Prevent Someone Else from using Your Wireless Internet Connection

Do you suspect that a neighbor is using your wireless Internet connection? It could be that your Internet connection is slower than it should be or that your devices keep disconnecting from the router. Someone connected to your wireless router can also access shared folders on your network, so data theft is a real threat. Luckily, there are ways to detect unknown connections to your network and ways to stop them from connecting.

The main defense against wireless leechers is securing your wireless router. Even though most wireless routers from ISPs come with long passwords, someone can still gain access by simply copying the password printed on your wireless router, since most people don t change the default password set by their ISP.

If you have a router that you bought on your own, no one will be able to use the password written on the router unless you don t change the default password. We ll talk about all this below. Let s first talk about how to detect wireless leechers.

Detect Unauthorized Wireless Connections

There are basically two ways to go about detecting all the devices connected to your wireless router: either check on the router itself or use a device already connected to the network to scan the entire network. I prefer the latter method because it s less complicated, however, I will mention both ways.

The first step is to connect to your wireless router from your web browser. In order to do that, you have to type in the IP address for your router. If you don t know it, read my post on determining the IP of your wireless router. Once you have that, you ll need to login using the username and password.

If you don t remember the password or you never changed the default password, that s a problem. In either of these cases, I recommend resetting your wireless router to factory default settings and starting from scratch. It may sound like a monumental task, but it s really not.

First, read my post on resetting your wireless router. which is fairly easy to do. Next, don t worry if you don t have the paperwork for your router anymore because you can either find the default password on the router itself or you can find default router passwords online .

Once you are able to log into your router, you can check what IP addresses have been allocated on the network. Usually, this information is located somewhere on the main page and can be called something like Devices, My Network, IP Address Allocation, Attached Devices, Wireless Status, Connected Devices, DHCP Clients Table, etc. It really depends on the router you have, but you should see a list like the one shown below.

Most new routers will also show you the name of the devices, so it s easy to tell if the device is a phone, tablet, printer, IP camera, NAS, streaming device, laptop or computer. If you can t figure out what device is associated with an IP address, you can always try to paste that IP into your web browser and see if it loads a web page. Some printers, camera, etc. will have their own web interfaces that you can connect to via the browser.

If all of that is too complicated, another method to find connected clients is to use a smartphone app. For Apple devices, I recommend Net Analyzer Lite and Fing Network Scanner. Fing is also available in the Google Play Store .

These apps are actually better than going directly to the router most of the time because they can give you more information about the device. Fing can even figure out if you have a console on your network, which is pretty cool.

Now it should be pretty easy to find a device that is not supposed to be connected to your network. If this is the case, what can you do? Keep reading to find out how to secure your wireless network.

Secure Wireless Network

The first step you should take if you think your network has been compromised is to completely reset your router as mentioned earlier or buy a new router if the current one is old. If someone was able to connect to your wireless router, they could have also compromised the router and may be able to monitor all activity on the network.

The next step is to log into your router and to immediately change the default login for the router. Many people assume that setting a strong WiFi password is all they need, but this is not case. It is true that in order for someone to log into your router, they first have to be connected to the wireless network. However, there are many times when you have guests who you cannot trust fully that need to connect to your wireless network for a short time.

Router Admin

Once connected, if they are the hacker type, they might try connect to your router and try the default username and password to log in. If you never changed it, they now can access your router and have full control over your WiFi network. So change the router login password immediately.

If you can change the username also, go ahead and do that. Admin is the absolute most common username on routers and changing it makes it much harder for someone to gain access to your router. If you have a wireless router from an ISP, the username and password for the router admin interface is also printed right on the device, so make sure to change it from the default values.

You ll have to poke around the various setting and configuration pages as these options are located in different places for different vendors. Now that you have changed the router login info, the next step is to setup the wireless security.

WPA/WPA2

There are three main ways to secure your router at this point: choosing between WEP, WPA, and WPA2 encryption, disabling SSID broadcast and enabling wireless MAC authentication. I firmly believe you really only need to use WPA2 encryption with a long key to be very secure, but some people like to take extra precautions and it could be worth the extra effort if you have very sensitive information stored on your devices.

