MOLD everywhere. My best friend brought her family here and they all got super sick and went to the ER in marina deal Rey, scared because they were getting headaches and coughing after their 2nd day! Don t do it, how ridiculous to pay so much per night and even after asking them to exchange rooms because her sister in law had a baby and they REFUSED said too bad because it was their third night and why didn t they complain earlier! Seriously what a joke! They then tried to blame her for breaking the toilet! Well I m going to show u pics of the old piece of crap and the mold all over the sink and room!

Unfortunately, the water took over 5 min to get hot. and it was backing up in the shower. We had to get someone to unclog the shower drain. He came and used a plunger that s used for the toilet. The next day was worse: there was standing dirty water in the shower, backed up and almost overflowing the bathroom. Disgusting.

Alright, first off, let me say that all I basically want at cheap priced hotels/motels is:

– air conditioning/ refrigerator
– a clean room (bug free), clean sheets, towels, etc.
– working toilet, sink and shower
– working door lock/ no theft from housekeeping
– parking lot
– safe-ish neighborhood

IMO, these should the basics every place should have to obtain repeat customers.

This place failed in the working shower requirement. We only stayed there 2 nights and both times I used the shower I had problems getting hot water. The first time, it took several minutes for the water to warm up and even then it fluctuated on me. The second time, it took FOREVER to get even warm water that I could wash my hair in without risking getting a cold afterwards. I even turned all the cold water off and turned the hot water knob full blast and it was just a tiny bit warm after more than 10 minutes of trying. This was just downright annoying.

The shower drain also took forever to drain the water out so that the next guy using the shower had to wait a while before going in.

They did fine in everything else tho. It had a microwave, fridge, tv with a movie channel and a weird porn channel with the upper left window of the screen showing it, a love seat sofa, AC worked pretty strong and they tidied up our room pretty neatly. Place was pretty darn clean with no bugs in site. Floor is tiled, not carpeted.

So you decide how important the shower is to you, it was REALLY important to me.

Good prices on most clothing but check all tags before purchase. Some of their boutique clothing is way overpriced. A lot of older styles and polyester type items mixed in with more modern items. Housewares, glassware, purses and shoes are reasonably priced. They have lots of old records, coffee mugs and costume jewelry too. The workers are volunteers and are nice to deal with although the older lady cashiers are super slow and get frustrated with the credit card machine. Worth a stop if you are in Berlin. Check out the Atlantic Hospital Thrift Store across the street by Tractor Supply as the prices are better on clothing.

Pikes Peak Hospice Palliative Care

This isn t the easiest place to write a review of because I just lost my dad there a couple days ago. But for anyone else that might have to go through something that hard, this place is amazing.

It s located on the 4th floor of the Medical Center and has an incredible staff, many of whom are volunteers with personal experiences there. The social worker and chaplain that came to speak with my mom were absolutely incredible and made things so much easier for her. They even help to set up things for after someone passes, which I know I appreciated because I had no idea what to do.

My sister and I spent a lot of time walking around the floor and there are beautiful pieces of art everywhere along with two sitting areas, each with a piano and small aviary (with finches and doves in it). It was just before Christmas so they also had trees and decorations up.

There is a cafeteria on the 5th floor (check the hours because it s not open all the time) that gives a discount to family members of someone in the hospice. And they have a pretty good selection of food too.

I had to telecommute while I was there, and the hospice offers a wifi just for family members to use. You just have to ask the front desk for the password.

These are a great bunch of people that made the hardest day of my life much easier to deal with. In the end when you re loved one passes, they even place a rose on the door. It s a small thing, but means a lot at the time.

Situations like this always leave me wishing there was a ZERO star rating. I had a terrible experience with Pikes Peak Hospice. There are some great nurses there, Tangee is really, really compassionate and knowledgeable. Several other day shift folks are great. BUT, if you stay the night with your loved one you will see a night shift that could care less if you end up being the one to care for your loved one. They certainly won t move at anything more than a snails pace to respond to a call light. They were deplorable.

However, it s the saleswoman Mimi that was really despicable. She put on a high pressure sales pitch that used car salesmen would be in awe of. She mentioned on numerous occasions that right now we have a bed open , making it sound like at any moment they might fill up and a bed would not be available any longer. She also refused to let us call and talk to the charge nurse and ask some detailed questions to someone who actually knew what kind of care was provided. Once we got in, there were probably 12 beds available, so it was abundantly clear that she was preying on us in order to close a deal. Here we are, with our father in the hospital on his way to dying and all Mimi cares about is selling us a bed. Enjoy that commission Mimi, I hope it buys you a lot of fans as you rot in hell.

I had never been in a hospice center. I liked this center was really nice. All the staff were very nice and respectful of my situation and my loved one. The place was very clean with many services for families who are facing the death of a relative. Everything was explained to me as what it was ahead of me.

Things to know, if you do have a someone who is going to die, you must know all of their personal information and the funeral arrangements, because as soon as the time comes, you must call the funeral home. There is not waiting time for this.

In care at the Haven was excellent but we had the VNSNY for home hospice care before my husband was admitted. It was horrible and has taken me two years since his death to stop blaming myself for not changing from them to a home hospice agency that really cared about the patient.
He was assigned a nurse that never showed up. We had a different nurse every time and they didn t even come every week.
Jim had kidney cancer that had spread to the lungs and spine. One week when his aid was on vacation, a young woman was sent to take her place. What a disaster. His bed sore became unbearable and he was out of some of his pain medication. There was no consistency of care. No one should ever go through what happened to him under VNSNY in home hospice care.
I m sorry Jim. I should have done more to make them care.

INFORMED CONSENT
Upon entering the facility, I was told that If my husband didn t die, he would have to go to rehab. Not knowing what to do, I had his feeding tube removed
Scott, the representative at NYU langone NEVER informed me that patients were supposed to die within a limited time frame. My husband should have been at Calvary.
They are the representatives of future DEATH PANELS and greedy for money
Don t allow their representatives to not give you complete info on what it means to enter their facility. They will kill your loved one within five days with morphine.
My husband died over three years ago and I still live with the guilt.

Not informed that patient would not be allowed to stay for six months or shorter, burt was told… Not informed that patient would not be allowed to stay for six months or shorter, burt was told only when he arrived that he could stay for 10 days and if he lived he could th g t rehab. Patient was paralyzed from the neck down with movement only in his right arm. From the neck up he could not speak and vision was damaged.I didn t know what to do so I had his feed ing tube removed. I should have been told beforehand
that this was not for six months. but only for patients in their final days. Patient could not have endured rehab
as he would have ended up with soiled diapers, bed sores and in pain and could not speak
Cavalry would have been the coorect choice.

