Phoenix Hotels And Motels

Considering its a roadside hotel, for a one night, it was very good! I am demanding with two major things when it comes to a one night hotel: needs to be CLEAN (it was. and it smelled good as well!) and SAFE (i was on the second floor and cannot relate to any of the bad experiences others had, thankfully) and my experience with this hotel provided me with those. The rest of the things, for such a short cheap stay, I am not so demanding about. We arrived late at night and were very well received by the frontdesk, Maisha (?) and we chatted a bit about the region and its history. Having read some bad reviews, I was a bit uncertain about what I would find, but I found a very clean and comfy room, with a clean bathroom and tv/wi-fi that were also available for free. In the morning, breakfast is served and the gentleman in charge was very polite and served us directly, very nice of him as it was not necessary. We were very very pleased with our stay and have nothing bad to say about the place, quite the opposite. I would stay there again, if necessary. Hope other people get more good experiences like mine as well.

The Front Desk Empolyees: Eliz.

The Front Desk Empolyees: Elizabeth who works the graveyard shift, Alexis, Vicky who work the morning shift are very nice. Elizabeth who works the graveyard shift, when she does her rounds around the property, she locks the sliding doors so no can enter. That’s what I call being in a safe hotel. If you are a guest went out the doors are locked. You just use your room key to enter back into the hotel. Vicky Alexis really do listen the your needs requests. The place was perfectly located to where we had to be go. They say Hello to you and ask if everything is ok with your room. How has your day been going. Very friendly place to stay. If I ever go back to Phoenix, I will stay there again. A must place to stay.

This Travelodge had a Great Price, Free Fast Internet, Small Breakfast, Free Parking, Heated Pool. It is very clean, new rugs, nice personnel, very hot showers and a quiet area. We were on ground floor but for a quieter experience I would get a 2nd floor, but away from stairways! I would recommend it if you are needing the above and want to stay on a budget and only come back to sleep anyway. The breakfast is not exciting but they do have apples, oranges, and more. They have pancakes too, (I did not try these) In the areas down the street– there are lots of fast food and many other restaurants. Easy access to the freeways.

If you are looking for a hotel close to Parliament Hill and other attractions such as Byward Market and Rideau Centre, the Econolodge Downtown is within a 5-10 minute bus ride on bus #’s 7, 12, 14, 18. It’s a two story walk up hotel with parking in the center court behind the front desk. The staff are nice and the standard continental breakfast is provided between 7:00 am and 10:00 am. daily. The negative aspect is although we received a discounted rate through booking.com it still cost $139.00/night. Our room was clean however, in dire need of upgrading and renos giving it a dingy appearance. Our room faced the front street so the windows were dirty. No bottled water was provided for the coffee machine. We did have a fridge and microwave in our room and wifi is provided. Not sure that I would stay here again unless they upgraded.

I would have given 4 star but as for the worst check out and unexpected disturbance.

When we checked in we meet Mr Rakesh and his wife, wonderful people and very professional. we were supposed to stay for a night but as we experienced there welcome, clean rooms and great location we decided to add one more night.

Upon check out we found a lady there and strangely she started to deny that they have my deposit of of 100usd and 100 Canadian dollars as a deposit. Secondly she started your room has not been paid. As per their policy you pay in advance. She was not even ready call Rakesh to confirm the he received the payment when he had signed for it.

After a lot of time waste and argument she admitted that the money has been banked by someone in the office.

After waiting another half hour she hands me 200 Canadian dollar saying that’s the best she can do again we had to discuss the rate difference etc. Then finally she paid me my full.

I really couldn’t understand why all this commotion when it was clear signed records.

We have been travelling around Sth Aus with friends. After various types of accommodation this was given top points. The room was excellent, the laundry good. the only downfall there is only one washing machine and one dryer and as we all had heaps of washing we monopolised the laundry when others needed it. Food and presentation was excellent. More

Dear Traveller We appreciate your review and thanks for the ‘top points’. We have only just installed our guest laundry this week – with brand new washer and dryer and newly built laundry room. Dallas Motels

I saw a number of negative reviews after booking a room, scared me a bit. There were also positive reviews that appeared to be in direct conflict. Close to freeway, a light sleeper *might* be able to hear road or even rail noises – I did not. Parking area is well lighted, security on duty at night. Staff was polite courteous. Not all rooms have fridges. Towels are thin. Soap, but no shampoo or other freebies. Bed was comfortable, wood/linoleum floors give clean impression. I found nothing seriously wrong… THIS IS A BUDGET HOTEL, price was right I can pack my own toiletries! Stayed 3 nights YES, I would stay here again.

