Hospice of Kitsap County Thrift Store to close

BREMERTON – The Hospice of Kitsap County Thrift Store will stop taking donations this week and will close as of Jan. 31. In anticipation of the closure, the store will hold a clearance sale to sell the remaining merchandise.

The Thrift Store, located at 301 Pacific Ave. in Bremerton, was not part of MultiCare’s purchase of Hospice of Kitsap County.

“We appreciate the dedication of the employees and volunteers who ran this store and we thank them for their service,” said Kevin Turner, executive director of Hospice of Kitsap County.

The store, which opened in 2014, had supported Hospice of Kitsap County operations. MultiCare is focused on improving and expanding the hospice services and operations. Keeping the Thrift Store would divide attention from that priority.

MultiCare announced in December that it purchased Hospice of Kitsap County Operating under the name of MultiCare Hospice. The transition will be complete on Feb. 1. MultiCare Hospice will work to expand access to hospice resources in Kitsap County and the surrounding region. The transition is expected to be seamless for patients.

Hospice of Kitsap County has nearly 50 employees and more than 60 volunteers. It is a not-for-profit, Medicare-certified, Washington-state-licensed agency supported by the community through memorial gifts, donations, grants and annual fundraising events.

MultiCare operates Hospice and Home Health services throughout Pierce and South King counties. MultiCare currently provides adult and pediatric specialty services in Kitsap County.

Hospice of Kitsap County will become part of MultiCare’s integrated not-for-profit health care system, which includes Auburn Medical Center, Allenmore Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Tacoma General Hospital and Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, along with numerous outpatient clinics and specialty centers. Patients at Hospice of Kitsap County will continue to receive expert care from its interdisciplinary team of physicians, pharmacists, nurses, social workers, health aides, spiritual counselors and volunteers.

HMC Hospice Care Center

Our Inpatient Care Center serves the needs of patients who require more advanced symptom management or residential care. When a patient s condition calls for constant or intensive care that can no longer be accommodated at home or their place of residence, Hospice of Medina County offers our beautiful, new Hospice Care Center.

Open to patients in January of 2012, our new Hospice Care Center offers sixteen elegantly-appointed patient rooms to provide a home-like setting. The inpatient unit is specifically designed to meet the needs of the terminally ill and their families with peace and serenity.

The Hospice Care Center recently received Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. HMC Hospice of Medina County is the first LEED Gold certified hospice facility in Ohio! This is quite an honor and achievement said James Faulkner, President of Matrix Architects and project designer. HMC is now in select company as only 148 other buildings in Ohio have achieved the gold level since 2006. We are so proud to have been a part of this project.

Some of the key sustainable features of the facility include a cool roofing system, energy-efficient windows and doors, construction waste management plan, and the use of regional building materials with high recycled content throughout. As we work towards LEED Certification, we are ensuring a healthy and natural environment for our patients, families and employees. For more information on LEED and green building requirements click here.

If you are able to spread the word to find a good buyer and home, it would be greatly appreciated. Anyone interested can email or call me at home (leave message). I am located near Glenwood MN.

We just completed another fun filled Shop with a Cop in Washington County. 100+ deputies, officers, agents, troopers and rangers helped make a local child very happy on Saturday. Our thanks go out to the WCSO Explorers and the many other volunteers who assisted in this large scale endeavor. We are also grateful to WalMart and other corporate sponsors, and private donors, who make this possible. Many of the officers donate their own money or contribute to fundraising efforts for this event.

Special thanks to Sheriff Pulsipher, Brian Pulsipher, County Attorney Brock Belnap, County Commissioner Zach Renstrom, SGPD Chief Stratton, HCPD Chief Excell, Springdale PD Chief Breck and WCPD Chief Keith for cooking and serving pancakes, sausage and eggs to nearly 300 participants. The breakfast was donated by Sysco .

We thought it may be unique to see Shop with a Cop from the kids point of view with the use of our body cams. Three kids, with permission from their parents, were equipped with police body cams for the experience. Click to view the body cam video on our Washington County Sheriff s Office Facebook Page.

On October 21, 2016, the Washington County Sheriff s Office delivered a nice Halloween surprise to children at Washington Elementary School when they arrived with a truckload of Halloween pumpkins. Students were all able to pick out their own pumpkin courtesy of the Sheriff s Office. Read more

On October 29th, from 10 AM to 3 PM at 200 West and Tabernacle, St George, there will be a car show honoring emergency first responders from Washington County. Proceeds will help support Project Lifesaver. There will be a Trunk or Treat, food, vendors and the All Hero s Walk .

Project Lifesaver is a public safety program specifically designed to protect and locate missing persons due to wandering, as a result of cognitive conditions such as Alzheimer s, Dementia, Autism and Down Syndrome. The program uses state of the art technology to track, locate and return loved ones to their families after having wandered off.

Local emergency teams respond to calls resulting in an average rescue time of less than 30 minutes. Unlike other services, Project Lifesaver does not rely on GPS technology which requires satellite signal. Project Lifesaver utilizes a radio frequency, which allows the device to work in areas where GPS may not, such as inside buildings, in underground tunnels, and under water, etc.

Project Lifesaver is a non-profit organization. To learn more about Project Lifesaver, visit www.projectlifesaver.org.

If you are the caretaker of someone who may qualify for the free service, or have questions about this service, please contact your local law enforcement agency.

On August 6th, 2016, the Washington County Sheriff s Office hosted our 7th Annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament. Nearly 40 staff members participated in the tournament, which took place at Dixie High School. The Sheriff s Office hosts many PT events, and this has certainly become one of our more enjoyable events. It turned out to be a great event, not just for the players, but for everyone who attended! This included a significant number of co-workers, friends and family (especially children) who came out to support our employees.

