About Us

We are a 48 bedded family run care home situated in Cainscross, Stroud on the Westward Road, registered for residential, nursing and dementia care. Our Home Manager is an RGN who oversees the day to day running of the home.
We have a trained nurse on duty 24 hours a day and welcome residents for either respite care or on a long term basis. We are able to care for older people over 65 years and occasionally over 55 years.

History

The Home is a former vicarage which served St Matthews Church next door and prior to becoming a Care Home, Cotswold House was home to the studio of Animation (Stroud) Ltd which was part of the largest animation studio in the country, making such animated films as the Popeye series and Asterix. Within the last 2 years the home has undergone a £1 million refurbishment programme.

Our Care Ethos

We are very committed to giving the highest quality of care to our residents in a calm and relaxed environment, whilst at the same time ensuring they are treated as individuals with the respect and dignity they deserve.

Testimonials

‘Very pleased I made the move to Cotswold House. **** seems very settled’

Cotswold Care Hospice marked its 25th anniversary with a reception to thank volunteers, supporters and staff. More than 100 people enjoyed Pimms and canaps in the hospice gardens in Minchinhampton.

Among the guests were Countess Bathurst, vice president of Cotswold Care Hospice, and Barbara Curd, one of the founding members of the hospice 25 years ago.

Every year Cotswold Care Hospice helps more than 500 people with life-limiting illnesses and their families. All of its services are provided free of charge.

Volunteers are needed for a series of events planned for the summer

  • Summer Fete Saturday, May 12, 2-4pm
  • Midnight Walk Friday, June 15, 10pm until late
  • Cotswold Crunch Sunday, June 24, all day
  • Race The Train Saturday, October 13, 10am-3.30pm

Are you free to help on any of the days above?

For the Fete you just need to turn up to Cotswold Care Trust in Minchinhampton and spend your money, but for the Midnight Walk the ladies will be out around Cirencester in their pyjamas, so they need the men to look after them! Marshals are needed to guide the way and offer encouragement.

On June 24 the cyclists will be out and they need marshalling as well. Cotswold Care Hospice is looking for volunteers to help marshal the route, help register the riders and man the feed stations along the route.

Finally, on October 13 its the runners turn, but they also need volunteer marshals to show them the way.

CAN YOU HELP? Its not for long, but all these sponsored participants will get lost without you! If you have a little time to spare please contact Gail Hall on 01453 759005 for more details.