I am so happy to find this hotel as it had plenty of truck parking for the Over The Road trucker. What a relief it is to step out of the cab for a weekend and just relax. Located in a fairly quite neighborhood, with a Racetrack quick stop not far away for food. I do plan on making a stay here a regular thing for my SoCal to Dallas run, but I do hope to find refrigerators in the rooms in the near future. Tammy the front desk clerk has been here for over a decade, and she is by far the best hotel employee I have ever met. Looking forward to my next stay.

I wish I spent more time in the room! This hotel is set off the road behind a gas station/Jack In The Box, but I wasn’t disturbed by noise at all. I had a King No Smoking room, and when I opened the door it was nice. The bed was so inviting and the room had a nice scent (freshener). The cable, fridge, iron, lamps, toilet, etc. all worked fine. I didn’t use the microwave, but it was clean. The front desk clerk was nice and very helpful. I was impressed not because of the hotel chain but the area it was located. Good Job!

    Austin Motel

This is one of my favorite places to stay in Austin! The Austin Motel offers a solid, quirky and cheap place to stay in one of the best areas of town. Rooms go as low as $98 per night and you can walk out of your hotel room and immediately land on the South Congress strip. Rooms book super fast around popular events in Austin, so be sure to book asap. Most of the rooms are decorated with different wall paper designs and themes like Western and Mediterranean. There’s a small pool that’s great for cooling off in the summer. If you appreciate charm, want to stay in the best location and don’t mind just the basics, I definitely recommend Austin Motel.

An Austin staple for over 77 years. It s centrally located, literally steps from Jo s coffee. There is a pool available parking if always free for guests- that alone may be worth the stay. Another iconic Austin landmark.

This is the quintessential place to stay in Austin, with eclectic style, a great location and of course that sign that resembles certain unmentionables. The staff is always nice and the stay is pretty quiet despite being right on South Congress. Book in advance; the place fills up fast.

A staple of Austin s culture, the location is incredible right on South Congress near downtown, the rooms are all decorated different, and in genera,l a very eclectic and funky theme. Rooms are a great price and the hotel is a fun place all on it s own.

The Austin Motel is a jumble of color with a kidney-shaped pool and plenty of little nooks to get lost in besides your room, which will be lovely. There may be no gentler entry into Austin s Congress Avenue scene than with plenty of time – maybe a long weekend? – booked into the Austin Motel. Guests can walk to tons of bars, cafes, clubs, and get a real taste of Austin culture. There s shopping nearby, too – but an afternoon matinee at the Continental Club watching Redd Volkheart play guitar will be far more enriching. I dare you to walk all the way to Magnolia Cafe – it s downhill on the way back to the Austin Motel.

Austin is in a continual state of flux these days, but one thing will always stay the same: the Austin Motel will always be hip. It s a refreshing stalwart of the city s local charm, with a hodgepodge of colors and eclectic designs characterizing each of the rooms (no two are alike) and a 1950s era kidney-shaped swimming pool shaded by old-growth trees, all just a few feet away from the rapidly changing and expanding tourist attraction that is South Congress Avenue. One noteworthy highlight–the adjacent Snack Bar cafe provides guests with delicious, small plate specialties (all natural and organic) for breakfast, lunch dinner and even in-room deliveries.

A wonderfully funky mid century hotel just outside of downtown Austin. Back in the 70s it s rumored that this place used to rent rooms by the hour. It s changed a lot since there. Now, it s fun and funky with an attached restaurant and it finds itself along a fun strip of shops and watering holes. Not far from the Continental you ll find that this a great place to rent a few nights of stay if you are coming for SXSW. Sure, it s a bit further out than some venues but I think you ll find the extra room a breath of fresh air.

If you are looking for an offbeat place to stay, you ve found it! It is nicely located and walking distance from a lot of restaurants and nightlife. It isn t too far from the Bat Bridge. “God Bless Johnny Cash” reads the bumper sticker on the old Volvo parked in one of the mini-garages next to a room at the Austin Motel. This motel definitely defines the Keep Austin Weird motto of many South Austin hipsters. I loved the wall murals in the rooms. Accommodations are basic, but comfy and the hotel staff is among the friendliest I ve encountered.

