, many of us are economically limited to one ride that has to serve a variety of everyday transportation functions, as well as satisfying your inner Michael Schumacher. Perhaps you’ve noticed this?

Take heart. Ownership of a car with four doors needn’t mean the end of fun-to-drive, and to support this proposition we present this field of five sub-$30,000 sports sedans that are just the ticket, able to deliver speed with a soupçon of luxury, too. Okay, more than a soupçon. A modicum. And in a couple cases, a profusion.

As a conceptual group, our roundup of 30-grand sports sedans isn’t new. It’s one of our regular sports-sedan reality checks. Still, there is much that is new here-in fact, only one of these five packages is familiar. That would be the Acura TSX, a sophisticated sweetheart that’s been on our 10Best Cars list since its 2004 debut. Modestly freshened for ’06, the TSX prevailed in our last under-30-grand decathlon (“Sustainable Sports Sedans ,” October 2004) and, consequently, anchors this one. (As with our 10Best Cars protocol, the also-rans in that derby weren’t invited to this one.)

The other everyday heroes are new for ’06 in varying degrees, and only one of them-the Jetta GLI-has gone through our battery of instrumented tests (October 2005 ). The GLI is the liveliest member of the Jetta family, and it shares its chassis and components with the GTI, VW’s famous hatchback hot rod. The Jetta’s inventory of go-faster hardware includes a new 2.0-liter direct-injection turbo four that churns up 197 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque, a useful upgrade from the previous 1.8-liter turbo motor’s 180 horsepower and 173 pound-feet, although the gain in output is mitigated by an increase at the scales.

The other force-fed car in the field is the long-awaited Mazdaspeed 6, with all-wheel drive and 274 horsepower available from a turbo version of Mazda’s 2.3-liter four. That’s almost enough to put the Mazda on an equal performance footing with bad boys like the Subaru Impreza WRX STI or Mitsubishi Evo, and it was more than enough to hustle the Mazda to the front of this pack in terms of sheer zoom-zoom.

As a refreshing change, a domestic entry made the starting grid, the GTP version of Pontiac’s G6 sedan, with more authority in the suspension, more grip, and more muscle, thanks to more displacement-3.9 liters in a pushrod V-6, very all-American.

Beyond that, we found ourselves with an element of family feud. The Honda Accord has never been a player in one of our sports-sedan spectaculars, but for 2006 its extensive freshening includes the availability of a robust EX edition with a 244-hp, 3.0-liter V-6 and a six-speed manual. That combination is a first for Honda’s bread-and-butter four-door, and an essential element in qualifying for this bash-a manual transmission was one of the basic requirements for invitation, and all five cars were equipped with you-shift-it six-speeds.

You might observe that a couple other prime everyday-hero candidates-the Audi A4 and the BMW 3-series-didn’t make the cut. What’s up with that? Money, that’s what. As was true in our 2004 comparo, even the humblest of 3-series sedans, the 325i, carries a base price of $31,595, overflowing our 30-grand ceiling, and that presumes you could even find an unadorned 325i. This also goes for the A4. A basic front-drive A4 starts at $28,360, but in an age of steadily shrinking evaluation fleets, finding a base edition of any vehicle is akin to finding the last virgin in Las Vegas.

We drove the 280 miles to southeast Ohio, where we scorched the edges of our 13.5-mile driving loop. The Hocking Hills route is rich in linked turns, decreasing radii, whoop-de-dos, elevation changes, and bird watchers in L.L.Bean outfits, all in all ideal for gauging a car’s SQ (sporting quotient). This time around, it had a profound impact on the outcome.

Visual Basic Tutorial Lesson 37: Adding Menus for Your Application #free #visual

#

Lesson 37: Creating Menus for Your Applications

The menu bar is the standard feature of most Windows applications. The main purpose of the menus is for easy navigation and control of an application. Some of the most common menu items are File, Edit, View, Tools, Help and more. Each item on the main menu bar also provides a list of options in the form of a pull-down menu. When you create a Visual Basic 6 program, you need not include as many menu items as a full-fledged Windows application. What you need is to include those menu items that can improve the ease of usage by the user. There are two ways to add menus to your application, using the Visual Basic’s Application Wizard and or the menu editor.