The atmosphere here is calming, the facility is new, and the decor is tasteful. Around every turn there is something else to be pleasantly surprised by: live plants, a grand piano, a spa, a children s play area, bird feeders, surround sound in the rooms, stars projected onto the ceiling, the resident therapy pup. However, the real stars here are the staff. They cared for my grandma wonderfully during her final days, and the rest of my family as well. We never felt neglected or out of the loop and they went above and beyond to be sure the entire clan was comfortable. Hospice of Dayton is a very good choice for end-of-life and palliative care. As a nurse, I ve been to several other hospices, and this one outshines the others by far. I recommend this facility without reservation.

Schmoll s innovative and inspirational leadership led to the founding of Hospice of Dayton in 1978. The dramatic rise in identity theft over the last several years has resulted in many changes to the list of people and businesses that are legally entitled to request a Social Security number (SSN).

Not long ago, people provided their Social Security numbers without a second thought. Criminals took advantage of that complacency, and as a result, the federal government established the Identity Theft Task Force in 2006. One of the first recommendations the task force made was decreasing the unnecessary use of Social Security numbers. Much work remains in overcoming old procedures and habits in this regard, but any progress on this issue is better than the status quo.

Who has the right to request your SSN? Federal law mandates that state Departments of Motor Vehicles, tax authorities, welfare offices, and other governmental agencies request your SS number as proof that you are who you claim to be. However, the Privacy Act of 1974 requires that government agencies at the local, state, and federal level disclose to each person whether submitting your Social Security number is required, details on the use of this information, and what law or authority requires its use.

Please note that this Act stipulates that no one can deny you a government service or benefit for failing to provide your SSN unless federal law specifically requires it.

You aren t legally required to provide your SSN to businesses unless one of the following is true:

You ll be engaging in a transaction that requires notification to the Internal Revenue Service; or

You re initiating a financial transaction subject to federal Customer Identification Program rules.

If you refuse to provide your SSN, companies may choose not to do business with you, but there s no law that prevents them from asking for it. These are some examples of businesses that require a Social Security number for legitimate purposes:

I can only review one aspect of Wheatfields Hospice as I have only experienced the brick-a-brack sale they have twice a week to raise money, and not the care home element of it.

Formalities aside, I can now express my utter joy in sharing this charity shop style gem with all the Yelp readers. It is AMAZING! It is open at very odd times so some planning is required but is basically made up of a few small warehouse type buildings and a few large porter cabins and is a bargain hunters DREAM. One section houses second (or more) hand furniture like tables and sofas, and old bike parts. I picked up a large wooden mirror from here for only a few quid a while ago. Then there is a large section dedicated to clothing of all kinds. In fits of creativity I have raided this place for old clothes to cut up and turn into new clothes. Next to this there is book section with most books priced in true charity shop style at only 50p each, maybe a pound for a hardback. And there is even more – a room dedicated to junk of all kinds – plated, jars, old glasses, broken umbrellas, vases, trays, ornamental bits of glass. the list goes on. Basically any of the useless items you re likely to find in your granny s house amongst which are lying some glorious treasures. And finally, if you feel totally worn out by all this browsing there is a tea room with tea, coffee and home made cake – also a perfect place to hobnob with the local OAPs. So, finally, this is a great place to get down to if you ve moved into a new house and are looking for some cheap furniture or anything else second hand.

The store has some semblance of organization, but is still very cluttered, especially the furniture and large appliance area. Walk carefully! Clothing is well organized on racks with hangers. Pricing is my greatest complaint. They don t price merchandise to move out quickly to be replaced by newer donations. For example, I found a miniature ceramic house from Dollar Tree ($1.00) priced here at $3.00. I collect board games and found one I was interested in at double the price I can find a new in box copy on Amazon. When I compare this thrift store with the others in the area, such as AMVETS, Salvation Army, and even those horribly-run Goodwill stores, I see there is a different approach to pricing donated goods. And it s not one designed to make money for them.

Found some pretty lil things like teacups, table napkins and a few clothes. Some of their prices are a little high, some are good. I was glad I found some clothes that were 50%off that day. a pair of womens size(small) pants and 2 tops from $4 each to $2 ea. The store could need need some organizing especially the houseware and furnitures because they re placed everywhere. some are at the front, side and back of the store. The staff are nice. They re helpful especially that one older gentleman last 1/18/2016 at the counter who made sure all of my purchased stuff are wrapped securedly and placed in a box.

There is a lot of stuff here. Most of it belongs in the land fill. You can just tell most of their donations are from folks that want avoid to dump fees, so they bring it here. Everything seems to be broken or missing parts. The few quality, intact, items are WAY overpriced.

For example; Men s pants are $8. That s about twice the going price in other thrift stores.

Many items have no price tags so you have to hunt down an employee to get a price and they act belligerent that you disturbed them from their shelve stocking duties.

Park way behind the place to save your car from getting dinged up. Front parking is tight.

In October of 2005 Mission Hospice was started by Robin and Angie Houghton. Meet the Business Owner: Robin H.

Robin Houghton was born in 1956. He grew up a pastor s son; so caring for others came naturally from the beginning. Robin has a natural love of music and can often be found spending his free time playing his guitar or fiddle for hospice patients, which are his true passion. In 1996 Robin married Angela Bower, between them they have raised 5 kids.
Robin has always been in the business of caring for others. In 1992 he graduated with his RN from Southwestern Adventist University and went to work in the I.C.U then E.R. at John Peter Smith Hospital. He then answered a calling to hospice. He became a hospice nurse in 1996 and later his wife Angie who was also a nurse joined him. This is what sparked Mission Hospice.
In 2005 Mission Hospice started as a husband and wife team but because of a driving passion and warm, compassionate caring from the top down. Mission hospice grew into what is now a close nit team of about 115 employees and 50 volunteers who all go above and beyond.

Angela Hospice is the most incredible place. My mother has had Alzheimer s for over 13 years, and now the time has come for her to be released from her dementia hell. Thankfully, she is in the most beautiful facility where she is receiving incredibly nurturing care. Every single staff member is the highest quality professional–so caring and compassionate. I swear it s like dying in a spa (which is just her style, and probably why she is still here.) So I take solace in the fact that my mother is experiencing a good death. They not only take care of the patients, they take remarkable care of the entire family.

Angela Hospice is a very caring and special place. The staff are professional, empathetic and exceptional. The staff aren t perfect – after all they re only human but, Angela Hospice is like a family – they re consistent, reliable and caring. Angela Hospice itself isn t perfect but, they have NO EQUALS in this business period! I m speaking here from YEARS of experience as a family member of a terminally ill patient. Angela Hospice honestly is as good as it gets! If you re looking for perfection then, I guess you ll have to wait until you get to heaven. But, if you re looking for a place that is the best Hospice in Michigan bring your loved one here – I m so glad that I did!