The web site look like village of cottages and there is a lot of green etc. The pictures shows only the restaurant (opening 24 hours). The rooms are in small buildings behing that fantastic pictures. If you are realy tired the motel is good solution to sleep only view hours.
The room was dirty, pieces of wall was falling down, AC wasn’t working, fridge – it was but doesn’t work, the hot water was only during view minutes so I only clean our baby in hot water. Husband was waiting couple of hours to take small shower, the shower was brown and dirty, everywhere were spiders net. I realy afraid to sleep. As for price 40 euro per three persons (included infant) I was expecting something more.
it is hard to find hotel near the high way in Serbia. When we were going to greece we sleep in city Palic near the board and we pay 50 euro and the standard was fantastic.
I will never come back to Stari Hrast again. The worst motel I have been.

Terrible room but friendly staff and nice bar/restaurant

    dubliner_8 (138 reviews)

Booked this as we needed easy access to E-75.Parking was good and the staff were friendly. We stayed one night and had an enjoyable time in the bar/restaurant where we chatted to local people who gather there to socialise.Plenty of friendly and welcoming buzz about the place and other shops outside. On the strength of this we would have liked to have scored this motel highly. However, the room which was in a separate accommodation block was absolutely terrible in every way possible and we could not possibly recommend anyone to stay here overnight.

stayed here a few nights room wasn’t too bad except there was dog hair from previous people who had stayed and the lounges were a bit worn/tatty and scratched up, aircon didn’t really work. made booking by phone and told them it was for 2 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs was told it would be a $200 security deposit which was fair enough once we got there they said because we had 2 kids and dogs it was an extra $200 deposit $100 per child and dog was not happy but paid it just to have a place to stay with dogs as it was the only one left on short notice and was told it would be refunded immediately on checkout. upon checking out we asked how long till the deposit would be refunded and was told to come back in an hour did so and was told they hadn’t had time to inspect the room so we started to head home being reassured that it would be returned within 24hrs which it wasn’t, almost 4 weeks later and after a few calls to them and being abused by the manager it still wasn’t returned told them if it wasn’t in the next day I would contact fair trading which it surprisingly was returned that afternoon. I will never stay here again even if I was desperate

    Top little motel

    Louise J (7 reviews)

Whether you’re travelling with a pet or not the Koala Tree is a very nicely updated and well maintained motel. Bright paint, clean modern bedding and towels, and polished wooden floors make it a big step up from how we remember dog-friendly accommodation when we last travelled with the terrier twins. Thanks for providing such a top spot to stop.

    DON T GO THERE

    Sue W (10 reviews)

The room was tiny supposed to have a kitchenette didn’t have it. It was booked for three people and only supplied with 2 towels no bath mat no hand towel. The room was freezing the air con didn’t even make the room warm. The beds kept sliding every time you moved. The shower was like a very fine mist disgusting. We had a microwave with no dishes I would not recommend this motel to my worst enemy. Had to go to office for more towels etc We went to supermarket to buy cups to drink out of will never go there ever again and to top it off they charge like a wounded bull

We have been staying at this particular Super8 quite a few times and we are so happy with it that we keep on coming back! The rooms are spacious, clean with comfortable beds and modern furniture and appliances. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast area has been updated and it’s now larger and offers a waffle maker which my kids absolutely love, the waffles are delicious! Overall, it is a great place to stay at for both its value and great location (close to shopping and the airport). you really can’t go wrong with this place and we highly recommend it.

We’ve been staying at this Super 8 location for many years. It has always met our needs, but this time we were pleasantly surprised to see their recent renovations. The rooms have had an update and they look great! We like the new bedding and drapes. We especially liked the black and white photos of Niagara Falls above each of the beds. Very authentic and connected to the region. The front desk staff were welcoming and friendly. Great value for the money.

Excellent location and friendly service. Loved our room. All the rooms had just been redecorated including new furniture. We forgot a small cooler that we left in the small fridge in our room. Before we called about it the manager had already called and left us a message. When we called him he said they would keep it in the fridge at the motel and we could pick it up on our way back. Great service! Thank you. We’ll be back!

    San Antonio Motels

I don’t know why this place has so many bad reviews but our experience there was great! The man at the check-in desk was super friendly and helpful. Our room was nice, we had a king bed, tv, microwave, and refrigerator. I saw a review online that said they didn’t have many channels and that their wifi didn’t work but they had over 60 channels and the wifi worked great when I hooked it up to my room. Another review also said that the rooms smelled like smoke which is not true. The main hallway has somewhat of an odor of smoke to it but only because some rooms are smoking and some are not, so that makes sense. The rooms that are for smokers are next to each other and the ones for non smoking are together as well so there should not be a problem with the smell. The room was very clean,so where the sheets. I had to check them because I read reviews saying that they were stained, which again was proven to be wrong. I went there dreading my stay due to all of the negative reviews but it turned out to be great! It was comfortable and everything in downtown San Antonio was in walking distance. I will definitely be staying here next time we visit San Antonio. My advice is ignore all the negative reviews and see for yourself. It’s a very good price and a comfortable stay!

