Applying for multiple Amex cards within a short period?

I’m a young small business owner (early 20s). I’ve been with American Express since 2008. I originally got added to my father’s amex account. He has a Costco Platinum card. A little over a year ago, I picked up the zync card on my own account.

Last year I spent

34k on my card and have had no late/missed payments and have a decent credit history. Since my history is young, I only have a 767 faco score. (I utilize credit secure through American Express.)

My gross income is

100k and I have about 25k of liquid assets (checking + retirement accounts)

I really want to get accepted for the Platinum card, as I’m going to be a frequent flyer and would appreciate the benefits of the card.

I called American Express to apply over the phone, but I was a bit weary of applying for the Platinum card because of my limited credit history.

I chose to apply for the Gold Premier rewards out of safety (foolish mistake). I managed to get my application approved and the card is being shipped out.

Would my circumstances yield a platinum card approval?

If I don’t activate the gold card, will I be able to apply for a platinum? Would American Express do a second hard credit pull with the second application?

Should I keep the Gold Card for 13 months and attempt an upgrade?

I do not mind the annual fee difference, as the marginal benefits outweigh the marginal costs.

Thanks for all your help.

You could always call them and ask. Since you are already a member, AmEx can pull credit reports on you all they want and it doesn’t count as a hard inquiry. Usually you have to have the Gold Card for awhile to establish a history with them. The worst they could do is say no, you have to wait. When you upgrade they apply what you have already paid in fees toward the new card.

That sounds like a great idea I would say yes. you never know you might just end up liking the gold rewards better than the platinum.

I would if I were you.

I applied for 3 cards in two days and all was approved. I also already had a clear card totaling four applications in about six months.

This move is highly UN-RECOMMENDED. My application for platinum was for 50 000 Membership Rewards points for new Platinum card signup, transferred 50 k to Delta and I got 30% 15K Point certificate back that was credited back to my account. For 75000 Miles it was worth the hard pull but again I already have all the credit I need and don’t plan on applying for anything for at least two years.

My take is you stay gold, but you know what is best for you.

I agree with ooxs, I would wait. I received 50,000 points when I signed up. Of course, they didn’t show up like they were supposed to, so I called. I was amazed at how much nicer they are when you call Platinum CS versus Gold. I forwarded the email and immediately I received an apology. 50k miles in rewards is a very nice incentive. When AE decides you fit the profile, your account will flag the marketing department to send you an invitation in the postal mail. At that point, if you wait until the next invitation, you are more likely to get bonus points for accepting it. My first invitation had no points attached to it.

Lubbock Hotels And Motels

Reasonably priced and clean, near to Texas Tech. Rooms are small, and the bathroom inconveniently small (the tub and toilet are in a closet next to the sink area). In our room, the bathtub drained slowly. Room has basic cable and adequate wifi. There’s only one set of elevators at one end of the building and both cars make slightly alarming noises and slightly lurch when they start. The breakfast is uninspired: bagels, toast, cereal, plastic-packaged muffins, and hot waffles (in the shape of Texas!). Front desk staff was very friendly and engaged, although I had no real problems to test them with. The two maids I talked to were also very friendly and helpful.

Nice place to stay

On a trip to San Antonio I stopped here for the night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay there and found the room to be very clean and very well maintained. I highlty recommend this place. I found other motels on my trip that were more expensive and not as clean or as well maintained. I laso found other motels that were comparable in price that were not as clean or as well maintained too. For the price and location, this is the place to stay.

I reallenjoyed my stay at this holtel. It was very clean, quiet and comfortable for the price. I have spent allot more for similar rooms. I will stay there again next time i am in the area for sure!!

Long Beach Hotels And Motels

I stayed there awhile ago.I wanted to post a review because I have to give the management praise for awesome service. Its been about a yr so unsure if its same management. Its the couple who runs the place that made the stay there mhch more pleasant. They went out of their way to accommodate us.Always extremely friendly, professional, if ever an issue arised they were prompt to take care of itRomm we had had newer wood flooring, extremely clean. There were a few roaches, older tv that didnt really wrk,no mini fridges for wkly guests bed was higher on one side.Even with the things that weren’t acceptable I was still happy only due to awesome couple who manages the motel. If it werent for them i would prabably give a one star. But havong ppl such as them made a world of a difference. I would recommend it if your on a budget in a jam and need the bare necessities to be satisfied. Great customer service goes a long way. Perfect example of that with managers like they have there.