On August 2nd, the Washington County Sheriff s Office honored Deputy Tisa May as our Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2016 (April-June). During that time, Deputy May excelled at many of her operational duties, not the least of which was her searches. During the quarter, Deputy May s searches yielded, among other things, drugs, drug paraphernalia, weapons and alcohol. Additionally, several of Deputy May s investigations, as a member of the Correctional Intelligence Unit, resulted in criminal convictions. Deputy May also expanded her efforts outside of her normal duties by way of a number of significant collateral assignments and duties. She has consistently shown herself to be a valuable asset to the Sheriff s Office, and we would like you to please join us in congratulating Deputy May and in recognizing her for her efforts.

During the same ceremony, the Washington County Sheriff s Office also officially welcomed their newest certified deputies. Deputy Kyle Maddox, Deputy Samantha Record and Deputy Steven Shumway recently were certified as law enforcement officers in the State of Utah. They all accepted the oath of office and were sworn in during the ceremony by Sheriff Cory Pulsipher. We are extremely excited to welcome them to our law enforcement community.

After consultation with the Forest Service and Fire officials, the Washington County Commission and the Sheriff will lift all evacuation orders on all cabins in the Pine Valley area, effective 7/12/16 at 0800 hours. Portions of the Pine Valley Wilderness area still remain closed to public access due to the fire and public safety concerns.

Fire personnel will still be in the area as they continue to monitor and strengthen defensible space surrou nding the cabins. Residents and visitors coming to the area are asked to monitor fire activity, and use caution around working fire resources. There will still be smoke in the area from fire activity within fire control lines south of Lloyd s Canyon. Smoke in the area need not be reported as fire personnel will be monitoring the area.

We are grateful for the cooperation of residents and visitors in complying with the evacuation orders and other direction given by fire managers. The temporary flight restriction remains in effect and drone operators are reminded that the use of a drone in the fire area is a violation of FAA regulations and can result in the disruption of aerial fire attack. Those with questions can contact (435)652-3100. ‪#‎ SaddleFire‬

Some Sheriffs in the state are receiving emails from their constituents concerning House Bill 276 The Utah Public Lands Management Act. We have reviewed the bill with Representative Noel and provide the following information:

St. George City Police Department, Hurricane City Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff s Office are working together to identify community members and caretakers of those who have a tendency to wander. Identified individuals may be eligible for a free service which will assist in quickly locating and returning their wandering loved one through the services of Project Lifesaver International.

Project Lifesaver is a public safety program specifically designed to protect and locate missing persons due to wandering, as a result of cognitive conditions such as Alzheimer s, dementia, Autism and Down Syndrome. Case Study: True Savings

We were asked to empty a neglected residence piled four-feet deep with trash. The owner had died, reportedly leaving a will written in a foreign language somewhere among the trash, probably on the back of a used postal envelope. We filled 10 dumpsters with garbage, sifting as we went. As impossible as it sounds, we found the will and other important documents on bits of scrap paper. During the process, we cleaned and deodorized the premises. We not only saved this neglected residence from the bulldozer, but also saved an inheritance for his heirs.

Are there any motels with cheap weekly rates in Orange County? #what

#motels with weekly rates

#

Timothy Horton. Many people have cell phones with wifi connection capability

Thank you for asking me the question but since I live in the Orange county area, actually Corona, I typically do not need a motel to lodge in. My suggestion is just get online and search for weekly rates but don t rule out Rooms for rent . You might someone that is in need of money and even a few hundred dollars would be helpful to them. However, if you do find a room versus a hotel or motel, your privacy and the security of personal items would be a concern.

I do travel a little and normally to Sacramento. I am also on a tight budget and since I an a male, not a small one lol, I have less fear of staying in a one star facility than a woman probably would. and I don t blame them a bit. But I have also stayed at nicer places and had some security and safety issues.

Typically in OC, the lessor rates are still $200.00 plus a week and taxes and weird charges. So, if you find a place that has weekly specials, make sure to verify, confirm, lock down the total costs. The little nickel and dime extra fees can add up in a hurry. I do remember seeing some motel weekly room specials adjacent to the 55 Freeway in Costa Mesa, I believe was less than $200.00 per week. There are a few inexpensive motels in Costa Mesa, just be a little extra careful in that area.

One more possibility. I don t know if you are a person of faith in a specific denomination, but another consideration would be a kind hearted same denominational person willing to put you up for your visit. Don t be shy! I am a Seventh Day Adventist and I would have no problem finding the closest Adventist Church, in the area I would be staying in, and contacting the Church to see if they have a bulletin board with room listings or the pastor might even know of someone that could benefit by your stay.

When I travel, business of pleasure, as long as the room is clean, the plumbing works and the bed is not a concrete slab I am good with it. Of course. gotta have WiFi.

20 Gorgeous Living Room Furniture Arrangements

Today, we will be posting pictures about living room furniture arrangements. These are pretty interesting photos because we get to see however common we think interior design is, we will be able to notice that each furniture, each decor, each plant inside a living room was planned to serve the homeowners with comfort and yet still be in style.

These 20 Gorgeous Living Room Furniture Arrangements show how chairs or sofas were placed where they are maybe because of lighting or even to avoid too much light. Even when we think that arrangement is merely placing items in areas which we wanted, it s not always the case, take a look at our collection.

Adelson

One cool thing about modern furniture is that some of them are multi-purpose, just like the center table that has storage boxes underneath it that can be used as stools too!

How do you like the cow leather in the middle of the coffee table? It gives off a masculine feel but at the same time, it neutralizes all the greys and blacks in the room.

Do you like the Dunn Edwards Cream Wave color for the walls? They look awesome paired with the furniture available for this living room. Even the fireplace with stacked split face Marbella stone look incredible.

Modern House

According to the designers, this marsh-side home strongly embraces native landscape using a strictly modern aesthetic. The owner, an amateur astronomer, requested the architecture be invigorating and dynamic and include a telescope platform and lap pool. The building comprises a tower, a bridge, a suspended living room above the outdoor terrace, and a guest wing. The arrangement of spaces and cladding strategically create privacy, simultaneously providing unobstructed views of the marsh and surrounding landscape.