Some routers make this really easy for you, like the Verizon FIOS router advanced security settings page shown above. You should only use WPA2. if possible. WEP is very insecure and WPA can be cracked fairly easily. If you have devices on your network that cannot connect once you setup WPA2, then you should pick the option that has WPA + WPA2 Personal. Make sure you choose a long password. Note that it doesn t have to be a bunch of random numbers, symbols, or letters to be secure. A strong password just has to be a long passphrase .

If you ve followed the steps above, resetting your router, configuring the admin password and using WPA2, you can pretty much be certain that anyone previously connected to your wireless network is now disconnected.

If you want to go further, you can read my post on disabling SSID broadcast. but it really doesn t make your network much more secure. Enabling MAC address filtering will make your network more secure, but it makes everything a lot less convenient. Every time you want to connect a new device to your network, you ll have to find the MAC address for the device. log into your router and add that to the filtering list.

In conclusion, if you suspect unusual activity on your network, you should immediately follow the steps outlined above. There are chances someone may be monitoring your computer if they are connected to your network, so it s better to be safe than sorry. If you have any questions, post a comment. Enjoy!

Expense Report Software

Buyer’s Guide

Expense report software helps companies simplify the management and tracking of T E, or, business travel and expenses. By providing increased visibility of employee spending, expense management software can increase adherence to corporate spending policies and help organizations budget and forecast for future expenses.

With so many expense reporting systems on the market, it can be hard to decide which one is right for you. With that in mind, we created this buyer s guide to help you narrow down your choices from the selection available.

Here’s what we’ll cover:

What Is Expense Report Software?

Tracking expenses is an essential task for every company. Expense report software automates the entire expense management process, from submitting a claim to analyzing business expenses. Not only does this save time, but it reduces errors caused by manual data entry.

While systems vary, the key steps in this process include:

Submit claim. i.e. employee expense report, to manager for approval. Employees can easily create and submit expense reports for work-related expenses like transportation, lodging and meal costs. Management reviews and approves, then sends the claim to accounting for processing and reimbursement.

The ability to automatically import expenses from personal and company credit cards and accounts streamlines the expense report process and ensures no expenditures are overlooked.

Additionally, organizations can customize approval workflows to help structure the approval process by setting limits or creating rules dictating spending overrides and adjustments.

Process expense report. Features such as automatic expense import and integration with popular accounting systems, such as Quickbooks Online andIntacct. eliminate the need for manual data entry and minimize the chance of errors.

Reimburse funds. Direct deposit allows for quick and easy funds transfer, so companies can reimburse employees more efficiently and the compensation is available for immediate use.

Analyze spending. The ability to track spending by expense category, unit or vendor provides insight into spending trends and identifies areas for cost savings. Organizations can improve their cash flow cycle and forecast for future expenditures.

Additionally, reviewing expense data helps ensure that employees are compliant with company policies and can even assist with fraud detection (see Key Purchase Drivers section below for more details).

Key Purchase Drivers

There are three main drivers that push a business to automate their expense management system:

Cost: Submitting and processing an expense report can be tedious and expensive. Automating this process saves time and cuts down on transaction costs.

For example, many systems offer mobile apps that allow employees to take a picture of receipts or scan and email the receipt, and the relevant data is extracted and autopopulates on the report. Approved expenses, such as car mileage, flights or hotel lodging, are pre-coded for streamlined processing.

Even more, systems that include integration with accounting platforms and offer direct deposit help reduce the time and costs associated with claim approval and reimbursement.

Compliance: Internal company policies as well as external government and tax regulations can cause non-compliance risks for an organization. Expense management systems help reduce risks by evaluating expense reports against internal and external regulations.

For example, managers and accounting can set up expense rules so they are automatically alerted when an expense is submitted that isn t filed under an approved code. This can help catch innocent errors more quickly and alert management of situations involving possible fraud.

Productivity: Time and money lost due to misplaced receipts, forgotten expense approvals and error-prone manual data entry and expense calculations, can put a significant drain on employee productivity and satisfaction. Expense management software can curb these issues and increase efficiency.

For example, employees can use their mobile device to take a picture of receipts, rather than having to keep track of various paper receipts while traveling. Managers can set up email reminders for employees about submitting reports and for themselves about approving reports. Automating these processes can boost productivity tremendously.

