Harold Brown visiting for book signing August 22

Dr. Harold Brown, former Vice President for Academic Affairs, will be visiting Columbus State on August 22 with his new book “Keep Your Airspeed Up: The Story of a Tuskegee Airman.”

Brown, 93, retired from then-Columbus Technical Institute in 1986, and has kept up an active schedule running an educational consulting firm, writing, and touring the country as one of the few remaining members of the elite group of African-American U.S. Air Force pilots who made up the famous Tuskegee Airmen.

From 1942, until he was shot down over Germany and taken prisoner in 1945, Brown was a fighter pilot in the Red Tails unit, escorting B-24 bombers flying out of Italy in raids over Germany.

After the war, Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Ohio University, followed by a master’s and doctorate. He joined CTI in 1974 as an instructor, and was made vice president by the “other” Harold, Dr. Harold Nestor, soon afterward. Together they increased the enrollment of CTI four-fold, and started the college on its path to become a comprehensive community college in 1987.

Dr. Brown’s book is on sale now on Amazon, and he is visiting for a speech and book signing on Tuesday, August 22 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The event will be held in the WD 4th floor lobby and the West section of the Ballroom.

In an ongoing effort to provide high quality, inclusive counseling services for our students, everyone participated in training led by presenters from The Nationwide Center for Family Safety and Healing on the role of technology in dating violence and The Equitas Health Institute on mental health and substance abuse concerns in the LGBTQ community.

BOLD Christian University

Bold Christian University Is An Amazing Success

BOLD Christian University

Dear Dr. Otto,

Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ. How are you doing Sir? Here in the parish I am doing well.

I will never forget Bold Christian University. I still remember it as a true God’s tool for sharpening God’s servants for his ministry. The church in my area is growing as a result of evangelism we always do to reach the lost. This is a result of Bold Christian University. My studies at this university have opened my eyes to see the importance of reaching the lost and the strategies of how to reach them.

I always train men and women in my area how to reach the lost and the results are tremendous. We daily see people being added to the Lord. Praise Him! May the Lord richly bless you. In Him,

Dr. Elisha Ndema, Mwanza, Tanzania

I don’t know how you’re able to keep it up!

I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed this program this year. I know it’s not easy to deal with me via emails but you managed to keep up with me and answered all my questions and answered emails on time.Enjoy the rest of the school year. You’re doing a fantastic job!