Gorgeous granite was used around the fireplace which made the room more modern and rather refreshing to the eyes. The white, black and grey motif of this living room show sophistication and class.

We love the great bold choices done for this living room like the armillary sphere floor lamps that makes this room a bit industrial but by checking the furniture with the beige armchairs and brown leather sofa, this living space is indeed contemporary.

Project: Clean Carpets

Comments: I am impressed with your entire organization. Sarah was very professional and Dean was a miracle worker! Amy Curtis are always great to work with. No wonder they are successful!

Mary Kay Andrews , Southern, Connecticut

Project: Clean Carpets

Comments: One of the best experiences I’ve had with a company working in my home. The two best words to describe my experience is professional and courteous. The carpets looked outstanding upon completion. I was impressed with the consideration given to my home, woodwork was protected with tape and the gentleman that cleaned out carpet took pride in his work. Al did a wonderful job and my husband and I were very happy with his work. The results were impressive. My home feels so clean. The carpet on the stairs had some stains and now they look amazing. It makes me realize how much dust settles on the carpet and even with a regular vacuuming, how much healthier it is to have the carpets cleaned especially since I suffer from seasonal allergies.

Janice Sirote , Southern, Connecticut

Project: Clean Carpets

Comments: PCS was very professional. They called to confirm as well as sent a written confirmation of the appointment. The technician phoned when he was on his way and used shoe covers each time he entered the house. He arrived promptly and completed the job in a short time. PCS was able to remove a pet stain that we were sure would never come out. The technician was extremely tolerant of our dog who, in his playful way, stole the paperwork out of the technician’s hand!

D. Zygmunt , Seymour, Connecticut

Project: Carpet Cleaning

Comments: Professional Carpet Systems were very professional. I appreciated the calls to confirm my appointment several days before and the night before. I was happy that I could get all 3 things I needed done to the carpet from one source. I had my carpet re-stretched, spot dyed and cleaned all from PCS.

Debby Kasowitz , Orange, Connecticut

Project: Carpet Cleaning

Comments: Al was very thoughtful with his cleaning and putting blocks under the furniture. He had an excellent attitude with helping move furniture and he went above and beyond to answer all of my questions. All of the pet stains and fur were removed from my carpet. Great Job!

David Gombas , Shelton, Connecticut

Project: Carpet Cleaning

Comments: Your customer service is excellent. You have an incredibly professional, nice team. Over the phone and in person. You are the A-TEAM! I thought the carpet in my new home would need to be replaced, however, Professional Carpet Systems made it like new. Also, my oriental rug is brighter and smells cleaner/better than when I purchased it from a reputable local dealer. THANK YOU!

Amy Fleming , Rowayton, Connecticut

Project: Carpet Cleaning

Comments: We were very grateful to talk to someone knowledgeable of our problem. (skunk odor). Amy was very helpful in accomodating our immediate need in scheduling someone to come out the very next day. This was even more amazing because I called late one evening and they came the very next day. PCS has very courteous servicemen and are very complete in the service requested. We now have an odor-free home! It is truly amazing.

The Breton’s , Oxford, Connecticut

Project: Carpet Cleaning

Comments: I have been 100% satisfied every time you come. Years ago when we rented a machine and cleaned our own carpets it was so messy and the results never lasted because of the residue which the cleaners left behind – to say nothing of the inconvenience of lugging the machine home and returning it to the store. Everyone who I have recommended you to have been very happy. Curtis always wears protective covers on his shoes, uses protectors at the corners of doorways, puts tabs or blocks under furniture legs and never leaves a mess or extra work behind. I was pleasantly surprised to see that he replaced my recliner which I lifted onto the bed to make ready for the cleaning. The best part is he does all this and more without being asked. (So rare in this day and age.)

Sandy Chemlen , Oxford, Connecticut

Project: Carpet Cleaning

Comments: Professional Carpet Systems did a beautiful job on my carpets. They are clean and as full as the day I purchased them. Carpets have an extreme clean sent. Dean was very friendly and courteous. He performed an excellent job. He promptly arrived and started the job. The job was quickly performed with great results.

Carol Bender , Southern, Connecticut

Project: Carpet Cleaning and Pet Urine

Comments: Your people do a great job, are very professional and knowledgeable. They are prompt and courteous. We had a dog and had urine stains in the living room. Other companies had tried to get out the stains but your company was the only one that worked. My living room looks brand new and I was amazed how the final raking made the carpet look incredible. Could you please let me know if I can buy one of those rakes from you and how much it would cost?

Weslie Goldfarb , Southern, Connecticut

Project: Carpet Cleaning

Comments: From the time Amy arrived to provide an estimate through the time that Curtis stretched the carpet and Al did the cleaning, every step in the process was professional, pleasant and punctual. Amy explained that some of the furniture indentations might not completely come back up – but she was wrong. After 6 years of indentations EVERY spot bounced back up. It was AMAZING!! Curtis also did such a fabulous job of re-stretching the carpet, it looks better now than when it was first installed.

Mary Ann Brown , Wallingford, Connecticut

Project: Mold Removal

Comments: Thank you so much for a job well done on my car. I didn t think it could be saved. What an amazing job of mold removal.

Phillips takes issues from EMS to DC #bullitt #county #ems

#

Monday, May 21, 2012 at 2:04 pm (Updated: May 21, 5:14 pm)

WASHINGTON – Bullitt County EMS director Mike Phillips met with Kentucky s Congressional members and their legislative staff this week in Washington, D.C. to discuss some of the challenges that Medicare funding, medication shortages, revised ambulance specifications and federal death benefits present for emergency medical services agencies across Kentucky.

Representatives of the Kentucky Ambulance Providers Association have travelled to Washington seven out of the past nine years.