Long Beach Inn is truly the best. We were there for a wedding and stayed for a week. This motel is convenient to everything with its central location if you plan to visit Los Angeles and its many tourist and business attractions (The location was very convenient to everything we wanted to do). Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet, and the rate was much lower than most places we looked at in the city. The energy of the multicultural neighborhood was invigorating. The motel staff could not have been more gracious and helpful. We had a great time and We’d recommend this motel to friends, without a doubt. Excellent location on Pacific coast hwy and very close to Long Beach downtown and convention center.

WELL COME TO SILVER SAND PROPE.

I had a stolen (or misplaced) fanny pack that all of a sudden disappeared. This back pact had the reservation to El Patio in it. It also had Medications for me that are critical to my health. The pack could not be found and consequently I had to cancel the reservation, this was a difficult task for my wife and I because we were looking forward to our trip on the Fast Cat boat to Key West. Just for 3 days. The El Patio canceled my reservation and kept all the money +$315.00. Booking dot com took the original reservation. No sympathy what so ever. The cost of the trip was not insured (my fault). Needless to say I will never use either of these two companies again. What a bummer: no trip+plus not one penny back. Mean time good luck in renting the same room to some on else, which I am sure they can do with out any difficulty.

Beautiful 50 s art deco feel to it. quiet and enjoyable.

brianhR2329JW (41 reviews)

Stayed here 2 years ago and again in July 2016. very quiet and peaceful. hard to describe the feel of it: a mix of art deco, nuclear age, mid century modern. regardless, you just feel at peace. within walking distance of Duval street but without all the craziness. Their wifi was poor, but I didn’t go on vaca to use wifi 🙂
Rooms are clean. Tile floors, small bathrooms. no real amenities, and yet, you feel like it was exactly what the soul needed.

This hotel was pricey (though not by San Fran standards) but was in a good location to walk to variety of eateries, small shops and bus stops. Our corner room was spacious and clean. Big TV, small frig and coffee maker available. Free WiFi worked well. Breakfast was basic Costco pastries and dry cereal–free. Appreciated the free parking!

Everglades City Motel

Like a throw back to a forgotten time! Cute little old Florida hotel. Check in was easy and got a map with detailed open/close times for the area. Park in front of your door so unloading luggage was easy! Bathroom was recently remodeled and looked like a 5 star hotel. If in area again I will definitely stay here!

Bikes to use free!

Stop following Nancy H.

Clean, well-maintained and somewhat updated rooms. Beds are comfy. Ice machine continuously beeping for some reason, otherwise pretty quiet.

Was this review ?

Was a little nervous at first because it looks like a hotel from the 50 s.

The front desk was helpful and friendly.

Rooms are extremely clean and modern. It doesn t quite match the retro exterior. Beautiful little courtyard with a grass covered hit, chairs, and picnic tables.

Extremely nice for the price!

After reading the reviews here I had pretty high hopes.

Some of the issues we ran into:

1. I woke up in the morning to find a very large cockroach in my suitcase. I crawled up my arm and according to my Dad, I screamed like a little girl. Nearly 30 years in Florida and I still cannot stand the bloody bastards.

2. The rooms weren t cleaned well. The bathroom floor was never cleaned, as evidenced by the spent contact on the floor next to the toilet. Also, I could feel the grit on my feet.

3. We got there around 3:20pm in the afternoon, and the front desk lady made a semi-big deal about the fact that they don t guarantee the rooms until 4pm. When she checked with housekeeping, the room was indeed finished. She really didn t have a great attitude during the check in process at all.

4. We were in room 10, and the WiFi signal was intermittent. I ended up having to tether to get a signal on my laptop.

5. We checked in on Thursday evening and fished on Friday. A big storm was coming through on Saturday, so we decided to abandon the next two days of fishing. On Friday evening I went down to the front desk to ask them to remove the extra day, but they were closed. I came back in the morning on Saturday, but they were still closed. On the way back to Tampa, I called and got the same woman. I explained what happened, and she said that she d ask the manager and call me back. She never did.

Very nice little place. Very clean, comfortable and accommodating. Looks as if everything has been renovated recently. Don t expect a full kitchenette though. Microwave, dorm style fridge, coffee maker and a small hot plate is what you will get. Area eateries are close so not such a big deal. There is a common area in the middle where there is a grill and tables if you need them.