We stayed at the Red Roof Inn for two nites and three days June 12th through June 15th, 2009. The staff was courteous and extremely helpful. We walked to the Alamo and also to the Riverwalk. We did not ever feel as if it was too dangerous to walk, even late at night. The underpass by the highway is lit up very bright at night and we walked back as late as midnight. The room was clean and well maintained. When we go to San Antonio again next year, we will stay at the Red Roof Inn Downtown by the Alamo again. We also were pleased with the hotel fee for our accommodations and did not feel as if we were overcharged. A great room at a great price! I will say this, I am the one who decided to make the reservations after researching other hotel rooms and also getting input from several friends in Missouri (where we are from). The reviews I read after already making reservations were not good and were very negative. After reading these reviews, was concerned but did not inform my husband of the negative reviews and I decided we would stay anyway. Today as I write this review, both my husband and I are glad this is the hotel we chose to stay in. The staff and the hotel were excellent and I would recommend it to anyone.

This hotel is great and wonderful. i stayed in the hotel for couple of nights and the service was great. the breakfast was excellent and great cable and all channels. the rooms look great. its like living in a palace. thats all i have to say. if i had a choose of what hotel to stay at in san antonio it would be this one. #sunset motel

    CaitlynsMom (78 reviews)

I booked the hotel 2 weeks prior to the stay. A couple of days prior to the stay the room was more than 50% cheaper. Naturally we cancelled the first reservation and re-booked at the lower rate. The front office smelled of curry which is fine I suppose if you are in a restaurant but not a hotel office/lobby. We went our room only to smell mold in the bathroom. We tried to call the front desk but the phone had no cords attached – this was a not meant to be a wireless phone (the phone looked like it came from he early 90s possibly late 80s). I might ad. I found the cords behind the furniture but it did not help as the phone did not work. We walked back to the office and the manager/owner came back and said she could not smell anything. She was politely arguing with my friend who was telling her that she was allergic to mold and would not be able to sleep. Finally she showed us the room next door only for it to smell of smoke (this was a non smoking room) in the bedroom. The bathroom had a strong smell – like a bad cleaning product. We asked for another room but were told we had to pay more. Or we could go back to our original room and she would spray it. We walked away back to the original room where our belongings were talking about how we would rate on social media when we the manager/owner came back to us and tell us she could give us the larger room at no additional cost – that room had no smell. However the tv did not work and the phone barely had any buttons on it. at first the manager/owner said she could not do anything about the tv. Then she told me to unplug the tv blah blah blah and see if that would work. I followed the instructions 3xs with still no tv. Finally the manager/owner came and after 15-20 min got the to to work (I think on accident) because she seemed surprised when it worked. She tried to blame it on the the oat guests. Whatever.

I would like to add that the parking lot does NOT have enough spaces per room.

If I could give zero stars I would. The customer should come first especially if it comes to health. A room should not smell. Nor should an office/lobby smell.

Too many choices in Santa Barbara so this should not be considered.

    To Whom it May Concern,

First off would like to say I have NEVER in my 30 years traveling have I ever contacted Headquarters regarding a stay but this one takes the cake.

Th Motel 6 Little Rock West in Litlte Rock, AR is the worst ever Motel 6 I have ever stayed in. Ladies of the night working, loud music, Partying going on all night. When complained to the staff advised they be gone next week then it may be quiet. This place was filthy, in a bad location, and very seedy people hanging out there. Looked like weekly rentals as the people in room next to us had a propane tank in their room and they were cooking. Again I say do not stay here. I have stayed for the past 30 years at Motel 6 but never again. They ruined it. Home office should really check on this one the other reviews are just as bad and my husband is Police Officer and he said NO way would we stay here again.

Motel Six W, General Manager at Motel 6 Little Rock – West, responded to this review

Not the best place, but considering location I would definitely stay there again. Parking is not so easy as many others have observed, but doable. Make a reservation. Rooms were absolutely okay, but don’t count on a view. Area was also okay. Sure you will see homeless, but you’ll see that nearly anywhere. Location was within easy walking distance to Hollywood attractions and an easy walk to the Metro to go to Universal Studios.