The care and concern was very good at admission. However, the next morning we received a phone call that mom was dead-just like that. Yes, we knew it was inevitable, it is afterall a hospice . It s just that we had called Angela to check on her earlier that morning and were told her nurse was in report, no indication that she was on her way out. So we got dressed to go see her. On the way out of the door (approx. 2 hrs. later), we got the phone call. No idea when she died..likely alone. We have had experience with hospice care in the past-both in Michigan and out of state, and they usually inform family when the time is nearing (i.e. respirations, restlessness, etc.), so that they can say goodbye (or whatever rituals they might want to participate in). The evening before, we were told that her assessment indicated it could be weeks (even months-although we knew that was a stretch), before she passed. We would have stayed the night as she was gone less than 12 hours after we left her bedside. We were never given any information, just hurry up and make funeral arrangemants as they needed the room. We had not done that as it was an unexpected medical condition. Thestaff definitely needs to retake the inservice on giving the news and attending to those during their last breaths of life-afterall-it is hospice .

Great little motel. We stayed here for one night. The rooms are small but clean and exactly what you would expect for a little beach motel. We paid 175 for the night which is pricey for a motel however it s just a short walk to the beach, a trolley stop, and multiple restaurants. We didn t have to drive at all for the two days we were there. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and polite. The outdoor pool was very clean. They even have a grill and patio section set up. We didn t get to use this but will when we go back to stay again.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Footbridge Motel for three nights, and we were thoroughly pleased with the room, amenities, and the friendly staff that the motel provided. Upon arrival the woman that checked us into our room offered to upgrade us to a larger room with a larger bed free of charge. The motel rooms are newly remodeled, clean, and comfortable. The heated pool, and barbecues are great amenities that add to the value of your stay. You really get more for your money when booking your stay at the Footbridge!

I was happy with our stay here. The lady at the desk was friendly and offered us brochures of places to eat and things to do, and told us if we needed anything she would be there for us!

The room was great for the price, and close to the Footbridge Beach which was beautiful and relaxing with its white sand beaches.

Pros: close to everything in town and a great beach, nice staff, big comfy bed, great water pressure on the shower head!

Cons: the shower water went from freezing cold to scalding hot throughout my showers. I had to do a shower dance! The biggest downer was that I pre-paid for my room on a website and when we arrived, they had their off-season rates (probably because it was raining). I could have saved about $100 if I hadn t bought them online!

Like a throw back to a forgotten time! Cute little old Florida hotel. Check in was easy and got a map with detailed open/close times for the area. Park in front of your door so unloading luggage was easy! Bathroom was recently remodeled and looked like a 5 star hotel. If in area again I will definitely stay here!

Was a little nervous at first because it looks like a hotel from the 50 s.

The front desk was helpful and friendly.

Rooms are extremely clean and modern. It doesn t quite match the retro exterior. Beautiful little courtyard with a grass covered hit, chairs, and picnic tables.

After reading the reviews here I had pretty high hopes.

Some of the issues we ran into:

1. I woke up in the morning to find a very large cockroach in my suitcase. I crawled up my arm and according to my Dad, I screamed like a little girl. Nearly 30 years in Florida and I still cannot stand the bloody bastards.

2. The rooms weren t cleaned well. The bathroom floor was never cleaned, as evidenced by the spent contact on the floor next to the toilet. Also, I could feel the grit on my feet.

3. We got there around 3:20pm in the afternoon, and the front desk lady made a semi-big deal about the fact that they don t guarantee the rooms until 4pm. When she checked with housekeeping, the room was indeed finished. She really didn t have a great attitude during the check in process at all.

4. We were in room 10, and the WiFi signal was intermittent. I ended up having to tether to get a signal on my laptop.

5. We checked in on Thursday evening and fished on Friday. A big storm was coming through on Saturday, so we decided to abandon the next two days of fishing. On Friday evening I went down to the front desk to ask them to remove the extra day, but they were closed. I came back in the morning on Saturday, but they were still closed. On the way back to Tampa, I called and got the same woman. I explained what happened, and she said that she d ask the manager and call me back. She never did.

Very nice little place. Very clean, comfortable and accommodating. Looks as if everything has been renovated recently. Don t expect a full kitchenette though. Microwave, dorm style fridge, coffee maker and a small hot plate is what you will get. Area eateries are close so not such a big deal. There is a common area in the middle where there is a grill and tables if you need them.

All in all, perfect for the fishing getaways or just an overnight stay.

We will be back if in the area again.

The staff in the office were excellent, giving us details of shops and restaurants in the area, the password for the free wi-fi, and some other pointers upon arrival.

The building is your typical motel u shape, but the rooms are large and nicely furnished. The room for our group of four people had two large comfy beds, TV with cable, fridge, microwave, air-con, and a dining area. The bathrooms are large, with quality stone surfaces and tiles, plenty of soap/shampoo/body wash, and a feel that is far and beyond many hotels I have stayed in.

Housekeeping was exemplary, with crisp white sheets (surely a recipe for disaster in a motel??) clean floors and surfaces, and a spotless bathroom. The housekeeper left a small handwritten note outlining her gratitude for any tips left by guests- and we were happy to contribute.

Great! Especially for a motel. The room was very clean and moden looking.

The room came with a bed with real covers, modern bathroom, free wifi, TV with Bravo (my fav channel and rare to come by in hotels), microwave and small fridge.

Unfortunately, our room had a smokey smell. We weren t able to switch rooms because the place was fully booked. However, the next day, when I went to check out, I was given $10 as refund. I didn t even ask for it! That was extremely thoughtful.

Clean, modern, very friendly. The walls could indead be thicker, but I was lucky and my neighbours weren t that loud.
In the standard rooms you get a little kitchen (no stove, that comes with the better rooms), TV, wifi and great bathrooms. I haven t seen any like these in a motel before.
The people in the office were really friendly and super helpful, I have a dozen maps and lists of attractions now.

I did not actually stay there. I had a reservation but cancelled it about 13 days in advance. Then the night I would have been arriving, they called to ask if I was coming. I explained that I had cancelled and they said they had no record of that and that they would have to charge me unless I could produce a phone record of the conversation. I had never accessed those types of records, so it took me quite a while. When I emailed them the proof, rather than an apology, they said, That s OK, we cancelled the reservation for you , as though they were doing me a favor.