All in all, perfect for the fishing getaways or just an overnight stay.

We will be back if in the area again.

Was this review ?

A motel that meets and over my expectations.

We checked in this motel in July of 2014.

Pros:
1/
Good in room condition regardless of its motel name.

2/
Fridge and microwave in room.

3/
Quite big room.

Cons:
1/
Poor WiFi and even Poor cellular signal for your phone, so you are feeling isolated.

2/
Mosquitoes will eat you out if you don t clean them out before sleep.
– No blame to this motel though, this is FL after all.

3/
Humidity in restroom and smell a bit even you just checked in.
– Still, welcome to FL, plus hey, you can see lots of bugs you never see elsewhere in your daily life! Yay!

The staff in the office were excellent, giving us details of shops and restaurants in the area, the password for the free wi-fi, and some other pointers upon arrival.

The building is your typical motel u shape, but the rooms are large and nicely furnished. The room for our group of four people had two large comfy beds, TV with cable, fridge, microwave, air-con, and a dining area. The bathrooms are large, with quality stone surfaces and tiles, plenty of soap/shampoo/body wash, and a feel that is far and beyond many hotels I have stayed in.

Housekeeping was exemplary, with crisp white sheets (surely a recipe for disaster in a motel??) clean floors and surfaces, and a spotless bathroom. The housekeeper left a small handwritten note outlining her gratitude for any tips left by guests- and we were happy to contribute.

Was this review ?

Great! Especially for a motel. The room was very clean and moden looking.

The room came with a bed with real covers, modern bathroom, free wifi, TV with Bravo (my fav channel and rare to come by in hotels), microwave and small fridge.

Unfortunately, our room had a smokey smell. We weren t able to switch rooms because the place was fully booked. However, the next day, when I went to check out, I was given $10 as refund. I didn t even ask for it! That was extremely thoughtful.

Was this review ?

Clean, modern, very friendly. The walls could indead be thicker, but I was lucky and my neighbours weren t that loud.
In the standard rooms you get a little kitchen (no stove, that comes with the better rooms), TV, wifi and great bathrooms. I haven t seen any like these in a motel before.
The people in the office were really friendly and super helpful, I have a dozen maps and lists of attractions now.

Was this review ?

I did not actually stay there. I had a reservation but cancelled it about 13 days in advance. Then the night I would have been arriving, they called to ask if I was coming. I explained that I had cancelled and they said they had no record of that and that they would have to charge me unless I could produce a phone record of the conversation. I had never accessed those types of records, so it took me quite a while. When I emailed them the proof, rather than an apology, they said, That s OK, we cancelled the reservation for you , as though they were doing me a favor.

We stopped for a picnic lunch in Cape Charles, hoping to catch a glimpse of the lighthouse which bears its’ name. We did not find it – instead seeing a town water tank painted to resemble an iron lighthouse. Someone here has quite a sense of humour.

We have ended the day in Fruitland – a place where most people, like us, are “just passing through”.

This morning, woke up at 7:00am and Legend was ready to go outside. Beautiful brisk morning. I have on pants and jacket. The sun feels good! Legend is getting used to going to the bathroom with cars buzzing by on the highway. Jess and I spent some time today at the outlet mall next to the hotel browsing. We tried a very popular seafood restaurant this evening too. It was crowded at 5:30 with a 20 minute wait. when we left, the wait was over an hour. It’s.

Ryan and I awoke early and headed outside with Legend. The air is brisk. I had my jacket on and Ryan wished he wore his. Invigorating and awesome. We had breakfast and coffee and are preparing for the day. I will work from the lobby for a few hours and Ryan may have to go to his testing for work soon. Matt and Jess are still.

Next stop was “linner” as Barb calls it, at her favorite crabcake restaurant, Captain’s Galley II, on the waterfront in the Ocean City harbor. We three enjoyed the crab filled cakes and adult Orange Crush drinks.

Thanks Barb for a wonderful visit! Time to move up the road Annapolis, MD is our next stop and a hopeful boating.

Other folk were laying around on the grass, children playing in the park, people catching up over brunch. It was relaxing and a cool spot to stay a while. We then headed back for the subway to head back to mid-town to visit The Empire State Building. We had picked a great time as there was.