Common Features of Expense Management Software

Features of these systems can vary from vendor to vendor. Below are some of the most common functions:

How to Set up a Wireless Network (WiFi) Connection

Part One of Three:
Installing the Router Edit

Acquire a wireless router . There are a variety of factors that will determine which router is best for you. These include distance, interference, transfer speed, and security.

  • One of the most important factors to consider when purchasing a router is the distance between the router and the devices that you are wirelessly connecting. More expensive routers generally have more antennae, which can lead to a more stable connection at further distances.
  • Another factor to consider is the amount of signal interference. If you have multiple devices that operate on the 2.4 GHz band, such as microwaves and cordless phones, these can interfere with the Wi-Fi signal. Newer routers can operate on the 5 GHz band, which is much less crowded and thus less prone to interference. The drawback is that 5 GHz signals do not travel as far as 2.4 GHz signals.
  • Transfer speed is a feature to consider. Newer routers claim to be able to transfer data up to 450 Mbps. While this may be helpful when moving data between two computers over a network, it will not increase your general Internet speed, as this is set by your ISP. There are three main router speeds available: 802.11g (54 Mbps) 802.11n (300 Mbps), and 802.11ac (450 Mbps). It is important to note that these speeds are virtually impossible to attain in any environment other than a clean room free of signal interference. [1]
  • Finally, make sure that the router you are purchasing has the latest form of wireless encryption, WPA2. This is pretty much standard in all new routers, but is something to consider if purchasing an older, second-hand router. Older encryption algorithms are much less secure; a WEP key can be cracked in just a few minutes.

Connect the router to your modem. Once you’ve purchased your router, you will need to connect it to your modem. The router will have a port in the back labeled WAN/WLAN/Internet. Connect this port to the modem using a standard Ethernet cable.

  • Make sure that the router is properly powered and turned on.

Connect a computer via Ethernet cable. This step is not always necessary, but can be very useful if you want to set up the wireless router before connecting any wireless devices to it. Connecting a computer through a physical cable will allow you to tinker with the wireless settings without losing your connection to the router.

  • For optimum efficiency while setting up the router, plug it in next to your computer while you adjust the settings. After you are finished configuring the router, you can move it to where it will normally stay.

Wireless alarm systems with constant monitoring are more affordable than ever and will give you the peace of mind you deserve.

An In Home security alarm monitoring system is a crucial part of building a new house, or upgrading an old one. In fact, if you are simply moving into a different, but not necessarily new, house, the alarm system and whether it is monitored should be a question you ask the previous homeowner.

Most people know enough to take basic precautions in protecting their home—like leaving an outside light on so neighbors can see an intruder if you are away, locking the doors, owning a barking dog, and password protecting a computer system. Many people try to keep valuables locked in a safe or at least hidden in a location they hope will be unsuspected. The problem with all of our personal efforts to practice safety is that we are human, and it is almost impossible to think of every opportunity that we might accidentally give to a burglar. That’s why we need the protection of a home security system that includes the services of a monitoring company. It is the company’s job to be alert when you cannot be, either because you are not home or because you are sleeping or simply caught off guard.

Buildings of all types, and even cars are burglarized every day. Some of the thieves are simply desperate people who may be unable to find work and have resorted to crime in an attempt to survive. Others, the more dangerous crooks, are professionals who know every trick in the book for staging a robbery on private property. Furthermore, the best crooks even know how to steal items that will be of great value to themselves but that you will have a hard time tracing once the items have left your home. Certain things like jewelry and antiques you don’t use every day might not even be missed until long after the burglar has pawned your belongings in a location far away from you. It just isn’t worth depending on yourself or your family members to be alert 24/7, 365 days a year. When you rely on a company to protect your home for you, just having a sign up indicating that you have a home alarm system will often deter a burglar

Thanks to the new wireless technology, a home alarm system can be installed in your home with only an hour or two of work. The monitored systems need to be installed by licensed professionals who can communicate with the company and check to make sure everything is working properly before they leave.

If you think you are mechanically inclined enough to install your own system, you can purchase an inexpensive wireless system at your local hardware store, but if it doesn’t do what you want, you are responsible for the results. Even with a professional system, however, you can get very reasonable prices and you can choose the features you want included. For example, if you already have a dependable fire alarm and/or sprinkler system, you may not want to pay an additional price to have a fire or smoke alarm included with your security alarm.