One of the messages that was delivered is that ambulance providers are facing serious financial burdens because of chronic, below-cost, Medicare reimbursements. Medicare reimbursements are a large portion of the payments for ambulance service, with Medicare patients accounting on average for 50% of ambulance transports across the country. According to a Government

Accountability Office study, ambulance providers are paid on average 6% to 17% below cost to provide ambulance services to Medicare patients.

Temporary Medicare ambulance relief has historically been extended along with the physician fee schedule fixes. The association is asking Kentucky s Congressional members to support the Medicare Ambulance Access Preservation Act, introduced in the Senate by Senator Charles E. Schumer (NY) and Senator Pat Roberts (NY), and introduced in the House by Congressman Charles Boustany (LA) and Congressman Richard E. Neal (MA).

The association also discussed nationwide shortages of medications that are essential to the work that ambulance personnel do. Congressional members told the association that medication shortages are currently being discussed in the upcoming Prescription Drug User Fee Act reauthorization.

The association also discussed how the General Services Administration (GSA) plans to replace the current ambulance specifications with a new set developed by the National Fire Protection Association. It is estimated that these changes will increase the cost of purchasing a new ambulance by $8,000 to $12,000 per vehicle.

The association also asked for support of the Public Safety Officers Benefit Improvement Act, which would extend federal death and disability benefits to non-profit nongovernmental paramedics and emergency medical technicians.

Dentistry is a unique blend of art, science and compassion, and I find it tremendously rewarding. My favorite part of dentistry is meeting someone who has had an unpleasant dental past and pampering them in our office. We open their eyes to a different world of dentistry, one based on comfort, beauty and trust, and I know we’ve done things right when I get a hug at the end of a visit

Dr. Foulk

I grew up in Vacaville, California until age 11 when my family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. My father is an orthodontist, so I became interested in dentistry by watching and working with him. It’s extremely satisfying to help a patient who has dental needs to gain a functional and beautiful smile. In orthodontics, I saw many children and teenagers whose self-confidence greatly increased when their treatment was completed. This gave me the desire to pursue dentistry as a career

As different as they may be, vocational schools and colleges still have several things in common, such as the additional courses or the financial planning advice students can opt for.

Riverside County trade school classroom environment

One of the main differences between trade schools and colleges is that the first ones offer a wide array of services in addition to education, such as housing or childcare either free of charge or at a very low price this does not happen with college programs.

Looking At What Trade Schools Can Do For You

Trade schools are time-effective and student-oriented, they teach the student only the skills he will need for his dream job. Besides, another notable benefit is that it usually take only one year to complete a trade school program, unlike it happens with college programs where programs take up to 4 years.

At the same time, just like colleges the trade schools offer not only degrees and diplomas, but different levels o certification as well. This certification along with the wide set of skills will boost the student s chances of getting hired right after graduation.

Further Info On Riverside County, California

Highly trained technicians and specialists will always be appreciated in vocational jobs, especially since there is such a shortage of skilled workers in Riverside County. Those who want to pursue a career that has plenty of advancement options should opt for trade schools, as the programs here will give the student all the skills and knowledge he needs to succeed, professionally speaking.

Trade School Subjects

There are many different subjects that trade school students can learn, we re just presenting a bare sampling below. Perhaps they can give you an idea of what to pursue as a career?

  • Appliance Installation and Repair
  • Airport Management
  • Building Maintenance and Improvement
  • Carpentry
  • Electrician
  • HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration)
  • Landscaping
  • Plumbing
  • Gunsmithing
  • Locksmithing and Safe Repair
  • Aircraft Mechanics
  • Auto Mechanics
  • Diesel Mechanics
  • Motorcycle Mechanics
  • Commercial Vehicle Operation
  • Welding

Trade School Or College?

The answer to this question is very simple: while vocational schools focus on extensive practical training, colleges put greater emphasis on theoretical training and the hands-on experience will usually follow several years after that.

Besides, the overall cost of the training should not be neglected either. Last, but not least, students that graduate from a trade school are more likely to find a job given the fact that they already have experience, unlike many college graduates that have little to no experience, which is vital when getting a job.

Trouble Breathing Through Your Nose? Latest treatment for nasal obstruction is the Latera implant

Nasal obstruction can be caused by many factors including a deviated septum (the wall on the inside of your nose that separates the right and left nasal passages), inferior turbinate hypertrophy (structures within your nose that help warm and humidify the air that enters your nose), or weakened cartilage on the outside of your nose to name a few. If the septum is crooked or the inferior turbinates are large, this problem can be corrected with a septoplasty that straightens the septum or an inferior turbinate reduction. These are relatively easy procedures to perform and typically do not lead to any cosmetic deformity of the nose because the surgery is performed inside your nose.

Other RN schools in Orange County CA?

I realize it’s not in OC, but Cal State LB is pretty close to you, and you could get your bachelor’s in two years in the trimester program. I’m in my sixth semester there and it has been challenging but great. If you really don’t like where you are, look into transferring. There isn’t a waiting list, and I know Saddleback just switched their admissions and now they don’t have a waiting list either. I think Goldenwest does, though, so that might not be your best bet. Good luck!