As pictures from the sidewalk seemed to be out of the question, I was determined not to have a wasted trip and slipped inside the imposing wooden door. Trying not to make any noise, I shuffled to the pews off.

Whoever recommended this hotel, I would like them to give me my money back. I actually read some of the positive reviews before booking, and now wonder if these people were sane! This was the worst hotel ever. The front desk person was incredibly rude, to begin with. The room was horrible, with mold near the door on the wall, the sliding glass door had a screen that came off when we tried to open it, the furniture was chipped and outdated. The bed and pillows were so horribly uncomfortable we couldn’t even sleep. It is obvious this hotel is all about the cheapness. It has been over 20 years since I stayed in a place that used plastic cups instead of glasses and styrophome cups instead of mugs. Absolutely the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and I use the word hotel loosely. Will never go back and will advise others not to go.

WORST MOTEL ROOM WE VE EVER HAD

    mkhower (1 review)

We wanted to go to the beach to escape the hot weather in the ctiy. We were thrilled to find a room availble here. But the room was filthy, and had there been another room available, we would have left. The carpet was so dirty it felt sticky. The oven and the wall above the stove had grease dripping down. The sliding door and the kitchen wall had obviously had dirty children’s hands on them, with food particles stuck and dried on them. On the deck was a cup of water filled with cigarette butts. The heater in the bathroom didn’t work and had cobwebs all over it. And the shower floor was slimmy like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. And the entire room had an unpleasant odor to. The advertisement stated new rooms and all existing rooms remodeled . but this room was right out of the 60’s.
And this room was over $100 a night! We were so disappointed with this motel that we will never go back there, nor will we ever recommend it to anyone.

OK But There Are Better Choices

    hasletthoney (68 reviews)

Not too bad but it’s out of town on its own not right on the beach but as the name says on the edge (top) of a cliff. You’re looking down on electric wires and other houses but you can see the ocean. The furniture looked like it came from a chain hotel that was remodeling (dark stuff from the 70’s). The room was clean enough not to be scary but not as clean as I’d really like it to be. (The night before we were at the Quinault Resort Casino). The continential breakfast wasn’t that great and we ate in town. The owner recommended a restaurant for our dinner-Killys-that was very good. If you’re going to stay in this town I’d look into another place. Lincoln City is not as nice as some of the other resort areas along the coast and I would not choose to stay in theis motel or this town again.

    Lancaster Motels

    clean, but wonder about safety

We stayed there 3 days last week. The motel was very clean. There was no elevator, but we did not ask about that and it did not bother us. Each morning, the doughnuts ran out, and if you did not ask for more, you don’t get any. You have to take your coffe, doughnuts, etc. outside or to your room to eat – no room in the coffee area which is very small and if there are more than two people in the area you have to wait for them before you can get to the coffee pot, microwave, toaster, etc. I guess our real concern was the fact that other than the front door it would be hard to escape in case of emergency. From the back of the motel, you have to go down some steps like you are going into the celler, and then there is a door at the rear, side. We don’t see how OSHA permits that.

When my Husband and I went to Lancaster for a few days get-away, we ended up at a really bad resort, after getting our money back we called Best Western Eden Resort, and a suite was ready and waiting for us to arrive. This resort is absolutely beautiful. Our 2 room suite was beautifully decorated, and there was even complimentray microwave popcorn and bottled water. The other resort wanted to charge us $2.00 for water. The 2 very large pools were clean and spacious. The landscaping was wonderful, and everyone was very friendly. I would recommend this resort to anyone going to Lancaster, Pa, it’s well worth it.

My family has been going to La.

My family has been going to Lancaster for many years and have always stayed at another resort. Last year my other resort was booked. I found this place and let me tell you it could not have been any nicer. This is now my new resort It is very family friendly ( I have 4 kids) clean and affordable. We get the 2 bedroom suite and it is perfect. Tons of activities for tots, teens and adults. They also have a great food selection on property. I would highly recomend this for family’s. couples, seniors or singles!