Cheap, noisy but right on Hollywood Blvd walk of fame

    JubeSouthWales (18 reviews)

Ok place to stay but don’t expect much in terms of the hotel. Terrible old decor although you may like orange. The hotel is literally a minutes walk off Hollywood Blvd and about a 10 minute walk to the Chinese theatre. Rooms are noisy thin walls and squeaky floors. Music from clubs and street noise can be heard through the night. Road it is on is a bit seedy with a super cheap hotel next door with some odd characters hanging around outside it.

Walk of fame is much more grubby than we had imagined with a good many homeless sleeping on the street from early evening onwards. If I ever went again I wouldn’t chose to stay in Hollywood itself.

Parking at hotel was $12 but it was full when we arrived but an open parking lot next door was available at $25 for the night.

The is by far the cleanest hotel I have stayed at in some time. In spite of the age of the property, the rooms were sparkling clean and well maintained. Even the elevator was clean! The bed linens even still smelled freshly washed – which you would expect, but rarely find. Both the check-in and morning check out staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was basic. A decent value for the price. Any restaurants or c-stores for quick shopping are about a mile away. Very, very quiet, even though it was in an industrial/sports park area. Easy access, and for a nice change, parking spots marked wide enough to open the doors on average vehicles so you can load/unload to go in and out!

Good Hotel and Friendly Staff. The Rodeway Inn was beautiful. For the price we got, I was very shocked at how nice it was. The lobby was gorgeous, staff was friendly and rooms were huge and spacious. The lobby was well maintained and decorated. The beds were clean and soft. The beds were covered with new bed sheet and linen. The Hotel is near to Shopping Malls Restaurants Lounges. The location is great and easily accessible. The Staff was friendly and help us in providing information which we needed. I recommend this hotel.

“Love this hotel!” I stayed here for just one night and check in was smooth and service was great also. t was impeccable from the outside appearance, the lobby decor, and the room layout. The hotel was so clean, nice, the rooms were very spacious clean. The exercise facility was clean, well maintained and had numerous types of equipment to choose from. Enjoyed the hot tub and breakfast is always a true happy experience at Rodeway Inn Suites. Will definitely stay there again if I’m ever in the area.

I was really looking forward to staying here after seeing the Gleneagles documentary. It looked great.

But I stayed here for while I was working a couple weeks ago, and I was very disappointed. Check in was very chaotic and confusing and took ages. There were numerous groups of tourists around, all looking for directions to different parts of the hotel.

My hotel room was nothing like what was advertised on the website. It was really old, decrepit with seriously squeaky floorboards. The hall on the way to my room was littered with Ironing boards and trays full of dirty dishes. The bath/shower was awfully narrow and not comfortable. However it was clean; wifi was good; and good selections of channels on the TV. It was however seriously noisy, and again, the floorboards were so creaky – who ever was in the next room woke me up in the middle of the night when they got up to use the bathroom.

Room Service was inedible one night, and I ended up going out after it to get some food. The second night we went down to O’D’s, but there was a really bad smell of cooking oil that both of us recoiled and went to the hotel next door.

The decor down stairs was nice, and the swimming pool looked o.k. There was a childrens show on, which the kids were loving (and my child would have adored)- but Captain Jack was the sadest looking captain I have ever seen.

    Breakfast was adequate.

Checking out was equally chaotic, with issues on our bills they weren’t able to rectify. Even though it had been pointed out to them before we paid.

All in all, I would never stay here again. Perhaps it might be better for families – but I wouldn’t stay here with mine.

GlenGuestRelations, Guest Relations Manager at Gleneagle Hotel, responded to this review

We are genuinely saddened to read your review on your recent visit and to hear your stay was not as expected and that you felt this way about the hotel.

We are a bustling hotel and yes we have had days that have been extremely busy for check ins especially when a lot of guests all arrive at the same time however this is not something we can foresee and can only manage it and do the best that we can in trying to make all our guests feel as welcome as the next. I understand this can be overwhelming to some people on arrival however we are a large Hotel and there will always be guests looking for directions and advice on where to go and what to do this is expected in the height of the peak season.

We are sorry that you were let down with overall experience and we are disappointed that you never asked to speak to a Manager about any of issues while you were here or give us the opportunity to rectify and ensure that you left with a more pleasant experience.

I am sure if you did decided to return at a stage that is perhaps not in the height of Family Peak Season that you would enjoy a more relaxed and pleasant stay. Should you ever wish to contact me directly please do not hesitate and I will be happy to look after you.