Of course, if you do not already have adequate protection for disasters other than burglary, you can get alarm systems that include flood warnings, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide sensors and more. You can also have closed circuit TV, so if you work in a place where you could take a glance at your home yourself, you might want to check that out. Just be aware that the more bells and whistles you include, the more expensive it will be. Furthermore, before worrying about the add-ons, you need to analyze your own home, counting the windows and doors that need protection. You also need to decide whether you want a silent alarm that only notifies the police, or one with a siren that will alert all the neighbors as well. If you live too far away from other homes, a siren will just give the crook time to grab what he can and get away before the police get there

Added benefit of s security system
In addition to protecting you against a break-in, a security system may also save you money by lowering the rates on your homeowner’s insurance. Some companies give as much as a 20% discount for having an approved security system. Furthermore, if you ever decide to sell your home, having a security system already installed and active could increase the value of your home. Finally, some alarm system monitoring companies give big discounts on the system itself—some even giving you the equipment for free once the system is activated—while others will knock off a month or two of service fees if you pay for the whole year at once.

Secure Your Home while Saving Money!
A house alarm security system has a secondary benefit that could help pay for itself in time. That is, you could be eligible for lower rates on your homeowner’s insurance. If your insurance carrier does not offer such a discount, you might consider shopping around, as many companies give as much as a 20% discount for having an approved, in home security system.

How to Hack-proof Your Wireless Router

Updated April 22, 2017

OK, so I know there is no such thing as hack-proof or hacker-proof , just like there is nothing out there that is completely water-proof , let s just say that in this article we re going to learn how to make your wireless router as hacker-resistant as possible. Now that we ve got that out of the way, let s get down to business.

Your wireless router is a prime target for hackers wanting to infiltrate your network or freeload off your Wi-Fi connection.

Here are some things you can do to make your wireless router harder to hack:

Enable WPA2 Wireless Encryption and Create a Strong SSID Network Name and Strong Pre-shared Key

If you aren t using Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA2) encryption to protect your wireless network then you might as well leave your front door wide open because hackers can virtually walk right into your network. If you re using outdated Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) security, which is easily cracked in seconds by most hackers. you should consider upgrading to WPA2. Older routers may need a firmware upgrade to add WPA2 functionality. Check your router manufacturer s manual to learn how to enable WPA2 wireless encryption on your router.

You will also need to make a strong SSID (wireless network name). If you are using your router s default network name (i.e. Linksys, Netgear, DLINK, etc) then you are making it easier for hackers to hack your network.

Using a default SSID or a common one helps hackers in their quest to crack your encryption because they can use pre-built rainbow tables associated with common SSID names to crack your wireless encryption.

Create a lengthy and random SSID name even though it might be hard to remember. You should also use a strong password for your pre-shared key to further discourage hacking attempts.

Turn on Your Wireless Router s Firewall

If you haven t already done so, you should consider enabling your wireless router s built-in firewall. Enabling the firewall can help to make your network less visible to hackers looking for targets on the Internet. Many router-based firewalls have a stealth mode that you can enable to help reduce your network s visibility. You will also want to test your firewall to ensure that you have configured it correctly.

Use an encrypted personal VPN service at the router level

Virtual Private Networks used to be a luxury that could only be afforded by large corporations. Now you can buy your own personal VPN service for a small monthly fee. A personal VPN is one of the biggest roadblocks you can throw at a hacker. A personal VPN has the capability to anonymize your true location with a proxied IP address and can also put up a wall of strong encryption to protect your network traffic. You can purchase personal VPN service from vendors such as WiTopia. StrongVPN. and others for as little as $10 a month or less.

If your router supports personal VPN service at the router level then this would be the best way to implement a personal VPN as it allows you to encrypt all traffic entering and leaving your network without the hassle of setting up VPN client software on your computers.

Using the personal VPN service at the router level also takes the encryption process burden off of your client PCs and other devices. If you want to use a personal VPN at the router level, check to see if your router is VPN-capable. Buffalo Technologies has several routers with this capability as do other router manufacturers.