37.1 Adding Menu Bar Using Visual Basic’s Application Wizard

The easiest way to add a menu bar to your application is by using Visual Basic’s Application Wizard. This wizard allows the user to insert fully customized standard Windows menu into his or her application. To start using Visual Basic’s Application Wizard, click on the Application Wizard icon at the Visual Basic new project dialog box, as shown in Figure 37.1 below:

Figure 37.1: New Project Window

When you click on the VB Application wizard, the introduction dialog box will appear, as shown in Figure 37.2. As you are not loading any default setting, just click on the Next button.

Figure 37.2

After clicking the Next button, the interface type dialog box will be displayed, as shown in Figure 37.3. There are three choices of interface available for your project. As we currently not creating a Multiple Document Interface (MDI), we choose Single Document Interface (SDI). You can also type the project name in the textbox below, here I am using MyFirstMenu.

Figure 37.3

Clicking the Next button wiill bring up a list of menus and submenus that you can add them to your application. Check to select a menu item and uncheck to unselect a menu item as shown in Figure 37.4. Let say we choose all the menus and click next, then you will get an interface comprises File, Edit, View and Help menus, as shown in Figure 37.5

Figure 37.4

Figure 37.5

When you click on any menu item, a list of drop-down submenu items will be displayed. For example, if you click on the File menu, the list of submenu items such as New, Open, Save, Save As and more will be displayed, as shown in Figure 37.6

Figure 37.6

Clicking on any of the dropped down menu item will show the code associated with it, and this is where you can modify the code to suit your programming needs. For example, clicking on the item Open will reveal the following code:

Figure 37.7

Now, I will show you how to modify the code in order to open a graphic file and display it in an image box. For this program, you have to insert a Image box into the form. Next add the following lines so that the user can open graphic files of different formats.

Filter = Bitmaps(*.BMP)|*.BMP|Metafiles(*.WMF)|*. WMF|Jpeg Files(*.jpg)|*.jpg|GIF Files(*.gif)|*.gif|Icon Files(*.ico)|*.ico|All Files(*.*)|*.* .

Then, you need to load the image into the Image box with the following code:

Also set the Stretch property of the Image box to true so that the image loaded can resize by itself. Please note that each menu item is a special control, so it has a name too. The name for the menu File in this example is mnuFileOpen.

The Code

When you run the program and click on the File menu and then the submenu Open, the following Open dialog box will be displayed, where you can look for graphic files of various formats to load it into the image box.

Figure 37.8

For example, selecting the jpeg file will allow you to choose the images of jpeg format, as shown in Figure 37.9.

Figure 37.9

Clicking on the particular picture will load it into the image box, as shown in Figure 36.10 below

Figure 37.10

37.2: Adding Menu Bar Using Menu Editor

To start adding menu items to your application, open an existing project or start a new project, then click on Tools in the menu bar of the Visual Basic IDE and select Menu Editor. When you click on the Menu Editor, the Menu Editor dialog will appear. In the Menu Editor dialog. key in the first item File in the caption text box. You can use the ampersand ( ) sign in front of F so that F will be underlined when it appears in the menu, and F will become the hot key to initiate the action under this item by pressing the Alt key and the letter F. After typing File in the Caption text box, move to the name textbox to enter the name for this menu item, you can type in mnuFile here. Now, click the Next button and the menu item File will move into the empty space below, as shown in Figure 37.11:

Figure 37.11

You can then add in other menu items on the menu bar by following the same procedure, as shown in Figure 37.12 below:

Figure 37.12

When you click Ok, the menu items will be shown on the menu bar of the form.

Figure 37.13

Now, you may proceed to add the sub menus. In the Menu Editor, click on the Insert button between File and Exit and then click the right arrow key, and the dotted line will appear. This shows the second level of the menu, or the submenu. Now key in the caption and the name. Repeat the same procedure to add other submenu items. Here, we are adding New, Open, Save, Save As and Exit.

Figure 37.14

Now click the OK button and go back to your form. You can see the dropped down submenus when you click on the item File, as shown.

Figure 37.15

Finally, you can enter the code by clicking on any of the submenu items.