I highly recommend that you DO NOT stay at this motel. When we arrived, they were in the middle of paving the entire parking lot so we were told to park somewhere along the highway and basically hike to our room. The staff was inconsiderate and rude. The internet does NOT work. You get approximately 10 channels on the tv. Things are clearly falling apart and it smells like shit and cigarette smoke. THIS MOTEL IS CLEARLY RUN BY FOREIGNERS WITH LOWER STANDARDS OF LIVING. At first, we were put in a room with one bed, even though I had made arrangements for two, but for $89 a night I was gonna let that slide. When I went to take a shower, the knob popped off as soon as I touched it, and I then had to go to the front office, clearly drenched from my almost shower. I kindly asked for another room, which surprisingly, they gave me without much trouble. But when we entered the room, it had no comforters on the beds. Just sheets. So I went back up to the office, asked for comforters, and received blankets and towels instead. Having given up hope on any real help from the front office, I decided to ask the maid for help. Who at first, ignored me entirely until I chased her down. I then asked her for comforters and she very rudely shooed me toward the office. (Clearly most people at this hotel do not speak English). Eventually, I got some comforters from a woman in the front office, only to come back to my hotel that evening to find them gone. I promptly walked up to the office to ask for more where I was told It s summer, we only use sheets. That doesn t make sense, it s summer, why do you need blankets? They clearly do not treat customers as their guest. At that point, we gave up, we checked out, and checked into the Jones Beach Hotel. The Jones Beach Motel is a much safer bet. The staff is friendly, nicely decorated rooms with direct tv, a mini fridge, a microwave, and a coffee maker. It is also right along the lines of a nice little park, with a path that leads you all the way to the beach by bicycle.

Don t do it, how ridiculous to pay so much per night and even after asking them to exchange rooms because her sister in law had a baby and they REFUSED said too bad because it was their third night and why didn t they complain earlier! Unfortunately, the water took over 5 min to get hot. and it was backing up in the shower. We had to get someone to unclog the shower drain. He came and used a plunger that s used for the toilet. The next day was worse: there was standing dirty water in the shower, backed up and almost overflowing the bathroom. Disgusting.

Alright, first off, let me say that all I basically want at cheap priced hotels/motels is:

– air conditioning/ refrigerator
– a clean room (bug free), clean sheets, towels, etc.
– working toilet, sink and shower
– working door lock/ no theft from housekeeping
– parking lot
– safe-ish neighborhood

IMO, these should the basics every place should have to obtain repeat customers.

This place failed in the working shower requirement. We only stayed there 2 nights and both times I used the shower I had problems getting hot water. The first time, it took several minutes for the water to warm up and even then it fluctuated on me. The second time, it took FOREVER to get even warm water that I could wash my hair in without risking getting a cold afterwards. I even turned all the cold water off and turned the hot water knob full blast and it was just a tiny bit warm after more than 10 minutes of trying. This was just downright annoying.

The shower drain also took forever to drain the water out so that the next guy using the shower had to wait a while before going in.

They did fine in everything else tho. It had a microwave, fridge, tv with a movie channel and a weird porn channel with the upper left window of the screen showing it, a love seat sofa, AC worked pretty strong and they tidied up our room pretty neatly. Place was pretty darn clean with no bugs in site. Floor is tiled, not carpeted.

So you decide how important the shower is to you, it was REALLY important to me.

US District Judge Sue Myerscough for the Central Illinois District ordered the satellite television provider to pay $168 million to the US government and $112 million to four states for violating laws regarding the national Do Not Call registry. The number of calls amounted to “millions and millions,” Myerscough wrote in her 475-page ruling .

“The evidence supports the conclusion that the pressure needs to be maintained to keep Dish’s marketing personnel from reverting to their practice of trying to get around the rules,” Myerscough wrote.

The Federal Trade Commission sued Dish in 2009, alleging the company’s “robocalls,” or automated messages, violated the federal Telemarketing Sales Rule. The agency’s complaint was filed jointly with attorneys general from California, Illinois, Ohio, and North Carolina.

Dish didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment but told Reuters in a statement it “respectfully disagrees with today’s decision by the Court,” and said that it will appeal the ruling. Dish added that the penalties “radically and unjustly exceed, by orders of magnitude, those found in the settlements in similar actions.”

Myerscough said in her decision that the award was “not onerous,” amounting to about one-fifth of Dish’s 2016 after-tax profits.

The judge also ruled that Dish should create a long-term plan to ensure its compliance with the Do Not Call laws.

We were coming down from the Rocky Mountains National Park and got caught in the dark with a winding mountain road ahead of us, so we decided to stay in the town of Granby.

The service was great–typical small-town hospitality. We were recommended by the Chinese restaurant in town, just up the street, and as a result the innkeeper gave us a discount off the regular room rate. We had to take care of some work, so he also gave us the room closest to the wireless router in his office, so that we could have the best signal for the net.

The room was cute and clean, with a refrigerator and microwave–a plus, since motels typically don t come with appliances anymore. Great place to keep the Chinese restaurant leftovers 🙂 A bonus is that the room is just steps from a spectacular view of the night sky. Cassiopeia and Hercules were clearly visible 🙂

Caveat: the inn (and the whole town for that matter) is next to a railroad track, so if you can t sleep with trains passing every once in a while, keep driving. Not the inn s fault, though.

In short, it s more than what you would expect from a cheap motel in a random mountain village. Fun fact: Granby was the home of the Killdozer. Never heard of it? Look it up on YouTube.

The room smelled like dog pee and the carpet was so bad we didn t take off our flip flops. The bed was so hard we would of been better off sleeping in the car. Doesn t even deserve the one star. But, since negative astral images aren t an option. We made reservations. The local number went to a personal voice mail. Ok, it was obviously a misprint. Called the 800 number and other than the woman who answered sounding unorganized, we got the job done. Check in after 2, they said. We show up at 2:45pm. There is a note saying they will be back at 3 and that all confirmed reservations will be checked in. They, a carload of 4 people, showed up at 4:15pm. We were getting ready to call the police thinking something must have happened to them (accident, etc. ). The woman behind the counter appeared high or drunk. No apologies, no explanations. Needless to say, we cancelled our reservations. STAY AWAY FROM HOMESTEAD HELL!

I m writing about this place because if you have someone near and dear to you who needs hospice care, this is the best place to be.

Not long ago my grandpa came her for hospice care when he was given about 5 days to live. Although our time here was sorrowful, it was a great place to spend time with my grandpa and family during his last days.

The staff was incredible. They truly cared for my grandpa and even our family. They helped make him and us comfortable. The rooms were large with two couches and several evening we fit about 10 people in the room comfortably. They were even able to bring a cot into the room for my grandma so she could sleep there the last few days.

The facility is very nice, comfortable and clean. The Hospice House also provides free soup made in house daily. It s very yummy and the chef has even won awards in KC. It s very nice to know you could go there to spend time with family and not have to worry about where to get a meal.

I would recommend this facility to anyone who has family who needs this care.

I recently set up our new accountant with the BM vpn and NW clients so that
she might be able to access our quickbooks 2000 database via a mapped drive
while connected to our BM3.7 server. She can connect fine, and althought QB
(a known resource hog) is fairly slow for most common operations over the
vpn (both client and server have SDSL connections over 500kbps), it is not
entirely unworkable. SOME particular operations, however, take an
IMPOSSIBLY long time (especially find operations in the records DB),
literally many, many orders of magnitude slower than everything else.

Is this really just due to the number of drive accesses involved in these
operations, or is there some other buggy issue at work here?

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot/work around this problem effectively?
We are really trying to avoid having to shutdown/lock the QB system long
enough for our accountant to copy the DB to a local machine, do her work,
and then write it back out to our system. We really need a way for her to
be able to work remotely AND concurrently with the rest of us.