I live in Aliso Viejo and I’m on a program at San Bernardino University. It is a long drive, but I don’t mind. I’m a partnership Riverside Community Hospital- CSUSB student and have all of my clinicals at RCH, where I would I will be working after graduating. This is an accelerated program and I will have my BSN in 2 years. I think that having BSN is better. I’ve heard that Long Beach is very impacted and it is hard to get in, so I did’t even try to apply. I’ve applied to San Marcos University, CSUSB and Saddleback. I got into CSUSM, CSUSB and didn’t get into Saddleback, but I didn’t care, since I was already going to CSUSB. It is much easier to get on a program at CSUSB because they accept 80 students 2 x a year. There is one transfer student in my class, she transferred from Loma Linda.

i really did not want to deal w/a bachelors right now. i already have a ba from years ago, so i just wanted the rn. i heard that saddleback was crazy hard like cypress. is the time commitment outside of class insane? this is my typical tues: class from 800-1130, drive 40 min to hosp to p/u assign, get pat. and fill out paper work for about 1 1/2-2 hrs, drive home 45-1hr, eat dinner, start prep work for oh 3-5 hrs. go to bed hopefullly sleep 6 hrs (most stu sleep w/only 3 or 4, but i refuse, i’m too old ), wed. get up 430, work 630-1600, go home hr drive home, eat, home work 3-5 hrs. hellish, i’m telling you. is this normal for you all? thanks for the info!

that sounds about normal. i’m attending csulb’s nursing program, but i live in mission viejo (south oc) and have taken classes at saddleback.

have u tried looking into santa ana college?

you mentioned you have a BA. some colleges have a 15 month program to get a second bachelor’s in nursing. it’s just as tedious as getting your associate’s degree in nursing too, but at least you’re getting a higher degree for the same work.

I go to school only 2 times a week T-Th. Last quarter I had clinicals from 6:45 to 12:00 and a lecture from 14:00 to 15:50. Only 7 units, where at Saddleback there are 15 units/semester. Next quarter I will have 11 units and the same days of the week. The clinicals will be the same, but the lecture will be from 13:00 to 17:50. I also have BS degree and I’m not very young. If you will apply to CSULB, they will only consider you for the accelerated 1 y 4 mo program, which is very hard, my friend is on this program.

saddleback doesn’t have 15 units of nursing a semester. that’s only if you include general education, which many students who enter have already fulfilled. saddleback has an average of 7 units of core nursing a semester.

Majors

Albright’s ADP curriculum features an accelerated seminar format with intense use of the Internet as well as additional computer technology. Interaction between students is emphasized and much of this collaboration involves applied group activities.

While traditional classes meet 40-44 hours per semester, Albright’s ADP courses meet for four hours per evening for five to seven weeks. Remaining class time is fulfilled by a combination of Internet usage and independent study.

Through a special partnership with Reading Area Community College, Delaware County Community College, Harrisburg Area Community College, Lehigh Carbon Community College, Montgomery County Community College, Northampton Community College, and Warren County Community College, most associate degrees (A.A. or A.S.) from these colleges transfer fully to Albright ADP (and acceptance is automatic if all Albright transfer admissions criteria are met.) Albright College offers a $2,500-3,200 Partner Scholarship based on GPA to graduates of these colleges. (Any applicant with an Associates Degree is eligible for a $2,500 scholarship.)

ADP offers bachelor’s degrees in:

Accounting: The accelerated program in accounting prepares students for careers in public and private accounting and in obtaining professional certifications. This major also provides students with a strong foundation for entering a graduate school program.

Business Administration: The accelerated program in business administration prepares students for a wide variety of careers in finance, banking, marketing and management. This major also provides students with a strong foundation for entering a graduate school program.

Crime & Justice: The accelerated program in crime and justice involves an analysis of criminal deviance and its roots, plus an in-depth understanding of our criminal justice system’s successes and failures. Unlike other criminal justice programs, students are not trained specifically for police work. Rather, students are educated in the academic study of crime, criminology and justice in preparation for a variety of positions within the criminal justice system.

Digital Communications: Albright College offers one of the only evening accelerated-hybrid programs in Digital Communications in the area. Focus on strategic communication across media platforms including publications, videos, and websites in the Albright College Digital Communications program. (This program is currently offered exclusively at our Reading location.)

Computer and Information Systems: The accelerated program in information systems is based on common structures and degree programs in the United States and Canada. It also meets the recommendation of the Association for Computing Machinery, which sets a variety of standards in technology fields, as well as graduate study programs.

Organizational Behavior / Applied Psychology: The accelerated program in organizational behavior / applied psychology prepares students for a wide variety of careers in social services, management, human resources, training and development. This major also provides students with a strong foundation for entering a graduate program.

Information Systems and Management: Albright s distinctive new major in information systems and management (ISAM) is designed to provide students with both the technical skills and the business acumen required to excel in information systems and business environments.

HAMLIN – Lincoln County Sheriff Gary Linville and his deputies, assisted by Alan Ashworth of the Hamlin Police Department, uncovered a large number of marijuana plants in an operation in Lincoln County, Wednesday, June 7, 2017.

According to a criminal complaint being filed in Lincoln County Magistrate Court late tonight (Wednesday, June 7), Corporal Anthony Adkins, along with Sheriff Linville and other deputies, conducted a search of a wooded area on Flat Creek Road. The sheriff’s department had received numerous tips regarding the accused, named as Jeffery Terry, allegedly growing marijuana plants behind his camper. (more)

HAMLIN – A hair salon, located at the same premises as a previous salon shuttered for a number of years, celebrated its opening last week with a fine turnout of friends, family, and business leaders. Samantha Payton has opened Styles Unlimited at the eastern end of Hamlin, next to Hamlin Subway. The businessпїЅ first full day was Thursday, June 1, 2017. HAMLIN – As required by statute, the Lincoln County Board of Education last week approved a $42.76 million budget for the fiscal year set to get underway just over three weeks from now. The board convened in Hamlin for the last regular session of the month, held Tuesday lunchtime, May 30, 2017. In a 35-minute presentation, Treasurer Ray Ellis briefed the board on the budget, essentially his first since becoming chief financial officer around a year ago. He paid tribute to officials in a number of other counties and at the West Virginia Department of Education for their assistance during the process in recent weeks.
During the update, the county school systemпїЅs two main funds were discussed. The General Fund has been budgeted $36.215 million for the coming year. The Special Revenue Fund has been set at $7.549 million. The combined total of $42,765,430 for the year equates an average spend of $12,080 per student in the school system. (more)

пїЅAdministration heads to Supreme Court seeking
speedy decision on proceeding with enforcement

    By SEпїЅN OпїЅDONOGHUE

RICHMOND, VA – U.S. Circuit Judge Stephanie Thacker joined a clear majority of her colleagues in a 10-3 ruling recently, upholding an injunction against the revised travel ban issued by the President Donald TrumpпїЅs administration earlier this year. The decision followed an en banc hearing before 13 judges of the Fourth Circuit of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia. Thacker wrote a concurring opinion. In response, late last week, the Administration took the matter to the Supreme Court, seeking a speedy decision on whether it can proceed with enforcement of the orders, blocked to date by a number of federal courts around the nation.