    Kindest Regards

This hotel is average but the prices are super . It is much more expensive than the Strand and Savoy but not of the same high standard. Limerick has a great surplus of hotel rooms. So check around. Excellent value can be had for €70+. This place now needs to be upgraded. Worn shabby carpets and disinterested bar staff weaken its appeal. It’s location is not great either in a city where you are conscious of such things and if you cancel in advance they will try and charge you for the privilege. With their present prices it’s one good reason why VAT should not be reduced for hotels. They don’t pass savings to the customer.

DonnachaGM, General Manager at Absolute Hotel, responded to this review

Its really disappointing to get feedback like this. Sorry.
After taking the time to read the review I feel that the writing is very emotive so I can clearly see you are upset.
I’ll take on board any feedback but it is important to ensure that all reviews are fair to all concerned. We take complaints very seriously and I’ve not been able to identify if you spoke to any duty manager at the hotel to highlight your issues and give us a chance to remedy regarding the carpet or staff interactions.
The pricing policy we operate is clear and we feel we give value for money. Sometimes we are slightly more expensive or indeed cheaper than the completion but we price based on demand and availability as always the guest will decide. We have no hidden extras and even have free car parking available. For example as I write this the strand is €25 more expensive and the Savoy is €34 more expensive than us.
Location is of course subjective so point taken there.
The cancellation policy is very clearly communicated and is not there to catch anyone out. If you book an advance purchase rate for example, it is cheaper and a condition is that you can’t cancel it but if you book another rate it is fully cancellable up to 3pm on the day prior to arrival.
Regarding the VAT rate we have greatly benefited from this initiative. It has helped the business to be more viable and to consequently employ more people and invest in our product ie we now have Nespresso machines in all our rooms for example. I suppose to be very clear if VAT goes up, it will be impossible for the hotel to absorb, so we will have to either employ less people or purchase less in the open economy or pass on to the consumer. Neither is something I would be in favour of doing but for certain something would have to happen if the VAT rate changes.
However, that is out of my control and all I can do is to try be a good employer and a good hotelier looking after my guests so they are happy.
We’ve clearly missed with you on this occasion and that makes me sad as a business manager but I have to dust myself off and drive on.

    Regards
    Donnacha Hurley

Hotel staff were lovely from the moment we arrived. Double room was slightly dated but immaculately clean. The staff in the leisure centre and spa were so accommodating and my treatments were top quality. Only criticism was my first treatment was close to spa reception so could hear phones ringing and staff chatting. Was there on a groupon deal so for what I paid for I couldn’t fault. Again bar staff were lovely and chatty and make good recommendations for places to go and we ended up seeing some of the staff after their shift in one of the pubs they recommended! Food was good pub grub and good selection at breakfast. Didn’t get a chance to eat in the other restaurant. Really positive experience and I would definitely go back,

Tavistock Hotel (London, England) – 2016 Hotel Reviews #drake #hotel

    Burntwood, United Kingdom

Very nice hotel in a superb location. From the time we walked in we were greeted with very polite staff who couldn’t do do enough for us. We took two teenage boys and the rooms were more than spacious for us. They offered free WIFI and when there was a problem with my son not being able to connect there was a helpline that helped him resolve the problem. There were a few of downsides. TVs in the rooms could do with being a bit bigger and in the family room there wasn’t enough plug sockets to accommodate phone charging needs. A touch of paint here and there would be good. These are very small downsides. Would I stop again? Definitely and also recommend it to anyone.

My third visit in this hotel. When you book make it directly through their web-page so you can get the English breakfast included and if you stay more than one night you can get free three course meal. The price is a bit high compared to the value, but that is normal in London. Rooms are tidy but worn. The double bed we has was really small for two normal sized, so it is better to have twin room. Since my last visit they have wifi-covereage in the rooms and that is good.

So all went well. Checked into this place on a last minute booking and paid my £119 (approx €144). The machine went a bit crazy and appeared to reset itself but the transaction was completed by the banks so no problem.
Next morning there became a problem in the photo attached. I was asked for my card and despite being reassured I would not be charged again I was. Explained this to the lady (am unable to use the true descriptive on here) who promptly told me I was not charged at check in although my statement says I was, would not pass me to a manager despite my request and used the exact words this is the last Tavistock hotel you will ever stop in whilst grudgingly voiding the wrongly charged transaction. Attached you will see the girl who wiped a couple of stars from my opinion of the place. If you stay there pay cash, get the receipt on check in and avoid the attached at all costs. Official complaint will be prepared against the hotel with her cited as the primary cause.