Many, many thanks in advance for any help.

You will probably need to take some traces (Ethereal on the PC’s
involved) to see what kind of traffic is involved. Might be as simple
as needing to reduce MTU size on one or both ends of that connection.

Perhaps simpler would be to use pcANYWHERE, VNC or terminal server/RDP
to remote control an internal PC over the VPN to do the work remotely.

My experience with Quickbooks over a lan is that the newer versions can be a
little slow as it is. I would venture to say that there is just way too
much data to push through that small DSL pipe.

I apologize for my own sluggish response. I actually found a post on
another site that echoed Craig’s suggestion of running quickbooks on a local
machine and having the remote client connect to it using pcAnywhere or the
like so that all the heavy drive accesses remain local. I’m going to give
that a try.

Absolutely LOVED our stay here. I ll be the first to admit that I wasn t expecting much since we were just going for one night but this will be our go-to place from now on. The gentleman at the front desk was very warm and inviting. He let us check in early and gave us a few tips on where to eat and go in the area. We requested a room facing the river and were NOT disappointed. Our room was perfect since one window was facing the river and the other was facing the woods. I ll be requesting that specific room from now on so I can t tell you which it is because it s too perfect, lol (okay, okay. It was room 7). It had a king sized bed, fridge, microwave, AC and was VERY clean. The river is directly behind the motel so make your way down when you visit and be sure to keep the window open at night so it can lull you to sleep 😉 Best of all- the price was reasonable, the location was beyond ideal (a stone s throw away from Franconia Notch State Park and Woodstock Brewery) and they accept pets!!

This was a complete steal! I believe we found an extremely cheap room due to it being off season but even at that it was cheaper than anything in the area. Location wise this is perfect for checking out the White Mountain sites and the room itself was much better than most or possibly any 1 star motel I have seen. The room was clean and spacious. For $50 I couldn t really ask for anything more!

This is a really great place for a winter day hiker to stay. The hotel is clean. There is a refrigerator and a microwave and an LCD flat panel TV. Of course it s smoke free. You will not have any trouble drying technical clothing or ski skins. There is a real bathtub. Haven t heard a snowmobile all weekend, and I got a nice room right on the river.

Location is very convenient to the kanc or the notch.

The desk is very friendly. It is not 24 /7 so if you are going to arrive late give them a call and they will make arrangements to get you into the room.

The wifi is a little unstable so don t plan on uploading videos or watching videos but web browsing works OK.

Cool little place right on the bank of a scenic stream, right next door to Franconia Notch park. We had one of the little separate cabins, which we found pretty great, considering it rained a lot and we could have spent more money on a campsite to sit in a cold, soggy tent.

There is electricity, cable, hot water, even super hot water if you wish, a grill outside, a gazebo, and parking. The people running the place are really friendly and straighten up the cabins every day.

We were kind of creeped out when we just got there because we had cabin number thirteen, which is like an ominous beginning of a scary movie, but we had a great stay. There s also free coffee at the front desk in the morning.

I would say it s ok place for the price of $119 for the room with king size bad. I stay here for one night and it s wasn t too bad. This place look terrible from outside especially if you can see great hotels with pools and playground for kids across the street.
Room has TV, nice and clean shower, phone ( was all in dust. Seems like they didn t clean it for long time) nice and comfy bad, some table and refrigerator ( was standing on floor. look really bad and don t feel like putting stuff in it. They could use a small table. Would be much better) But no internet? Com on it s 21 century. Whole hotel is very old so it s has specific smell as soon as you enter inside. And it s really hard to find where to plug in computer because as I mention house is old and not everything works. The good part that this place is very close to Flume George and bus stop is right outside of the hotel And I just LOVE the view from outside of my window. Like a small river so when you leave window open you can hear the sound of water. Just beautiful.
It s not the best place but it could be worth. So if you don t have choice and you need to stay for night but you don t want to spend a lot of money i would come to this place.

Great value! Grabbed a cabin while in the mountains with the kids. Sure its an older place but clean and quite charming. Beautiful stream right behind the property, nice to listen to while falling asleep. Conveniently located right down the road from the flume, cannon mountain, hobo railroad. Might not be the place to stay if you re gonna hang around the motel and need hot tub, pool, game room etc. But for folks spending the time out and about a great place to crash at end of day. Staff was super nice. Kids liked that there was WiFi. Will likely be back on future trips.

My experience at Seasons occurred in May 2013. After 18 months of bravely battling cancer there was nothing more that could be done. The most important matter for me was to give my partner of 29 years the best care I could find. In reaching out for recommendations, Seasons was described as a place that would exceed my expectations. When we arrived, the staff immediately attended him. It was evident that there wasn t much time left.

With tumors in the brain, his body began to jerk. Thanks to the quick reactions from the staff, which included a doctor, medications were administered to prevent seizure. It was comforting to see my partner treated with dignity and respect. It was so clearly evident that the staff was dedicated to keeping their patients comfortable and the family informed.

I stayed with him all day and night until he took his last breath. The kindness and attention provided to me, other family members and friends will not be forgotten. Bereavement has many faces. For anyone who has gone through it, it is not uncommon to experience a whole host of feelings. Seasons is aware of the many different ways that people grieve over the lost of a loved one and are trained to care for the needs of the family.

Watching my partner take his last breath wasn t easy, but when he did, all of us who were there in that final moment were given the privacy we needed. I know without any doubt that I could not have made a better decision when I agreed to accept hospice care for him. He parted comfortably and peacefully. He will be missed for as long as I live and for as long as I live I will have peace of mind.

It seems really strange to review a hospice place on Yelp, as typically I spend most of my time on here trying to figure out which place near me has the most rockin tacos. But, hopefully this admittedly odd review helps someone out there who is faced with the difficult decision of where to take a loved one for end of life care. When I had to make the decision, there were no resources beyond which one was located in the most convenient spot on Google Maps.

My father, who passed away late last year spent the final years of his life totally un-insurable. He was basically the poster boy for why we so badly needed the Affordable Care Act. When you re a family member of a pre-ACA Medicaid patient, you just get used to seeing them get whatever the next vaguely acceptable barebones level of care beyond nothing is. So, when we had the choice of hospice places covered by Medicaid, I was fully expecting our options to be just as terrible as the scary bad hospitals we d spent the previous years in and out of.

Seasons was fantastic, in every sense of the word. The transition to hospice is an uncomfortable one, largely because of the inevitability of the whole situation, but the staff at Seasons go above and beyond to make you feel at home there. They treat their patients with dignity, and the nursing staff would always make sure to fully explain to the family both what they re doing as well as how the various stages of death work and what to expect.