In her concurring opinion, Judge Thacker did not take issue with TrumpпїЅs various utterances as a candidate. She did, however, pay closer scrutiny to what President Trump said upon his inauguration and since, and to what his staff and advisors have said in various media appearances and elsewhere. “While on the campaign trail, a non-incumbent presidential candidate has not yet taken the oath to пїЅpreserve, protect and defend the Constitution,пїЅ and may speak to a host of promises merely to curry favor with the electorate,пїЅ she wrote. “Once a candidate becomes President, however, the Constitution vests that individual with the awesome power of the executive office while simultaneously imposing constraints on that power,пїЅ Judge Thacker added. With regard to focusing on the Establishment Clause focus of the case at hand, Judge Thacker said she felt the court should focus its attention on conduct occurring on President TrumpпїЅs inauguration date and thereafter. * State approval pending
1 offered with Camden County College
2 offered with Mercer County Technical Schools
    3 offered with Rider University
4 A.S. degree awarded by MCCC; Diploma awarded by St. Francis Medical Center School of Nursing
5 A.S. degree awarded through a cooperative program with the School of
Health Related Professions at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey

6 A.A.S. degree awarded through a cooperative program with Brookdale Community College

The academic programs offered by Mercer County Community College are among the most diversified and comprehensive in the country. Included are transfer programs that prepare students for entry into baccalaureate programs and career programs that prepare students for immediate employment after graduation.

The terms “transfer” or “career” simply describe the primary objective of the program. Many transfer graduates have been successful in gaining employment upon graduation. Many graduates of career programs have been successful in transferring to four-year colleges, with many of their MCCC credits being accepted.

In general, both kinds of degree programs require no more than 66 credits for graduation.

Because Mercer is committed to promoting intellectual development, aesthetic appreciation, and cultural awareness, every program of study includes a general education component. This component, addressed through a variety of courses, focuses on reading analytically, communicating ideas clearly, solving problems, and developing a broad base of knowledge. Students are given the opportunity to develop analytical, synthetic/creative, and evaluative thinking; scientific reasoning; artistic response and expression; historical consciousness; cultural awareness; and sensitivity to the contemporary world.

Transfer degree (A.A. A.F.A. or A.S.) programs are designed primarily to enable students to enter the third year of baccalaureate study at four-year colleges. The largest student enrollments in transfer degree programs are in humanities and social science, business administration, education, criminal justice, and nursing. Other transfer degree programs range from architecture, communication and visual arts to engineering science and plant science.

For many students, the transfer experience is made easier by “dual admission” and “program articulation” agreements between Mercer and other colleges.

Career degree (A.A.S.) programs are designed primarily to prepare graduates for entry-level employment in an occupation which requires both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Mercer has A.A.S. programs as varied as accounting, aviation, chef apprenticeship, electronics, ornamental horticulture, microcomputer systems administration, television, funeral service, and computer graphics.

Two engineering technology programs function both as transfer degree and career degree programs, with slightly more than half of all graduates transferring to four-year technology programs and others finding employment. Many employed students use career programs to gain advanced positions in their chosen field or to change careers. Some other A.A.S. programs also provide a basis for transfer to four-year colleges; a student may lose credits, however, if he or she transfers to an unrelated program of study.

Many students enroll at Mercer for purposes other than earning a degree or certificate. The college offers four enrollment categories for such students:

    • Other college — Students take courses at Mercer to fulfill program requirements at another college.
    • Job Related — Students take courses specifically selected to enhance knowledge and skills for current or future employment.
    • Exploratory — Students are undecided about which degree or certificate program they intend to pursue. They may take courses from several program areas to help them select.
    • Personal — Students take courses for other reasons. Advisors at each campus help non-degree students select courses.

Mercer offers a comprehensive program for students who are learning English as a second language. The multilevel sequence consists of two pre-credit and eight credit courses that emphasize grammar, speech, reading and writing skills. The free ESL placement test, arranged through the ESL Learning Center, should be completed at least two weeks before registration for classes.

The noncredit preparatory courses are offered through the English Language Institute (ELI) at the James Kerney and West Windsor campuses. Contact ELI at the James Kerney Campus or the ESL Learning Center at the West Windsor Campus for further information.

The LPN-RN advanced placement option offers licensed practical nurses (LPNs) the opportunity to gain experiential credit for their LPN license and receive credit for Fundamental Concepts of Nursing (NRS 110). Applicants must possess a high school diploma (or equivalent), have graduated from an accredited LPN school, possess a valid New Jersey LPN license and complete all the prerequisite course requirements for the nursing curriculum.

Admission to the professional phase of the program requires a minimum GPA of 2.5 and a passing score on the HESI Admission Assessment Exam. Six credits are given for Fundamental Concepts of Nursing (NRS 110). The student is then able to enroll in Alterations in Health I (NRS 120), Alterations in Health II (NRS 121), or Concepts of Mental Health Nursing (NRS 123). Students must earn a minimum grade of C in all nursing, science, and mathematics courses to graduate.

Please note that admission to either of the LPN-RN Advanced Placement program options are on a space available basis only.

Students who complete the college’s Nursing program earn the Associate in Science (A.S.) degree and eligibility to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Registered Nurses (RNs).

Cooperative education integrates textbook and classroom learning with work experience. Several academic programs offer cooperative education components. The program affords many advantages to students who are able to earn an income while attending college and earn college credits for their cooperative education experiences. In addition, many graduates find employment easier to obtain if they have had prior work experiences.