Disable the Admin Via Wireless feature on your router

Another way to help prevent hackers from messing with your wireless router is to disable the admin via wireless setting. When you disable the admin via wireless feature on your router it makes it so that only someone who is physically connected to your router via an Ethernet cable can access the admin features of your wireless router.

This helps to prevent someone from driving by your house and accessing the administrative functions of your router if they ve compromised your Wi-Fi encryption.

Given enough time and resources a hacker might still be able to hack into your network, but taking the steps above will make your network a harder target which will hopefully frustrate a hacker and cause them to move on to an easier target.

Installing A Home Security CCTV

Choosing a good CCTV for monitoring your house is an excellent idea, as it will help
you increase the security in and around your house.
Once you have bought a good CCTV that will be able to record the activity in your house,
the first step that you need to take is to install the CCTV. Before that, you need to decide
where to put up the CCTV. This is rather important as you should position the camera at a crucial position,
which will allow you to observe who is entering and leaving the house.
So the position will be of utmost importance. After you have decided upon a good position,
there is the tiny matter of installing the camera. Now you can either do this by yourself or
you can entrust the job to a professional. If you want to do it all by yourself,
then be sure to follow the instructions specified with the CCTV.
Each model is different than the other, so be sure to read the instructions first.
If you do not want to go through all of this hassle, you can simply call upon a professional to get the
CCTV installed, and it will be done in a flash

The indoor home alarm systems

Burglar alarms come in various types. All of these types differ in their functionality and applications.
Broadly, the main two types can be classified as indoors and outdoors.
Let us go through some of the most common types of alarms which are used in the former surroundings.
• Passive infrared detectors
There is a reason why these are the most popular type of alarms. It is because that not only are they affordable,
they are extremely reliable. Their basic detection technique is that they can sense objects which emit infrared
waves i.e. heat. A change of temperature between adjacent surroundings is what they basically look for.
• Ultrasonic detectors
Unlike the passive infrared detectors, these emit their own energy. Such devices transmit ultrasonic
waves of frequencies under 75 kHz which are not audible to humans. They can detect any kind of motion due to the
change in the frequency of the waves.
• Microwave detectors
Their working principle is rather elementary. They use a transmitter to emit microwaves and then use a receiver
to detect whether any of them get reflected back. Both the transmitter and receiver are placed in a single housing.
These are just few of the many other kinds of indoor devices available. Contact us for proper installation
at the most affordable prices.

Why people install security systems home and office

There are several reasons why a homeowner may install a security system but the most common reason is to
protect their home from burglars. If you actually take a minute to stop and look around your home to see all of the items
that you own, you will quickly realize that there are a lot valuable items in your home.
Installing a security system is the only way to make sure that these items are actually secure when you are not at home.
Another reason why people install security systems in their home is to give themselves the peace
of mind knowing that all of their prized possessions are safe and sound when they are not at home.
Worry about the safety of your possessions while on vacation is a great way to ruin an otherwise fantastic vacation.
Having to stress about the belongings in your home can really dampen the mood of a vacation,
which is why so many people elect to install a security system in their home.
This way they know that everything they own is secure while they enjoy their time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Paying too much for monthly cellphone service? You’re not alone. The average monthly cellphone bill from smartphone giant Verizon Wireless was a staggering $148 per month in the fourth quarter of 2014. If you are tired of overpaying every month, check out this mobile phone startup and start saving hundreds of dollars a year on phone service. Data has shown people who ditch their expensive smartphone giants save about $1,400 annually. FreedomPop is a new player in the mobile phone space and relies on towers from big players like Sprint to ensure reliable nationwide coverage. With Sprint service, people are paying $60 per month for unlimited service. With the same nationwide coverage as Sprint, people are saving big when switching over to FreedomPop’s $19.99 per month, unlimited talk, text, and 1GB data plan. Disrupting the mobile phone space means more than cutting the cost of service. There are also no lengthy contracts, generous 90-day warranties, and a completely free monthly service for people who prefer smaller plans. You can also bring your old phone over with their “Bring Your Own Device” program.

What is Mobile Broadband?

Older 3G wireless Internet technology delivered slow Internet speeds in comparison to traditional DSL and cable Internet connections. However, today’s wireless Internet technology including 4G LTE delivers mobile broadband speeds equivalent and even faster than DSL and cable. Today, mobile broadband Internet connectivity can replace existing home Internet broadband.