My dad was lucky enough to have a wholly unexpected turnaround when he was first admitted, and after a few days was upgraded to Season s home care system for a couple months. Again, we were used to how things in the Medicaid world works, so when they pitched the idea of moving him back home and outfitting my parents house with medical equipment, I was expecting it to take so long that it wasn t even worth doing.

Not so. They were so speedy and on top of things that the guy who was dispatched that day to meet me at their house to unload a hospital bed, oxygen machine, and assorted other stuff beat me to their house. From there, they assess your needs and figure out how often a Seasons nurse should come out to your house. You d think it d be weird to have someone you don t know stopping by all the time to do various medical maintenance tasks, but again, the nurses go out of their way to be so pleasant that their visits quickly gain a vibe of feeling more like you ve got a friend coming by to hang out and see if you need anything rather than some weirdo coming over to help your dad die more comfortably. The transition back to inpatient hospice was also similarly smooth, with Seasons organizing absolutely everything along the way.

I suppose that brings us to the morbid conclusion of this all: While you can t choose when or how you die, when you re given the option of hospice care, it s worth taking, especially with places like Seasons in Naperville in this world.

My dad s dr and the social worker from good Samaritan hospital suggested and recommended this hospice and location. The facility was nice and overall the staff was nice and caring. Not sure about every health care assistant though. I understand my dad was placed in this facility to pass in comfort. The day before he passed, I went to visit him and he was in obvious discomfort and duress. It was pretty obvious he was suffering like this for at least 2 hrs. Why was it my role to inform the nurse of my dad s obvious condition. The H.A. at the time didn t seem to understand what her job was and didn t understand what normal wasn t. Not until I informed the actual nurse did my dad finally received some meds to assist in his comfort. At that point and in that condition, I knew he was going to pass very soon. The point of this hospice care was to ensure my dad s comfort before his passing. I believe overall they did a better than average job, but those

2 hrs of obvious neglect and ignorance was something I needed to comment on. To me, I believed I spared the rest of my family s witness to my dad s suffering.

(1) During the initial assessment visit in advance of furnishing care the hospice must provide the patient or representative with verbal (meaning spoken) and written notice of the patient s rights and responsibilities in a language and manner that the patient understands.

(2) The hospice must comply with the requirements of subpart I of part 489 of this chapter regarding advance directives. The hospice must inform and distribute written information to the patient concerning its policies on advance directives, including a description of applicable State law.

(3) The hospice must obtain the patient s or representative s signature confirming that he or she has received a copy of the notice of rights and responsibilities.

(b) Standard: Exercise of rights and respect for property and person. (1) The patient has the right:

(i) To exercise his or her rights as a patient of the hospice;

(ii) To have his or her property and person treated with respect;

(iii) To voice grievances regarding treatment or care that is (or fails to be) furnished and the lack of respect for property by anyone who is furnishing services on behalf of the hospice; and

Meet the Business Owner: Robin H.

Robin Houghton was born in 1956. He grew up a pastor s son; so caring for others came naturally from the beginning. Robin has a natural love of music and can often be found spending his free time playing his guitar or fiddle for hospice patients, which are his true passion. In 1996 Robin married Angela Bower, between them they have raised 5 kids.
Robin has always been in the business of caring for others. In 1992 he graduated with his RN from Southwestern Adventist University and went to work in the I.C.U then E.R. at John Peter Smith Hospital. He then answered a calling to hospice. He became a hospice nurse in 1996 and later his wife Angie who was also a nurse joined him. This is what sparked Mission Hospice.
In 2005 Mission Hospice started as a husband and wife team but because of a driving passion and warm, compassionate caring from the top down. Mission hospice grew into what is now a close nit team of about 115 employees and 50 volunteers who all go above and beyond.

I am very disappointed in the services that my mother received from Odyssey Hospice of San diego during her last days. The staff at Odyssey knew that she probably only had a week to live yet no one came by to see her that week as they indicated that they would during the intake. We had one visit from the nurse but that was about it. I left a message for the nurse two days before she died so she could come check on her but she did not even show up until after she had passed away. We relied completely on the care of the nursing home and thankfully they did such a great job.

Angela Hospice is the most incredible place. My mother has had Alzheimer s for over 13 years, and now the time has come for her to be released from her dementia hell. Thankfully, she is in the most beautiful facility where she is receiving incredibly nurturing care. Every single staff member is the highest quality professional–so caring and compassionate. I swear it s like dying in a spa (which is just her style, and probably why she is still here.) So I take solace in the fact that my mother is experiencing a good death. They not only take care of the patients, they take remarkable care of the entire family.

Angela Hospice is a very caring and special place. The staff are professional, empathetic and exceptional. The staff aren t perfect – after all they re only human but, Angela Hospice is like a family – they re consistent, reliable and caring. Angela Hospice itself isn t perfect but, they have NO EQUALS in this business period! I m speaking here from YEARS of experience as a family member of a terminally ill patient. Angela Hospice honestly is as good as it gets! If you re looking for perfection then, I guess you ll have to wait until you get to heaven. But, if you re looking for a place that is the best Hospice in Michigan bring your loved one here – I m so glad that I did!

The care and concern was very good at admission. However, the next morning we received a phone call that mom was dead-just like that. Yes, we knew it was inevitable, it is afterall a hospice . It s just that we had called Angela to check on her earlier that morning and were told her nurse was in report, no indication that she was on her way out. So we got dressed to go see her. On the way out of the door (approx. 2 hrs. later), we got the phone call. No idea when she died..likely alone. We have had experience with hospice care in the past-both in Michigan and out of state, and they usually inform family when the time is nearing (i.e. respirations, restlessness, etc.), so that they can say goodbye (or whatever rituals they might want to participate in). The evening before, we were told that her assessment indicated it could be weeks (even months-although we knew that was a stretch), before she passed. We would have stayed the night as she was gone less than 12 hours after we left her bedside. We were never given any information, just hurry up and make funeral arrangemants as they needed the room. We had not done that as it was an unexpected medical condition. Thestaff definitely needs to retake the inservice on giving the news and attending to those during their last breaths of life-afterall-it is hospice .

This was a really great place to stay for 3 days! Amazing beach/water access for a low cost per night.

You can roam next store and get a drink to bring to over.

In the middle of the keys so great central point.

Rooms are what they are. You are at a motel for $111/night. Nothing fancy but decent.

My only 1 negative- there was carpet in Our room which is not great for a sandy beach motel. I woke up with some bites on my leg that didn t ever itch (meaning they weren t misquotes ) and when we left, my boyfriend and I had little red bites all over our feet. Hard to say if it was the hotel, beach or whatever. But just a warning.

Stay away from this dump.sunday morning the manager,or the person in charge was drunk. 9:00 am at work drunk. He was ao drunk he had children checking people in and out. It was funny, but also very sad, The owners should be notified.The room was full of cockroaches

you sometimes take them back home with you.