A successful co-op experience requires careful delineation of learning objectives and employer willingness to support them. The college assists students in defining objectives and obtaining co-op positions.

Types of Employment Law include the following:

Discrimination in the workplace is illegal according to both California and Federal laws. Types of discrimination include:

It is illegal for employers to terminate employees or discipline them unfairly under certain conditions. These conditions include:

    • Whistleblower termination
    • Termination for refusal to perform an illegal act

Retaliation refers to a prohibited employment action (e.g. termination or discipline) taken against an employee as a result of a his or her participation in a legally protected activity. These legally protected activities inclue:

    • filing a discrimination lawsuit
    • joining a collective action class action
    • giving testimony in a discrimination suit

Sexual Harassment describes an unwelcome sexual advance by an employer or supervisor that represents a threat to the employee’s employment or becomes a condition of continued employment. Additionally, such harassment can be classified as a “hostile work environment” when the presence of demeaning or sexual photographs, jokes, threats, or overall atmosphere is so pervasive as to create an intimidating and offensive work environment.

Learn About Orange County Family Court and How Divorce Cases are Handled

Welcome to our Orange County Family Court page. Here, we will go through and explain how the Family Court in our county works in the handling of divorce and family law cases. Our focus will be on divorce and paternity actions. Let’s get started.

Orange County Family Court address and directions.

The Orange County Family Court has two locations, the courthouse located at 341 The City Drive West in the City of Orange and the courthouse located at 700 Civic Center Drive West in the City of Santa Ana. The Santa Ana Courthouse recently took on part of the family law operations in 2015. Before the change, the Orange location, known as the Lamoreaux Justice Center, housed all of the family law departments.

The court’s phone number is (657) 622-6069. For each department, here is how it works:

Departments at the Lamoreaux Justice Center start with (657) 622-55 and then the department number. For example, department L62 would be (657) 622-5562. The “L” refers to “Lamoreaux” which is the name of the court. The Central Justice Center is Santa Ana works the same way except the number starts with (657) 622-52 and then the department number.

The Orange County Family Court is a secure building.

If you have a court appearance at the Family Court, we suggest you get there early. While parking is plentiful in a structure within a very short walking distance, the line builds up quickly. At the Lamoreaux Justice Center, there are two lines that lead into the family court. One of them is for the public. The other one is for court staff and lawyers. Since you will be entering through the public one, we suggest you get there a minimum of 30 minutes before your court-ordered appearance. The Central Justice Center has entrances on the two main sides of the building.

In addition to the line, there is a security checkpoint inside where you will have to take all metals of your pocket and go through a detector. This includes your belt, change, keys, wallets, watches, etc. The Family Court is very serious about its security and it is easy for the line through the metal detector to back up.

    Orange County Family Court departments.

The OC Family Court Judges are divided between the courthouse in Orange and the one in Santa Ana. The L refers to the Lamoreaux Justice Center (the Orange Courthouse). The C refers to the Central Justice Center (the Santa Ana Courthouse).

The Family Court departments, as of the date this page is written, include the following:

    1. C63 Judge Claudia J. Silbar
    2. C65 Judge Mark S. Millard
    3. L11 Commissioner Renee E. Wilson
    4. L51 Commissioner Paula Coleman
    5. L52 Judge Erick L. Larsh
    6. L53 Judge John L. Flynn, III
    7. L60 Frank Ospino
    8. L61 Commissioner Barry S. Michaelson
    9. L62 Judge Franz Miller
    10. L63 Judge Mark M. Kelly
    11. L64 Judge Carla M. Singer
    12. L65 Judge Franz E. Miller
    13. L66 Supervising Family Law Judge Lon F. Hurwitz
    14. L67 Judge Julie A. Palafox
    15. L68 Judge Donald L. Gaffney
    16. L69 Judge Sherri L. Honer
    17. L611 Judge James L. Waltz
    18. L71 Judge Daphne S. Scott
    19. L72 Judge Salvador Sarmiento
    20. L73 Judge Clay M. Smith

Orange County Family Court child support services cases and panel.

The Family Court has judicial officers who handle the Orange County Department of Child Support Services cases. These are cases handled by the Department who initiate the cases. At the current time, the judicial officers that handle child support services cases are:

    1. L51 Commissioner Paula J. Coleman (Cases ending in 00-49)
    2. L54 Commissioner Duane Neary (Cases ending in 50-99)

Difference between a judge and a commissioner.

The difference between a judge and a commissioner is simple. A judge is either elected by the people or the Governor appoints one. The Supervising Judge of Orange County appoints an O.C. Commissioner. A Commissioner s duties, responsibilities and, for the most part, powers are the same although a Commissioner can be removed at any time.

How the Orange County Family Court handles family law cases.

Divorce or paternity cases are assigned to an individual judge or commissioner after they are filed. That means one Orange County judge or commissioner will hear your case from beginning to end. It does not always work out that way.

Sometimes, a judicial officer may be sick or on vacation. Sometimes, the judicial officer will not have time for your case but because your matter is considered time sensitive, it will be assigned to a different court room that is available to hear it. This is the exception and not the rule at the Orange County Family Court.

Orange County Family Court clerk’s office on the 7th floor.

The Family Court clerk’s office is on the 7th floor of the Lamoreaux Justice Center in Orange. It is currently divided into two sections. One section is dedicated to the public. Another is for lawyers. Each section has clerks who assist with filing paperwork or helping you obtain copies of what you may need.

Family law clerks will not give you legal advice.

At the clerk’s office, you will also find computers that allow you to search for cases if you have a case number or last name. Paternity cases however are not available because those are confidential.

Orange County Family Court Mediation department.

The contact information for the mediation department is:

    Fifth Floor, Room 507 Telephone (657) 622-6196 TDD (657) 622-8390 Office hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

To learn more about child custody mediation that precedes any child custody hearing in Orange County, please visit our California child custody law page.