Key Colony Beach Motel (FL) – 2016 Hotel Reviews #premier #hotels

Shocked with all the high hotel rates over the spring break, we decided that our Friday Saturday should be away from the most popular escapes. Directed by a friend to an off beaten path on Marathon Keys, we choose this discounted motel. My friend says that she went here as a child and they have a lovely little beach and a pool. We got a beach front room for $160. Downstairs. Funky room yet had a side parlor with futon couch and table. Nice beach water view. The pool had canvas wrapped around her, so even though the pool is built high upon the beach, you can’t sit and enjoy the lovely beach scene. They say they can get some high winds, so the canvas fence wrap creates the only comfortable spot in the sun. But the pool with its magnificent ocean views are lost in nice weather (plus it obscured the view from my room). But then their beach is simply a delight. Lovely chairs and chaise lounges. All and all, our 2 day stay was wonderful.

j k, Guest Relations Manager at Key Colony Beach Motel, responded to this review

Thank you for staying with us and we enjoyed having you here. We take the canvas wind blocker down once there isn’t any threat of chilly weather. That wind can be kind of a bummer if it’s colder. Hopefully next time it’ll be down. Thank you for the review. Tony

Historic Hotel in San Francisco, California Founded by the son of a Calfornia Gold Rush miner.

Historic Hotel in San Francisco, California Founded by the son of a Calfornia Gold Rush miner, the Marina Motel was built to celebrate the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge in the late 1930’s. Designed as one of San Francisco’s first “motor-hotels” for the dawning of the automobile age, each room in this quaint Mediterranean-style motel has a private garage beneath the rooms, (courtyard garages are subject to size restrictions so guest are directed by the front desk to choose a garage that best fits their vehicle). Our 36 guestrooms and three suites are uniquely decorated with warm, stylish touches to make you feel at home. Our quaint courtyard, surrounded by colorful cascading flowers and a cobblestone driveway, offers a relaxing place to chat with friends. Flower boxes overflowing with fragrant blossoms adorn the windows adding European cottage charm. San Francisco’s top attractions are located within walking distance or a short bus ride from the Marina Motel The Marina Motel is still family-owned and operated today by the original owner’s granddaughter. For the past 70 years the Marina Motel has provided a beautiful and friendly place to stay while visiting San Francisco.

I always search for older motels/hotels that still have architectural charm and haven’t been renovated too much whenever possible. The Marina Motel is a quaint old fashioned motor hotel built in the 30s. The rooms have most of their original charm such as the tiled bathroom and old doors and windows that open. You drive into a courtyard and there are flowers everywhere, even little window boxes. Some units have kitchens. The office staff are friendly and helpful.
The bed was very comfortable and the bedding very soft. The room was clean. We had a microwave and decent sized fridge and coffee maker. I knew from experience that SF is very noisy at night and we like to sleep with the windows open and I meant to bring earplugs. I ended up forgetting them but didn’t need them, it was actually quiet and I slept very well. If you get one of the front rooms that face Lombard I’m sure it is a different story.
If you are one of those who love chain hotels and modern rooms then this is not for you. I like to wake up in a room and be able to tell where I am, which is not possible in chain hotels.

Considering its a roadside hotel, for a one night, it was very good! I am demanding with two major things when it comes to a one night hotel: needs to be CLEAN (it was. and it smelled good as well!) and SAFE (i was on the second floor and cannot relate to any of the bad experiences others had, thankfully) and my experience with this hotel provided me with those. The rest of the things, for such a short cheap stay, I am not so demanding about. We arrived late at night and were very well received by the frontdesk, Maisha (?) and we chatted a bit about the region and its history. Having read some bad reviews, I was a bit uncertain about what I would find, but I found a very clean and comfy room, with a clean bathroom and tv/wi-fi that were also available for free. In the morning, breakfast is served and the gentleman in charge was very polite and served us directly, very nice of him as it was not necessary. We were very very pleased with our stay and have nothing bad to say about the place, quite the opposite. I would stay there again, if necessary. Hope other people get more good experiences like mine as well.

    The Front Desk Empolyees: Eliz.

The Front Desk Empolyees: Elizabeth who works the graveyard shift, Alexis, Vicky who work the morning shift are very nice. Elizabeth who works the graveyard shift, when she does her rounds around the property, she locks the sliding doors so no can enter. That’s what I call being in a safe hotel. If you are a guest went out the doors are locked. You just use your room key to enter back into the hotel. Vicky Alexis really do listen the your needs requests. The place was perfectly located to where we had to be go. They say Hello to you and ask if everything is ok with your room. How has your day been going. Very friendly place to stay. If I ever go back to Phoenix, I will stay there again. A must place to stay.