I will give 5 stars because our view from our ocean front room is amazing and the beach is nice and the pool. Its a very laid back place to stay and its not overly crowded. We are here for 7 nights and we re half way through our trip. Yes, the motel needs a major renovation and upgrades but its an older motel. Don t stay here if you re too picky with everything being brand new. This isnt something that bothers us. It is really clean and has NO bugs and that is what we look for. The private beach is nice so that we dont have to drive anywhere. You are close to everything and will be able to either walk or drive to a few different places to eat in key colony.

I really enjoyed our stay. Clean room, basic amenities, and hasn t been updated. I really enjoyed that our bathroom still had the original curved tiles from its past- love it when those things can be preserved. Small private beachfront with ample seating. Liquor store next door. Quiet street. Amazing rate- we paid $144 after all taxes. Would stay again!

LOVED this motel. A little slice of heaven. The rate was only $100 for a motel room just steps away from a private beach for motel guests. ANY room you get is such a very short walk to the beach and wonderful swimming pool. If you forget something in your room, no problem! You can pop back to your room in 15 seconds.

There are ample beachside lounge adirondack chairs and tiki huts for shade with tables chairs under them. The motel was clean, and the staff is friendly. It s not located on a busy street, so no traffic noise. The only noise on the beach is the sound of crashing waves.

Full disclosure, there are no frills. Bring your own beach towel shampoo, and there s just plain coffee available in the lobby. The beds could be more comfortable, but that just motivated me to get up in the morning and go enjoy the beach – where I could take a nap! These are not complaints. The great rate is totally worth giving up a few little perks you might get at other lodging options. The rate at the hotel NEXT DOOR with the same beach assets is THREE TIMES the rate of this motel. I would love to visit again.

I thoroughly enjoyed waking up from a nap on this beach to nothing but the sound of crashing waves.

Clean bathroom. No frills, just two bars of soap, but at $100 beach motel, I m not complaining. (No bathroom fan)

What was suppose to be a week extended to a month for relocation reasons.we needed a comfortable place to lay our head and here s where we found it.they were willing to accommodate our stay with our children with a decent rate to go with it.they offer maid service and the bed feels new and unused.they have clean sheets to lay in.Believe in me I have ocd when it comes to where I lay my head and I m alergic to bed bugs.i asked them if they had that problem upon arriving and unlike other motel/hotels that lie and tell you they don t have them.their word stood firm because I never once woke up with bites.i recommend this place because it s the best your going to get considering the area is ok.

I stayed in 106 – Terrible room. They say on the phone newly renovated rooms the only thing renovated in my room was the bathroom which didn t have hot water and was pretty modern but he rest of the room looked really old. The door looked raggedy and chipping I saw a baby bug in the bathroom and another but on be fridge they looked like bed bugs to me but I wasn t bit thank god. We left as soon as we woke up. There wasn t a TV. no microwave some neighbor knocked on our door and yelled if we don t shut up they will call the cops. Yet we heard them either talking or watching my tv till about 3 am needless to say the walls are paper thin. It s completely a rip off to charge 75 bucks. It should be 55-65 if anything. By far the worst hotel I have stayed in

Okay, so a friend I checked into this motel last minute it was problem after problem. The guy charged us $65 with ALL the problems we had we could hv gone to Motel 6 for a better experience. He gave us room #4 it was SOOOO Filthy! The toilet had dirt spots on it, a dirty wash cloth over the sink dirty shower floor. In other words they didn t clean it b4 they gave it to us after the previous person left. He gives us another room but now the heater doesn t work, T.V. won t turn on says to us ( Oh! Warner Cable is coming tomorrow ). I said. well that s not okay when ur making us pay full price. He didn t even want to come help us or even apologize. It was the worst experience. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN. I reported them already. Theyre towels were like old rags, bedbugs on the bed, sticky floors, URINE ON TOILET SEAT FROM PREVIOUS CUSTOMER, very poor and old sheets, and the bathroom even had the previous customers hygiene shit everywhere! OBVIOUSLY DIDNT CLEAN THE ROOMS! And they knock on ur door a few minutes before checkput time to tell u if u go even 1 minute over, u have to pay 10$. BS. And be careful bcoz they will also take ur deposit if u dont pay. Dont ever go here. THEY WILL BE CLOSED DOWN SOON DONT WORRY. U GUYS ARE SO DISGUSTING. I cant believe i stayed there and realized how shitty your management is.

This is by far the most disgusting motel I ve ever stayed at. We literally just needed somewhere to sleep, as we were just passing through the city. They are trying to update the rooms, with fresh paint newer things but, on this particular night it was not worth the $80 spent. There was no mirror, trash can or toilet paper. The TV was old, fuzzy crappy. There was residue left in the toilets, as if it hadn t been cleaned for a few days. The sheets were awful. They need some upgrading for sure. Once we were ready for bed, I pulled back the sheets to discover a huge yellow stain. Thinking it was just a stain, I pulled back to see the stain went all the way down to the second set of sheets meaning these sheets were not changed. I was horrified should have left but it was late and we just wanted to sleep. The hotel clerk brought us fresh sheets finally we slept. No breakfast, no microwave, no fridge. My 3 year old woke up with some sort of bug bites on his left side also. Def wouldn t recommend or stay here again.

Golden State Water has proudly served Los Alamitos and surrounding communities since 1929. We currently serve approximately 27,200 customers in Cypress, Los Alamitos, Stanton and portions of Buena Park, Garden Grove, La Palma, Rossmoor and Seal Beach.

Water delivered to customers in the West Orange County System is a blend of groundwater pumped from the Orange County Groundwater Basin and imported water from the Colorado River Aqueduct and State Water Project (imported and distributed by Metropolitan Water District of Southern California).

As a regulated utility, Golden State Water s rates are determined by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) through a General Rate Case (GRC) to ensure customers receive a fair rate for reliable, quality water service.

  • Effective April 20, 2017, an average residential customer in the Los Alamitos Customer Service Area with a 5/8 x 3/4” meter, using 8,976 gallons (1,200 cubic feet or 12 Ccf) of water per month, would see a monthly bill increase of $5.05 from $54.72 to $59.77 compared to 2016 (excluding any applicable surcharges).
  • Golden State Water’s rates for 2016, 2017 and 2018 were approved by the CPUC in March 2017. The GRC approval was originally expected prior to Jan. 1, 2016, and the delayed approval prevented Golden State Water from implementing the new rates for 2016 on schedule (2015 rates remained in place during the delay period).

Not sure why this is called a resort, but maybe there are more amenities during the summer season. Otherwise, it s a motel with a pool, hot tub, a fitness room with limited hours, and a front desk with limited hours. I opted for a deluxe king room, which had a large Jacuzzi tub and a fireplace. The motel was further from the beach than I would have liked, but in the summer there s a trolley stop right outside.