What is Wireless Internet?

Unlike DSL and Cable Internet technology that require physical at home or at the office connections, wireless Internet technology, including LTE allows Internet access anywhere, anytime, with any device. Connect your desktop, iPad, iPhone, laptop or any device wirelessly, ensuring Internet access no matter where your life takes you. Whether you need to connect to the Internet from home, the office, coffee shop, hotel, or even at the bar, wireless Internet technology will connect you.

DECT 6 #wireless #phone #systems #for #business

#

Whether you re opening a new office and need phones, or planning to update your existing phone system, there s a technology you need to know about that eliminates phone system wiring hassles and expense.

With only one phone jack in the entire office it lets you put four cordless phones in service with no need to run cabling, no need to install phone jacks at each desk, and no need for any servers or computers. It s simple, reliable and economical. It s called DECT 6.0 .

Well, maybe I should clarify that last statement. If you re still using POTS (the “plain old telephone system”, aka the monopoly phone company) you don t need any computers or servers. But if you have moved (or are about to move) to VoIP. of course you ll need a computer that connects you to the Internet.

It stands for Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications. It s an industry standard that defines how dial tone can be passed via radio signals to a cordless phone. A DECT phone system comes with a base unit. It plugs into the phone jack that delivers dial tone into your office or building. When you make or receive a call, your cordless handset communicates by radio with the base unit. DECT phones are digital, not the analog cordless phones of years past.

How Does DECT Help You?

• The DECT cordless technology works whether your dial tone is delivered by a POTS phone line or a digital VoIP line. If you re still using POTS but plan to upgrade to VoIP, your DECT phone will continue to serve you well
• DECT phones are cordless and convenient. Many can be used with headsets, giving you continuous communication no matter where in the office you may be
• If you re currently running voice over your data network and do not have quality of service (QoS) technology installed, DECT will eliminate the dropped words, noise, static and distortion your phone system probably generates
• You can forget about the complexity of punch-down panels, wiring closets and cabling when you switch to DECT. It eliminates the costly nightmare of pulling phone cables through the walls and ceilings when you need a phone in a new location

Is DECT Right for You?

The original DECT 6.0 technology limits the number of cordless handsets to four. Subsequently, manufacturers (such as Spectralink ) have extended the capability of DECT 6.0 using proprietary hardware to support more than 4,000 phones. However that s a much more complex and expensive solution. I want to focus on the simplicity of DECT for small businesses in this article.

Clearly, a company with a boat load of inside sales reps dialing out or receiving calls all day isn t a good prospect for a four-line DECT phone. Yet for millions of small businesses DECT makes the perfect phone system. Retailers, service companies (think lawn care, plumbers, electricians, contractors, medical and dental offices) and others who rely primarily on face-to-face contact with customers rather than phone contact, are ideal candidates for DECT.

DECT phones have been available in the U.S. since 2005. Manufacturers competing for market share have differentiated their products and added important features. For instance, you can buy DECT phones with Bluetooth to link with one or more cell phones, allowing you to make or receive cell phone calls at your cordless handset. If you d like to learn more, check in at Cordless-Phone-Update.com for their summary of phones and the overall DECT marketplace.

Types of Service – Honeywell Intrusion and Communications #burglar #alarm, #burglary, #home

#

Types of Service

The AlarmNet network’s reliability is assured with a state of the art network control center that houses dedicated communication services and hardware platforms. Hardware servers and communication paths are completely redundant, with hot back-up databases housed in two separate locations. If one system were to have a catastrophic event, the other system can take over without any service interruption. Both locations are equipped with battery and generator backup along with technical support 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week for uninterrupted service. This level of sophistication allows us to handle alarm communication for UL listed and critical high-line security installations.

Network Architecture

In the AlarmNet architecture, although each of the networks are independent of one another, subscriber radios and Internet transmitters may send messages from one network and be received at nearly any central station location in North America over another technology. The AlarmNet Network Control Center (NCC) accomplishes this integration. This design offers the following important benefits:

1. Integration of Multiple Networks

One of the fundamental principles behind AlarmNet is the integration of different network types. In the AlarmNet architecture, member central stations are equipped with AlarmNet wireless or Internet receiving equipment or both. This equipment communicates directly with the AlarmNet network. Depending on its needs at installation at the protected premise, an installer may choose to use any of the available types of subscriber radios or Internet transmitters, whichever works best for that installation. Although each of the different products may report through a different network, the central station does not need to incur the costs of time, money, or labor to operate, maintain, and integrate all of these networks.