This Travelodge had a Great Price, Free Fast Internet, Small Breakfast, Free Parking, Heated Pool. It is very clean, new rugs, nice personnel, very hot showers and a quiet area. We were on ground floor but for a quieter experience I would get a 2nd floor, but away from stairways! I would recommend it if you are needing the above and want to stay on a budget and only come back to sleep anyway. The breakfast is not exciting but they do have apples, oranges, and more. They have pancakes too, (I did not try these) In the areas down the street– there are lots of fast food and many other restaurants. Easy access to the freeways.

We have been travelling around Sth Aus with friends. After various types of accommodation this was given top points. We had an extended stay. Office and Maintenance Staff very helpful and gracious. Housekeeping Staff lacked English speaking skills so it was difficult to communicate need of towels and toilet paper. Dryer broke during stay, difficult to share one dryer with numerous people trying to do laundry. Pet friendly, excellent amount of green space to take dog for walk around hotel perimeter. Plenty of parking. Surprised with the amount of hotel guests who smoked. At times, motel room smelled of cigarette smoke. It is a nonsmoking motel. Wifi caused laptop to work slow, kept losing connection. Would stay again, highly recommend the motel. If any concerns during a stay, don’t hesitate to speak to the office, they wanted to make our stay comfortable.

I had never visited Austin and knew nothing about it. On our way out of the airport, I said lets check out the hotel first so that if it is a dump, we can search for some other accomodation Were we ever so pleasantly surprised. A little hard to and in a commercial zone, but the hotel itself was great. The staff extremely helpful and Victor was just great. I would definitely stay there again. Nice little breakfast. You make your own waffles in a proffessional waffle iron from prepared batter. Fruit, cereal, other stuff. and great tasting coffee. What else is ther to say? Best Feature: Cleanliness and overall great condition

Nice, clean, very quiet place, with very friendly staff and a pretty good breakfast. The assistant manager Gloria is truly an asset to the hotel, very friendly, professional, and quick to resolve any problems or issues, and very knowledgeable of the Austin/Pflugerville area. Like the spacial arrangement of the beds and flat screen TV. My only complaint was that it was hard to find the turn-off from I-35 at night when I first tried to find the place. Will definitely stay here again.

A convenient motel for one of those horrible early morning international flights, so all we needed was a simple room with a comfortable bed to sleep and that is what we got, no frills but we didn’t need any. The young lady on reception was very friendly and efficient and arranged our early morning taxi pick up, directed us to a local restaurant which was walking distance and then gave a free wine which had not been expected but was gratefully received. Will stay again for the next early flight.

The room was clean and comfortable, and though small, adequately furnished. My reason for selecting the motel was its proximity to the airport for an overnight stay after very late arrival, so the lack of availability of the shuttle after 10pm was disappointing (especially for the taxi driver who was angry about the small fare). However, the arrangements for after hours arrival worked well – I had been told the room number, and the door was unlocked with the key inside. I appreciated the availability of the shuttle whenever I wanted it the next morning for the trip back to the airport. I would stay here again in the same circumstances. Reasonable value at $119

    Only Great Service

    Albywon (1,486 reviews)

Exceptional service from Kylie (or Karley) who picked me up from the airport. That free Shuttle, the proximity to airport and pretty fast free Wifi and that is the end of the good news. Apart from that it was a very basic roadside inn and noting the proximity to the airport is really no big deal in Wellington. The bed was uncomfortable, the interior shabby (see the photos). Functional and basic really, and the sound of the wind blowing gave it a bit of a creepy feeling. And a bit depressing really. Should be less than $139 per night in my opinion – high double digits at best.

The worst place I have sleep

    Katarzyna K (8 reviews)

I have spend in motel one night traveling from Greece to Poland. The only good thing is place – near the main high way road. The web site look like village of cottages and there is a lot of green etc. The pictures shows only the restaurant (opening 24 hours). The rooms are in small buildings behing that fantastic pictures. If you are realy tired the motel is good solution to sleep only view hours.
The room was dirty, pieces of wall was falling down, AC wasn’t working, fridge – it was but doesn’t work, the hot water was only during view minutes so I only clean our baby in hot water. Husband was waiting couple of hours to take small shower, the shower was brown and dirty, everywhere were spiders net. I realy afraid to sleep. As for price 40 euro per three persons (included infant) I was expecting something more.
it is hard to find hotel near the high way in Serbia. When we were going to greece we sleep in city Palic near the board and we pay 50 euro and the standard was fantastic.
I will never come back to Stari Hrast again. The worst motel I have been.