Can I get an insurance quote for a one year policy? #car

#

Can I get an insurance quote for a one year policy?

If you can get a quote for a policy that lasts one full year will depend upon where you live and if an insurer in your area offers a 12-month policy.

Most car insurance companies will offer only six-month policies, but there are those that do offer 12-month policies. Some car insurance companies that offer 12-month policies include:

  • Erie Insurance
  • Infinity
  • Liberty Mutual
  • MetLife
  • National General Insurance (formerly known as GMAC Insurance)
  • The General
  • The Hartford
  • USAA

At CarInsurance.com, we work with some of these car insurance carriers that offer 12-month policies; thus it may be possible for you to obtain an annual policy.

Start now by finding car insurance companies in your area

The underwriting rules and guidelines of car insurance companies vary and will determine if you re eligible to be offered a 12-month policy. This means just because an insurance company may say it offers a 12-month policy, it doesn t mean you’ll be found suitable according to a company s underwriting criteria.

If one of our carriers finds that you qualify for a 12-month policy and offers it in your area, you will see a term of 12 months displayed on our rates page.

If you need insurance and cannot afford a large down payment we offer many payment plans to help you purchase the policy that you need whether it’s a six-month policy or 12-month, annual policy.

If you purchase an insurance policy through CarInsurance.com, we accept payment from checking accounts, savings account or prepaid debit card, as well as the certain credit cards including Visa and MasterCard.

Compare car insurance rate quotes and see the what policy term we have to offer you.

Ridiculous! When spoken to the staff – they mocked us up. Amenities like shampoo and soap that doesn t smell like bread yeast would be something one would expect when paying $130 per night! Not to mention breakfast, cleaner bed linens, etc. Shower curtain was quite dirty and moldy, floors were not clean, parking was always full and the asphalt broken (it was hard to pass with our car), and the overall feeling was – that we were cheated. Further more the construction of the place is such that we could hear all of our neighbors. There were drunks most of the night talking loud in the corridor, arguing, and no one from the staff to do something. Overall this is a one star place that costs like a 3 or 4 star.

I now understand why! They gouged me 290.00 for two nights Friday and Saturday. This is a ridicloud amount to charge for their rooms. The fake hardwood floors were sticky on your feet needed to wear shoes at all times. The bed linens had some sort of plastic on them and the sheets were damp. Keep in mind if going here they have no basics in your room i.e. shampoo hair dryer kleenex or alarm clock. The bathroom was dirty and the overall room disgusting. Thank goodness we had plenty to do and spend as little time as possible in the room. Would never recommend!

We enjoyed the many services right next door: fast food, fuel, car wash, service station, liquor store, food store, and the best restaurant we ve ever eaten at (healthy, fresh, and grew a lot of it s own food on site). In addition, this Motel 6 provided very affordable lodging. We recommend this motel highly! Carl Marlys Carlson

Not the best part of town but we didn t experience any trouble. The room was decent. A cheap motel room. Plenty of TV channels including HBO are included. The worst part was paid wifi. $2.99 a day for Internet service! What a joke. The service was great. The lady could tell we were having a rough day and got us checked in immediately. Checkout isn t until noon so we were able to bring the car in at 7 AM and the guy got the radiator replaced by 11:30! Checkout was easy. All in all not a bad experience with the motel.

It looks like it was decorated by a two year old. Flies are abundant. Do NOT come here. Table is wobbly. At least the door was normal. Wait, it took me five minutes to open it. My husband and I arrived at this Motel 6 road weary. I made reservations online and had a confirmation number for a 5 day stay, which I booked well in advance. The clerk told us we only had a reservation for that night and that was it. He couldn t honor our reservation because the motel was sold out. We decided to take the one night and try to find another room in the morning. As we loaded our stuff into the room, there was a couple having a huge knock down drag out fight. We asked the clerk if we could have another room and he said No, the hotel is sold out. I called the 800 number and the person I spoke to couldn t have cared less, and told me if I left I would have to pay for the room, that it would not be refunded. He told me I could have a room at the Motel 6 in Niagara Falls, which was 1/2 hour north. I was FURIOUS. So we asked for a refund from the front desk clerk, which we got, and left the hotel. The room was smelly and dank anyway, so it was a blessing in disguise. I called Customer Service the following day and the person I spoke to hung up on me. On my second call to Customer Service I finally spoke to someone who seemed to care and apologized for the screw up. No satisfaction to date. Don t count on your reservations being honored at this hotel.