Orange County Family Court self-help center.

The self-help center is located in room 101 of the Family Law Courthouse in Orange.

The self-help center can help you prepare basic divorce and family law forms and documents.

They also have workshops, “how to” form packets and booklets and other ways to help you represent yourself. While self-representation is never the best course of action, on very simple, no asset cases that involve minimal support or custody issues or situations where the person simply cannot afford a lawyer, we understand self-representation is the realistic alternative. Fortunately, the self-help center can assist with those types of cases.

The self-help center is open Monday through Thursday 8:00am to 4:00pm and Friday 8:00am to 3:00pm.

    Orange County Family Law Facilitator.

The OC Family law facilitator’s office is also located in Room 101 of the Lamoreaux Justice Center.

Here is some important information you should know about the Orange County Family Law Facilitator:

    • The family law facilitator is an experienced attorney.
    • The family law facilitator is not your attorney. What you tell him or her is not confidential.
    • The facilitator will generally help you and your spouse or the other parent if you were not married.
    • The facilitator is not a substitute for getting your own lawyer if you want specific legal advice about your case and how you should handle it.
    • The family law facilitator helps only with child suppor t cases.
    • The family law facilitator helps on a first-come, first served basis. You have to be ready when you meet with the facilitator with your paperwork that they will need to assist with your case.

Orange County Family Law Local Rules.

Orange County Family Court has a set of local rules that apply to every Family law case. This includes divorce and paternity cases.

Hope you found this page helpful. Please contact our divorce lawyers if you have any questions and need an affordable strategy session about your situation.

At OC Plumber, our Orange County plumbers take true pride in the plumbing services we offer, both commercial and residential. We are available 24 hours, 7 days a week anywhere in Orange County. Our plumbing team consists of only licensed, experienced professionals. We have all the proper, up-to-date equipment, so we re able to take care of any plumbing problem, from a simple clogged drain, to a complete copper re-piping job. There s NO work too small, or too big. We only use the best materials, so your service will always be of the highest quality. When it comes to hiring a licensed plumber in Orange County, here s OUR view on things.

    • You should feel comfortable asking questions

The bottom line is, we re working in your home. A truly professional plumber won t take offense to any questions asked. It doesn t matter whether you re meeting them in person, or talking on the phone. We want you to be as informed as possible before you make any decisions.

    • Before you have a plumber come over to your house, make sure you know what the service charge is.

It doesn t matter whether it s a Tuesday morning, or 1:00am on a Sunday morning. Our service charge is always a flat $35. In Orange County there aren t many plumbers like us that don t charge more for after hours work.

    • Will you have to pay by the hour, or will you be billed by the job?

We don t charge by the hour at OC Plumber. There will be NO surprises. What we quote is what gets billed, nothing more.

    • Getting multiple bids from different plumbers in Orange County is completely normal.

In our daily lives, we shop around for the best price, and it s no different when dealing with your plumbing. So we realize that you, the customer, want a competitive rate. That is what we offer. Although you may be able to get a lower price from an inexperienced, unlicensed handyman claiming to be a plumber Orange County, going with an experienced expert will save you from headaches. It will also save you money down the road.

From the simplest clogged drain to a complete renovation project, we approach every job with professionalism, courtesy, and respect for the customer. When you make an appointment with us, we show up on time. All of our work is of the highest standard, and ALWAYS up to code. Please give us a call at ANYTIME with any questions, or to schedule an appointment. We look forward to assisting you in any way possible. Our reputation is much more valuable to us than making a quick buck. by Robert Reilly on G+

Some Sheriffs have access to on-line warrant searches in their jurisdiction, but users with warrants are advised to check with the court clerk directly to get detailed info on a warrant case.

On line search and look up for county jail inmates. Want to find your friend who was just arrested? Most counties publish on line access to inmates in county jail with information on how to contact the jail, post bail, and visit an inmate.

Video shows public defender asking trooper not to arrest him on DUI charge

An Orange County assistant public defender who police said had a blood alcohol level two-and-a-half times the legal limit asked the trooper who pulled him over not to arrest him, according to video of the Jan. 28 arrest.

“I’m one of the good ones. I am a good person,” said Derreck Quarles, 37, who was arrested on his birthday. He has been a member of the Florida Bar since September.

Quarles faces a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol after registering at .213 and .211 on a breath test, according to police reports. The legal limit in Florida is 0.08.

He was released on a $500 bond from the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Seminole County, and his arraignment is set for Feb. 24.

Quarles will continue to handle his regular caseload, said Robert Wesley, public defender for the Ninth Judicial Circuit.

“As defense lawyers we believe in the presumption of innocence, letting the legal system run the full course and that people make errors,” Wesley said in an email. “My entire career I have sided with the notion that people can improve themselves, overcome bad choices and stupid acts and still have a seat at my table.”

Quarles repeatedly asked Trooper Deborah Hawkins to take him home, saying he wanted to help people and that he would not drive drunk in the future.

Hawkins declined, explaining that he was under arrest and that she was taking him to jail.

“I know it’s hard to see this now, but you can use this,” Hawkins said. “You know you can. You’ll be able to teach people.”

    Motels in Orange County

    Hotel is fine but.

The hotel overall is good, clean and up to date in its décor. But once I got into my room, I could hear lots of noise from the inside of the building. I could hear people above and on the sides of my room. Dogs barking. Rooms being cleaned. There’s also a transit group of people that are living around the facility being right next to the Santa Ana River area, with signs on the doors to not leave valuables in the car. That all being said, the location is in a great place: location in a wonderful shopping center of restaurants, theater, right by a major freeway, Honda Center, the Artic, and Disneyland is about 10 minutes away. The staff was really nice and helpful. Like I said, the accommodations are good.

Situated in Orange, this aparthotel is within 1 mi (2 km) of Grove of Anaheim and Honda Center. Angel Stadium and Crystal More