Booked this as we needed easy access to E-75.Parking was good and the staff were friendly. We stayed one night and had an enjoyable time in the bar/restaurant where we chatted to local people who gather there to socialise.Plenty of friendly and welcoming buzz about the place and other shops outside. On the strength of this we would have liked to have scored this motel highly. However, the room which was in a separate accommodation block was absolutely terrible in every way possible and we could not possibly recommend anyone to stay here overnight.

    Greater Wellington, New Zealand

We booked this at very short notice and found the reception staff very helpful in getting our booking arranged. Check in was a very friendly and positive experience, as was the check-out.

We were only there for one night so only had a short time to enjoy the pool in the dark but it was very pleasant and well set up.

The only disappointment was the very dated feeling, starting with a surcharge for using a credit card and a large sign on the fly spray advising you would be up for $8 if it went missing. The room was tidy but dated and lacking any comfortable chairs for relaxing. While everything worked, there was a feeling of the original decor having been touched up a few too many times.

Although free WIFI was offered, I was unable to get it to work – it just kept dropping out.

    Hi David
We have a constant refurbishment programme in place where each year a minimum number of units are totally refurbished.the unit you had during you stay has yet to have its make over and is priced accordingly. on your next visit may we suggest trying a lakeview unit as these are twice the size of the little studios and are far more modern.
With regard to Wi-Fi a simple call to reception would have solved your issues, as on checking your stay record i find that you had no completed the logon to the network, which is two stages – selecting the Chelmswood Guest Wi-Fi service, then after logging on to that (limited service) then entering your password allows full service.

    Taupo stop

The rooms are very out dated and are not organised very well. The kitchen cupboards didn’t close and it felt very much like staying in an old person’s home. While the staff were very friendly and the thermal pool was lovely, the rooms just didn’t match the quality of what I was expecting. Would be a great place to stay once they did an update of the rooms.

Since our last stay at this fabulous place, the management has changed but the new owners have continued to provide wonderful family accommodation and we enjoyed our stay just as much (if not more, because we wanted to book another night!) as our last. The rooms were immaculate, good quality and service was also top notch, nothing was too much. More

I would normally not stay in a place I would give two stars, but it’s the only hotel in Venice Beach that allows large dogs. It’s only $50/night and you get what you pay for. We don’t spend much time in our room when we vacation so it’s all good.
They only offer free wifi with an AARP membership; otherwise, you have to pay for it, which I didn’t. We also had two incidents where the shower completely stopped when we were showering. The first time, the front desk said that they had a water main break. several months ago and have had some problems ever since with a couple of rooms and just to give it five minutes and it should come back on.
The next day, same thing happened and another lady said I’ll get it fixed right away! and it was. Not really sure what that’s about, but I’ve never had a shower stop mid-shower at a hotel.
I’ll probably come back, but only because there’s no other hotel that will accept dogs over 20lbs.

This was a good hotel for the.

This was a good hotel for the price. We wanted a place with free Internet and free breakfast and both services were great! The room was small but nice, we were hardly there, so it was good. The breakfast is pretty good, LOVED the waffles and the hard boiled eggs 🙂 There is also coffee out for guests 24/7 but sometimes they run out. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful, I forgot a comb, so they gave me one and we were told up front that there was a charge if the safe was used, so we surrendered the keys right away (dodged that bullet right away, just in case!) The parking situation, is a bit hectic though. VERY small spots and they charge $26 per night per car. Be prepared for that. The area that it is located is very convenient. Close to Fisherman’s Wharf and an even shorter walk to the famous Crooked Lombard St. The neighborhood felt pretty safe, we walked to Ghiradelli Square after dark and didn’t feel endangered at all. Oh, and at the hotel, when you book it, request a water view! Would stay again! Also, if you get the chance: Check out Sausilito right across the Golden Gate Bridge, beautiful, quaint little town! And you can take the ferry back instead of walking back across the bridge!