Wth. Didn t ask for my room number to have it took care of the next day either. The beds were hard as a rock hardly no room to walk. Be sure to take your own personal hygiene supplies as they have none to offer except a tiny bar of soap. Also they tell you check out time is at noon, both when you get your key and also on the door to the room as well, but don t be surprised when housekeeping comes banging on your door at 11:15 telling you rudely to leave. Hence why I am leaving 3 stars instead of 4. Get your staff together and make sure everyone is on the same page.

The staff at the front desk was very helpful, and I was grateful that the air was already on so that it didn t take long to get it cooled to where I wanted it. The only problems I had were that the electrical outlets above the table didn t work, there wasn t a outlet right under the t.v. so I could plug up the game, and the gaming hookups for the t.v. didn t work, even though it was clearly advertised on the website. But there are plenty of other outlets I was able to use. Like the other guy said I was able to catch plenty of pokemon while there and I m not talking about pidgies and rattatas. More Overall it was fine for the price. It was quiet, though when we got there, there were a lot of young people at the entrance smoking, which seems to be a bit strange since most smoking locations are further away from the entrance. More This was a last-minute booking for the Toronto International Film Festival because it became clear at the last minute that we were invited as film co-producers. As a result of every other room in town being taken, a top-floor unmodernized room was all that was available. It was cheap and the view over downtown Toronto was simply outstanding. But as for the room itself, it appeared ready for use as a film set for a suicide movie! Cleaners had obviously done their best with the extremely worn furniture and decor, and there were no bed-bugs or roaches, but one gained the impression they might appear at any moment. Air-conditioning is an external unit. There was also a problem with the door lock that I was forced to repair myself before the room could be called remotely secure. Perhaps the top floor rooms have now been modernised? Perhaps the other rooms are better? I am reluctant to give bad reviews, but on this single occasion this hotel did not meet most travellers standards.

More I never write reviews, in fact I m a very laid back person, I am not a complainer, and I m easy going, however I feel the need to write a review about Studio 6. The pricing for what you get is unacceptable. You see some pictures, you look at the location, you think it s a good deal, however when I arrived, things were not organized, the staff could not locate my booking. They were being extremely rude to the point it was actually awkward for no apparent reason. They charged me $30 for parking, when parking was cheaper for other guests, and to top it off, the room I got was a mess, I went back down to complain the beds weren t done and the bathroom looked dirty and they had the audacity to say it s impossible, as if I d make a mess and come back down to complain. I had such an uncomfortable experience, I ve never experienced something like this. Now the reason why I am writing this review despite the above, was when I got home, a few days later I had bed bug bites on my arms and now I have no idea if they got in my luggage, or if I have them in my house or bed now. Awful awful experience. I don t know who runs this place but STAY AWAY.

More Horrible service! Please read below if you have the time. I sure wish I could have remembered their names. We heard a know around 8 pm Sunday night. There was a woman and a security guard at the door. I opened the door and was being asked for my receipt to the room which i had purchased for and paid with my american express as well as my identification. We were told that they had no knowledge of us staying in that room. I complied nicely, and gave them my ID. I also searched for the receipt, but I could not find it anywhere. The security guard even suggested that he would kick us out of our room if we did not have our receipt. I told him I had an email receipt but he told me a paper copy was needed. i also told them that there is a paper downstairs where I signed for the room. But they told me they had not found it or seen it. I decided to check my car, and by this point I was rather frustrated with both of them. Lo and behold, I found it! As I walk into the office, I see right there on the table a similar paper. It was the paper that I had signed for which had all of my card information as well as mine! The one I had signed perhaps two hours prior. The woman then begins to say, well I see that you only paid for two persons, but there are 4 of you. But we will let that go. No worries. And then I pointed to the receipt which they had the whole time and said, well I paid for four persons. It says it right there. And I pointed to said paper. Now they seem to put on nicer faces, saying you should have had the paper And that, nothing would have happened if you had the receipt on hand. This was rather infuriating, as they both did not even try to apologize for interrupting us and causing us to stress over the rather simple mistake an employee made. I think further evaluation is required of that woman who worked in that night shift. Also I do think someone must ask that security man what river dancing is and weather he is allowed to say such things because I am under the impression he did not mean well by that. On a more positive note, the motel 6 in Dallas I went to the night before was more positive in terms of service.