Couple of minor complaints: we had to leave unexpectedly early the following morning, and there wasn t an obvious way to return our room keys without going through the front desk (no options for self check-out in the room, or a key drop). I knocked on the front door at 7:45 and rang the doorbell. I could see someone preparing the breakfast room for the 8:00 opening, but maybe the bell didn t work, and I had to bang on the door a few times. How about having a key drop for guests who need to leave before 8:00 am? And I would have liked to work out before showering in the morning, but the gym didn t open until 9:00. Good for a basic place to hang your hat for the night, but keep your expectations moderate.

We stayed overnight NYE at the Ogunquit Resort Motel. The price was right, and we had an overall enjoyable stay.

The room was super clean and relatively modern and well kept.
Check in and out was smooth as pie and the place offered free Wi-Fi which actually worked.

They also offered continental breakfast which we did not investigate.

I would return here the next time I plan to stay in town.

We ve just returned from a two night stay at the Ogunquit Resort Motel. Like others who have posted reviews, I am not sure why it s called a resort. What it is is a pleasant, clean hotel with some nice amenities. The pool is very large, but the picture on the website is misleading due to the angle taken. We reserved a room (upgrade) with a private balcony and were disappointed when we arrived to see that our balcony was directly facing Route 1, a stone s throw to the busy road. We were unable to use it at all the second night of our stay due to hornets swarming in the roof directly above it. I reported this to the office, not expecting they would be able to do anything about it that evening. No adjustment was made to our bill. The room was nice, very clean and the bed was comfortable. Nice sheets and bedding. The refrigerator was in the bathroom and there was no microwave. There was a hot tub and continental breakfast, but we didn t take advantage of either so can t rate.

Over all. nice hotel, very clean, reasonably priced, comfortable bed with nice linens, very nice pool, pleasant staff, good location close to downtown, attractions and restaurants. I think next time we will reserve a room closer to the water.

Ok – I have not been to Ogunquit in years and was looking forward to coming back. This hotel is in Ogunquit but not on beach and it s too far to walk to beach or town. Pool is nice and big and clean with lots of kids – so good for families I guess. The room smells very musty, like there must have been a flood or something. Also they don t have any restaurants at the hotel so you need to leave the property to for dinner, etc. This would not be my first choice when visiting Ogunquit.

The rooms are very affordable for the amazing location of the motel. It is a mile walk to the beach and five minute drive into the town. There is also a grocery store, CVS, and gas station near by.

Not sure why this is called a resort, it just seemed like a very nice motel. Our room was very clean and the staff was friendly, but the walls were pretty thin. The fridge is in the bathroom and you don t get a microwave in your room.

The continental breakfast wasn t great and we did not get wifi in our room. Every room does have a book with a list of recommended things to do and places to eat which was helpful.

Its a dump and its cheap. These places are still in business for a reason.

Only go here if it is a last resort. I never had an issue with the old man with the glasses. People ask to many silly questions so I am not surprised he was annoyed.

Pros:
You always worry about, bed bugs, but at least they clean their sheets frequently. I see the staff constantly washing sheets so that is the one redeeming factor.
Alot of parking.
They are not quick to kick you out if you go over 3 hours.

Cons:
Run Down
Broken furniture
Lingering Cigarette Smoke. (Depends on the room)

We were coming down from the Rocky Mountains National Park and got caught in the dark with a winding mountain road ahead of us, so we decided to stay in the town of Granby.

The service was great–typical small-town hospitality. We were recommended by the Chinese restaurant in town, just up the street, and as a result the innkeeper gave us a discount off the regular room rate. We had to take care of some work, so he also gave us the room closest to the wireless router in his office, so that we could have the best signal for the net.

The room was cute and clean, with a refrigerator and microwave–a plus, since motels typically don t come with appliances anymore. Great place to keep the Chinese restaurant leftovers 🙂 A bonus is that the room is just steps from a spectacular view of the night sky. Cassiopeia and Hercules were clearly visible 🙂

Caveat: the inn (and the whole town for that matter) is next to a railroad track, so if you can t sleep with trains passing every once in a while, keep driving. Not the inn s fault, though.

In short, it s more than what you would expect from a cheap motel in a random mountain village. Fun fact: Granby was the home of the Killdozer. Never heard of it? Look it up on YouTube.

The room smelled like dog pee and the carpet was so bad we didn t take off our flip flops. The bed was so hard we would of been better off sleeping in the car. Just not good so bad that I had paid for two nights and only stayed one. then could get a hold of anyone to Check out and ask for a refund. never again and will warn my friends.

Doesn t even deserve the one star. But, since negative astral images aren t an option. We made reservations. The local number went to a personal voice mail. Ok, it was obviously a misprint. Called the 800 number and other than the woman who answered sounding unorganized, we got the job done. Check in after 2, they said. We show up at 2:45pm. There is a note saying they will be back at 3 and that all confirmed reservations will be checked in. They, a carload of 4 people, showed up at 4:15pm. We were getting ready to call the police thinking something must have happened to them (accident, etc. ). The woman behind the counter appeared high or drunk. No apologies, no explanations. Needless to say, we cancelled our reservations. STAY AWAY FROM HOMESTEAD HELL!

If I could give 10 stars I would. The 1 star review is from someone who never stayed at this hospice location and honestly should be removed or placed on another Sharp location – maybe the ER.

I was more than a bit hesitant for my dad to come here when I saw there was only one 1 star review
but after I read it I realized it was a rant against the system and contained nothing about an experience here.

My father was taken to Sharp Hospice Parkview when we could no longer keep him comfortable at home. From the initial call to the nurse to the time he was admitted we felt the care and compassion from every person we encountered.

It took 3 hours for him to be transferred from home to Parkview. Upon admission the nurse took his picture, printed it and hung it on his door. They also gave him a beautiful small stuffed bunny that he held on to for the duration of his time there. His room was very nicely decorated with wall art, pictures, and a super comfortable love seat and recliner. I stayed with him for the three days he was there. The staff checked in hourly. They made sure he was not in pain. They explained everything in plain English. There was always enough staff there – there are four private rooms. They have lots of snacks and tea and coffee always available. With a refrigerator if you want to bring your own. The home was spacious and clearly used an interior decorator 🙂 Lots
Of books and magazines. The backyard was lush with plants and trees with two nice seating areas with umbrellas. The only improvement I would suggest is to designate one of the two employee bathrooms in the back by the rooms for family/ friends. It was a little trek at 2 am to the big bathroom out in the main living room

When the time came for my dad to go, the nurses and aids were so kind! I want to give them HUGE KUDOS for the priceless work they are doing to help patients and families at end-of-life care, at a time when we really need this kind of care and compassion. We THANK YOU. (Oh, we took the stuffed bunny home and hung his admission picture around it :))

Parkview Hospice Home and the staff are like stepping into heaven. Every staff member was warm, caring, and understanding. The nurses are the best I ve encountered. The house is beautiful, inviting, sparkling clean, and comfortable for all. My mother was given the best of care, we couldn t have asked for more. I can t imagine a better place for our last memories.
Highly recommended!