It has been a couple of years since I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria, but I had to leave a review for such a fabulous hotel. The staff and concierge were so great, they would go out of their way to help. The room was beautiful, clean and full of charm. The meals were delicious, and everything about this hotel was grand. In a perfect location. this is the way to enjoy New York.

    Nice old hotel

    David G (6 reviews)

Hotel was nice but dated in the rooms and hallways. I liked the amount of space in the room and throughout the hotel. The Bull and Bear restaurant and bar is a good time. The service was prompt and courteous.

Hotel Danieli, A Luxury Collection Hotel (Venice, Italy) – 2016 Hotel Reviews

    #hotel danieli

    ast1963 (131 reviews)

Having seen the hotel on The Tourist – we decided we must stay here – though actually just the main lobby and reception actually featured in the film! Regardless of this it is a beautiful hotel – we had booked a deluxe room with breakfast for 3 nights – and was upgraded to a lagoon view in the main original building above the Tourist suite – which was a nice surprise. They had booked a few restaurants for me that we had read about on trip advisor- though in the end we cancelled 2 of them having had a look whilst in the areas. Just Tratatoria Johnny (reviewed) we ate at of which we were so glad we did.
From the moment you enter the hotel you know you are going to have a wonderful stay. Breakfast on the terrace on the 4th floor has the most spectacular views of Venice and the grand canal. We ate under the huge canopy – that runs the length of the terrace and protects you from the strong sun and heat. Everything was delicious and breakfast was a wonderful start to the day.
The hotel is located a few minutes walk from St Marks Square and the river bus stops right outside.
We opted for the river bus from the airport – which in retrospect I wish we had taken a taxi. The river bus is 15 euros pp and can take about 90 mins with a number of stops before arriving outside the hotel. It is quite a slow ride.
The river taxis speed past and are about 100euros for a 40 min ride. The walk from the terminal to both the river taxis and river bus can take about 10 mins zig zagging to the lagoon from the terminal.
The hotel offers a free taxi to a Murano glass factory which is well worth it. We had a walk around the island after the glass blowing show and inevitable hard sell of the most amazing glass chandeliers, objects and glass. then walked back to the factory who then arranged for a free taxi back to the old Jewish ghetto rather than the hotel.
I found our room felt a bit on the small side due to the porthole style windows behind a stone balustrade. The bathroom is quite compact with rainfall shower in the bath, bidet, all in beautiful marble. The room is richly appointed with period furniture, drapes and lights with a large standing wardrobe, dresser and super comfortable huge bed with delightful pillows as one comes to expect from Starwood premium hotels.
One criticism was that our room was not serviced on the Sunday of our stay between leaving at 9.30am and returning at 4.30pm. They sorted it out immediately after I pointed it out.
Despite the hotel being very busy as it was the middle of the film festival – we never felt standards had been sacrificed on the other guests.
Apart from the cleaning oversight – if you can push the boat out and stay here – you should. A wonderful experience.

I stayed here for just over a week for work in the area. The Hotel is located just off of junction 9 on the M20 and is easy to find.

The Hotel check in is fast and friendly. The car parking is more than adequate for the hotel an always has plenty of spaces.

The rooms are really nicely decorated an the atmosphere is relaxing, the beds are huge for doubles and so nice to sleep on. The bathroom is equally nicely set out and the shower is really powerful which is great.

The food is of a high standard both the breakfast and the food served in the restaurant and bar at night, the breakfast is an buffet style of both traditional English and Continental with Meats and Cheeses, Fresh Bread rolls, Pastries, Cereals and Fruit juice’s. The English breakfast has the usual Bacon, Beans, Eggs either Fried or Scrambled, Mushrooms, Hash Browns Sausages with either a fresh pot of Tea or Coffee.

The evening Menu for the restaurant and bar are very well thought out, I must have tried almost every meal. The food is cooked and presented to a very high standard and quality. An all can be washed down with a good drink from the bar of what ever you like.

I did use the room service whilst I was there a few nights, I only ordered sandwiches and a desert. All was presented well and it all tasted great. The room service does come with a £4 tray charge but for the quality of the food I think is a reasonable charge. The food was delivered to my room really promptly an the staff members were always happy an sorted any issues out very quickly.

All that said I would highly recommend The Ashford International Hotel to anyone either heading to the continent or coming into the UK for a visit.