I would normally not stay in a place I would give two stars, but it’s the only hotel in Venice Beach that allows large dogs. It’s only $50/night and you get what you pay for. We don’t spend much time in our room when we vacation so it’s all good.
They only offer free wifi with an AARP membership; otherwise, you have to pay for it, which I didn’t. We also had two incidents where the shower completely stopped when we were showering. The first time, the front desk said that they had a water main break. several months ago and have had some problems ever since with a couple of rooms and just to give it five minutes and it should come back on.
The next day, same thing happened and another lady said I’ll get it fixed right away! and it was. Not really sure what that’s about, but I’ve never had a shower stop mid-shower at a hotel.
I’ll probably come back, but only because there’s no other hotel that will accept dogs over 20lbs.

Chinese insurer acquiring Santa Monica resort, Hotel del Coronado in $6.5-billion portfolio deal

The Loews Santa Monica Beach and the historic Hotel del Coronado near San Diego are being acquired by a Chinese insurance company as part of a $6.5-billion deal.

Blackstone Group, a New York private equity firm, has agreed to sell its Strategic Hotels Resorts Inc. which owns 16 luxury properties, to Anbang Insurance Group, a person familiar with the transaction said Saturday.

The portfolio, according to Strategic’s website, includes the Santa Monica hotel and the famed Coronado hotel, as well as two other Southern California properties — the Montage Laguna Beach and the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel. There are three properties in the Bay Area: the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay, the Four Seasons Hotel in East Palo Alto and the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco.

Beijing-based Anbang has been investing in luxury U.S. hotel properties, including its acquisition last year of the Waldorf Astoria in New York for $1.95 billion from Hilton Worldwide Holdings.

Buying Strategic Hotels gives Anbang a host of high-end hotels and resorts in a single move. The portfolio’s 16 properties include 7,532 rooms as well as meeting and banquet space. Among its other properties are the Fairmont Scottsdale in Arizona and the Four Seasons Resort in Jackson Hole, Wyo.

Blackstone only completed its acquisition of Strategic Hotels, a Chicago-based real estate investment trust, in December. That sale was valued at $3.93 billion, or about $6 billion, including debt.

The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity Saturday because they were not authorized to speak publicly, could not immediately say how much of the $6.5-billion deal value includes debt.

A spokeswoman for Blackstone declined to comment Saturday. An email to a media representative at Anbang was not immediately returned.

The deal was first reported by Bloomberg News.

Some of this stuff I mention probably will sound petty but I spent money here so, take it as you may. Would I stay here again? No. Firstly, the room was gross when we came into it. It smelled like mildew the whole week. The floor was dirty when we came in (and didn t get better even with housekeeping visits). I didn t mind the hardwood floors and understand why they had them, but it made for messy sheets getting into bed after stepping on the floor. There is very little water pressure in the sink and shower, which sucks for getting sand off of yourself after the beach. They don t provide many towels and they are TINY anyways. The in-room phone was broken as well. There is no breakfast, which we saw photos of on the website we booked through. Not really a big deal and not the hotels fault, but the staff gave us attitude when we inquired about it. The wi-fi isn t free, and I know not all places offer it. But, we weren t told when we checked in, but were given a password for it. When it didn t connect in the room, we were told we had to do it in the lobby, and that s when we figured out it cost per day. The pool is okay, was a little dirty the first day we went to it. They provided towels one day we went and when we went the next and they were empty, we were told we don t provide those at the pool when there was clearly a basket for them (clean and dirty). Don t get me started on housekeeping. They come at different hours per day (first day was between 2-3pm, second day was at 10am, 3rd day it s 3:30 and still haven t seen anyone). When we told the lady when she came at 10am that we would be leaving shortly could she come back, we were told no because she was on a time limit . Needless to say we didn t get cleaned, just some fresh towels.