When a central station signs up with AlarmNet, it establishes a network connection scheme between the central station and AlarmNet and as a result gains access to any of its customers at the protected premise through that scheme and the interaction of AlarmNet.

2. Learn One, Know Them All

All of the different subscriber devices used for the different network services have a similar look and feel. The same programming tool is used for most of the devices. All signals are delivered to the central station in a uniform, familiar reporting format. This assures that the central station can receive signals from any type of AlarmNet subscriber; past, present, or future. Once equipped to receive alarm messages from the AlarmNet network, the central station can provide network services to any subscriber without additional expense.

3. Supervision and Speed of Delivery

AlarmNet radios and transmitters are supervised on a regular basis. The supervision is performed automatically, and is transparent to the central station. The AlarmNet network communicates with all AlarmNet devices on a regular basis, assuring that they are operational. The AlarmNet network reports to the central station only when there is a problem. The central station does not need to worry about supervision or maintenance of the network, since the network performs these functions automatically. The central station only receives the signals it needs: actual alarm or trouble messages. When the network receives an alarm, it automatically and immediately forwards the signal to the appropriate central station. The AlarmNet transmission generally will reach the central station before the traditional dialer-based signal, in cases where an AlarmNet device and the digital dialer both send signals.

4. Secure, Redundant, Wireless Protection

Not all competitive wireless subscriber services offered in the market are wireless at both ends. For example, due to the design of the cellular network, competing cellular services deliver signals to the central station over the regular switched telephone network. In these cases, the communications integrity of the central station (and all premises protected by that central station) is vulnerable to the same weaknesses as any landline-dependent customer (line cut, service outages, and natural disasters). Limited services such as these protect only a portion of the communications chain. Standard AlarmNet wireless delivery, however, assures an end-to-end wireless system that provides redundancy, supervision, and verification of message delivery. It only makes sense that the central station should use wireless communications to maintain the same level of security and performance in its communications infrastructure as it does at the protected premises.

In order to maintain a redundant, invulnerable link to subscribers using wireline-terminated networks, a service provider must maintain at least two physically distinct and independent connections to every network type. AlarmNet maintains such connections at every level, saving the central station the expense and complexity of maintaining such an elaborate communications infrastructure. AlarmNet’s connection to the central station also has two layers of redundancy: every central station is equipped with a primary and backup transceiver.

I was testing this when I had it attached to the window, just to see how well it worked. The units got about 1 inch apart and the most deafeningly loud siren went off. I was terrified and scrambling to try to close the window again to make it stop. ) I can totally see someone being scared to death by this and running away as fast as possible. Very simple to just tape to the window with the included double-sided tape. Worked way better than I expected and was way, way louder than I could have imagined. I will rest better tonight knowing these are on my kids windows. I have already recommended them to two neighbors and I have had them all of one hour.

Auto Dialer Wireless Alarm Security System

The wireless alarm security system with auto dialer is a DIY complete system that adds enhanced security to your home or place of business. The main unit of this system includes both a door/window alarm and a motion detector to get you started. When either of these are triggered, an alarm will sound emitting from the base unit. It will also call up to five different phone numbers that you set when the system is activated.

The person receiving the phone call will have the option to listen in and hear what is going on inside the house. they can broadcast their voice through the base unit so that whoever is in there will hear what they have to say (such as the police are on the way), or they can simply disarm the unit if they determine that everything is ok.

All of these modules are interchangeable and work together. You can create your own unique wireless security system.

What makes this do it yourself is that you can decide which components you need to use. If you only want two windows and one door protected, you can use only those units. Up to eight different security sensors can be used in conjunction with each other so you can have a comprehensive perimeter security plan.

This versatile system can also use our extremely popular Electronic Watchdog that starts barking like an angry German Shepard when it senses movement through your front door.

This website is about personal and home security. TBOTECH has been a self defense and surveillance store for over 16 years.

We strive to provide you with top of the line options when it comes to defending yourself, your family, and your home.