We had booked this hotel to stay in the same hotel as our children/grandchildren. But our children had booked and put there credit card to hold the room and told the hotel they where coming in very very late. When they got there the hotel had given there room away. Just what you want at 4:00am. They did upgrade them to there sister hotel the Fantasyland. But not before sending them to check into a room in the West Edmonton Mall Inn that was occupied by another guest. Just what you want the front desk to do but to give a key out to an occupied room in the middle of the night.
We had wanted to stay near the grandchildren. But was not to be because they best they could do for us was offer us a $250 a night room at the Fantasyland but to also tell us you needed 24 hrs to cancel our room at the West Edmonton Mall Inn. We were stuck then with the West Edmonton Mall Inn.
This hotel had dirty common areas and elevators. The check in time is 4:00 PM. and they were not happy to check us in at 3:30PM. Breakfast is very basic. The only thing going for this hotel is that it is right across from the mall. I would recommend people stay elsewhere.

Hotel is in a great location. Quiet street but plenty of restaurants within a couple of blocks. Metro (Bayswater Station) buses very close by. Staff very helpful pleasant. Our room, with a double bed was small, as per most European ones but large enough to leave luggage out open. Quite modern comfortable. Bathroom small but again very pristine. Room had all amenities needed: hair dryer, safe, tea kettle. plenty of lights small flat screen. We had a room with garden view. Very pleasant. Found it quiet and comfortable. WiFi was very good in our 1store floor room. We were very happy with our choice.

This hotel ticks the main boxes. good location (close to bay water subway), clean, and comfortable.

However, the room is small; the bathroom is very small (you feel like you are hugging the sink whilst sat on the toilet) and I had to step out into the main room to brush my teeth as the small space makes you feel claustrophobic.

We checked in late as a couple and had booked a twin room. We asked whether a double was available. This was checked and it was however, the staff member refused to provide this to us; instead insisting that we would need to pay to upgrade the room should we wish to have the double bed (even though it was clear a room was available and would not be allocated that night given it was so late that we checked in). We therefore decided to stick with the twin bed. This hotel does not know how to do business; any other hotel would have provided us with the double without a further charge and we would have noted this to stay with them in the future. Surely changing one bed of sheets is less time-consuming than changing two single beds?

We are disappointed to note that we received racist remarks from staff on our way out of the hotel from the cleaners and the staff on reception automatically assumed we were overseas guests because we did are not caucasian. This should be a question asked of guests and not automatically assumed (as overseas guests are required to provide further ID documentation upon check-in).

To sum up, the hotel itself is good but the service is simply not up to scratch.

I stayed just 1 night due to my broken air conditioner at home during a heat wave. I like the Kimpton brand have always wanted to see inside this hotel. As usual the decor was chic, rooms clean comfortable and the location is outstanding; if you are a Karma member the wifi $10 bar credit are included (free!). If I was from out of town I would love this area. What makes this place outstanding however is the friendly, dog loving professional staff. I ate breakfast Sun morning the team was very friendly food was tasty. The front desk housekeepers all greeted me warmly with smiles. But the standouts for me were the valet team hands down. At first I was annoyed at the price to valet however when I couldn’t find on street parking I just did it thank goodness I did! The next day I had a flat tire-apparently I drove over a nail it didn’t deflate until the morning. Those valet men acted as if this was very personal to them I was a member of their family. They jumped to change my flat-in 100 degree heat!-all to find out my spare was flat too; ugh. I told them I had AAA but they stayed with me even offered to run to get an air pump when AAA was taking a long time. It was so hot humid but they were really concerned about me until I got going again I am so very grateful. Everyone especially Male(sp) his supervisor are golden in my book. Stay here.

I came into the hotel exhausted after helping to move my daughter into her apartment on a very warm day. I made a comment that I could not wait to rest with a glass of wine and the gentlemen behind the desk started to leave towards the bar to get me that glass of Presecco. I told him I would get it later myself but that is how lovely the customer service is at this hotel. There was a minor problem in the room and once they learned about it they thanked my husband for letting them know and proceeded to give us a credit which we did not ask for or expect (but appreciated).
I stayed in this hotel twice and will do so often in the future. The rooms are very comfortable- the decor lovely but playful- Love the elevators- I have enjoyed the stays particularly the welcoming, efficient customer service.

Mark_HayesPHL, General Manager at Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia, responded to this review

I’m exhausted just thinking about having to move into another apartment. You definitely deserved a glass of prosecco, not to mention a couple more days of rest and relaxation. Hopefully you booked one of our spas or suites because they have an enormous spa tub. nothing like quality hydration therapy! Sorry to hear about the hiccup, but glad that we were able to rectify it in short order. Can’t wait to welcome you back soon!