I actually look forward to staying here at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero when I travel to SF on business, so much that I have stayed here on vacation as well. I like everything about this place – service, food, location, room size and decoration, cleanliness, amenities available in the room (coffee, hair dryer, etc.), working temperature control, beautiful views on any side of the hotel, walking distance to many fantastic SF spots. I lik stepping out of the hotel and seeing a cable car right in front of me. I stay here 3 or 4 times a year, have been for many years. I miss the Christmas train set up in the lobby of past years, condolences on the passing of the employee who used to organize that. However they still do a fabulous holiday decorating job in the cool atrium lobby during November and December. Note that this is not a luxury hotel but it is not a budet hotel, either! I am here now, just finished a fabulous asparagus and crab omelette with coffee and toast, in my room for $48. I have been in many hotels in many cities, but the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero is the only one I don’t really have complaints about and actually look forward to. Good job, Hyatt!

I am at the Hyatt Regency now.

I am at the Hyatt Regency now and I have to say, I am impressed. The atrium inside is a brilliant sight, with long strings of grand lights running from the 14th floor down to the lobby. Away from the holidays when the lights come down, they have a fountain that draws the attention. The bar/lounge is in the atrium, in the center of all the action. Comfortable lounge chairs and tables look inviting as you walk through the atrium. Away from the holidays when the lights come down, they have a fountain that draws the attention. Rooms are large with a flat panel TV, ample desk space and a reading area. Bathroom is a little small, but I love that they put tooth paste in my room. The hotel decor, from the lobby to the room is very contemporary. Located in the center of all the action, and ideal for business travelers, I definitely recommend this hotel for your business stay in San Francisco.

was one picture on the wall that was a bit scary. For dinner we drove into Tombstone centre and had Mexican food. We had a quick look around town but it was getting dark and the street lighting is old school so we drove back to the ranch before it got too dark. There was a really loud cricket noise through the night, but not enough to keep us awake. We have gained 2 hours in 2 days but our bodies haven’t adjusted yet so we called it a night relatively.

This motel is the most disgusting place I have ever attempted to stay in. The office had two packs of cigarettes and about 100 boxes of condoms for sale..first bad sign. Not even going to mention the stench in the office. After checking in we go back to vehicle to go to our room and there is policeman posted in the parking lot. Second bad sign. Pull in front of our room and there is a gang of people hanging in front of a room a few rooms down from us, from my perception they we doing something illegal and the cops were there watching them. Third bad sign! And last but not least the room was disgusting, just dingy white sheets on the bed and blood on the bathroom floor that was it for me, we left the room key lay on the old rickety falling apart desk with no chair and hopped in our car and found a more suitable place to stay. Even if I didn’t have money for another hotel I would have slept in my car. I wouldn’t even allow my pets to sleep in a place like this. If you are looking to get robbed, buy drugs, or obtain a lady of the night this is a hotel for you.

This motel is awful – the office is mostly empty

I would advice not to book this motel even if it is the only one available. Service is bad. I don’t think they change the sheets. No bath towels and small hand towels were on the floor. No phone, no water, no coffee. No blanket. Terrible. I made a big mistake booking a room in this motel.

    New Haven, Connecticut

First impression – The Office. I walked in and there were two people waiting, and absolutely no one behind the glass walled desk area, and no bell, phone # or any way to summon someone. Finally, a woman walks in, unlocks the door and walks right through, and to the back which looks like their living quarters. No acknowledgement of anyone in the waiting area at all. No Be right with you . just plain rude.

I left, came back later. still no one behind the desk, but a young man came out and he was friendly and efficient. We got our keys, entered the room, and it was fine. It is very old fashioned, but everything was clean, so we were OK with it. The bathroom was clean, but had only 2 small, very scratchy ‘bath’ towels, and 2 wash cloths. that was it, and they were not changed during our stay. I do not think the bathroom was cleaned at all while we were there. The bedsheets were thread bare with holes.

They proudly advertise free internet. It’s slow as molasses at its very best. no signal at all some of the time. It would usually open an email slowly, but forget about trying to open a link within the email.

The room has a nice looking flat screen TV on the wall. There’s a list of the many cable channels provided, along with a brochure of HBO offerings. Fugeddaboudit! All we were able to get on the TV were seven channels. that’s it, seven. No CNN, MSNBC, WEATHER. HBO. what a joke.

This was actually our second time at this hotel. we told ourselves it wasn’t THAT bad. but it was VERY frustrating.
