Phoenix Hotels And Motels

Considering its a roadside hotel, for a one night, it was very good! I am demanding with two major things when it comes to a one night hotel: needs to be CLEAN (it was. and it smelled good as well!) and SAFE (i was on the second floor and cannot relate to any of the bad experiences others had, thankfully) and my experience with this hotel provided me with those. The rest of the things, for such a short cheap stay, I am not so demanding about. We arrived late at night and were very well received by the frontdesk, Maisha (?) and we chatted a bit about the region and its history. Having read some bad reviews, I was a bit uncertain about what I would find, but I found a very clean and comfy room, with a clean bathroom and tv/wi-fi that were also available for free. In the morning, breakfast is served and the gentleman in charge was very polite and served us directly, very nice of him as it was not necessary. We were very very pleased with our stay and have nothing bad to say about the place, quite the opposite. I would stay there again, if necessary. Hope other people get more good experiences like mine as well.

The Front Desk Empolyees: Eliz.

The Front Desk Empolyees: Elizabeth who works the graveyard shift, Alexis, Vicky who work the morning shift are very nice. Elizabeth who works the graveyard shift, when she does her rounds around the property, she locks the sliding doors so no can enter. That’s what I call being in a safe hotel. If you are a guest went out the doors are locked. You just use your room key to enter back into the hotel. Vicky Alexis really do listen the your needs requests. The place was perfectly located to where we had to be go. They say Hello to you and ask if everything is ok with your room. How has your day been going. Very friendly place to stay. If I ever go back to Phoenix, I will stay there again. A must place to stay.

This Travelodge had a Great Price, Free Fast Internet, Small Breakfast, Free Parking, Heated Pool. It is very clean, new rugs, nice personnel, very hot showers and a quiet area. We were on ground floor but for a quieter experience I would get a 2nd floor, but away from stairways! I would recommend it if you are needing the above and want to stay on a budget and only come back to sleep anyway. The breakfast is not exciting but they do have apples, oranges, and more. They have pancakes too, (I did not try these) In the areas down the street– there are lots of fast food and many other restaurants. Easy access to the freeways.

    Dallas Motels

I saw a number of negative reviews after booking a room, scared me a bit. There were also positive reviews that appeared to be in direct conflict. Close to freeway, a light sleeper *might* be able to hear road or even rail noises – I did not. Parking area is well lighted, security on duty at night. Staff was polite courteous. Not all rooms have fridges. Towels are thin. Soap, but no shampoo or other freebies. Bed was comfortable, wood/linoleum floors give clean impression. I found nothing seriously wrong… THIS IS A BUDGET HOTEL, price was right I can pack my own toiletries! Stayed 3 nights YES, I would stay here again.

I am so happy to find this hotel as it had plenty of truck parking for the Over The Road trucker. What a relief it is to step out of the cab for a weekend and just relax. Located in a fairly quite neighborhood, with a Racetrack quick stop not far away for food. I do plan on making a stay here a regular thing for my SoCal to Dallas run, but I do hope to find refrigerators in the rooms in the near future. Tammy the front desk clerk has been here for over a decade, and she is by far the best hotel employee I have ever met. Looking forward to my next stay.

I wish I spent more time in the room! This hotel is set off the road behind a gas station/Jack In The Box, but I wasn’t disturbed by noise at all. I had a King No Smoking room, and when I opened the door it was nice. The bed was so inviting and the room had a nice scent (freshener). The cable, fridge, iron, lamps, toilet, etc. all worked fine. I didn’t use the microwave, but it was clean. The front desk clerk was nice and very helpful. I was impressed not because of the hotel chain but the area it was located. Good Job!

    Niagara Falls Motels

We have been staying at this particular Super8 quite a few times and we are so happy with it that we keep on coming back! The rooms are spacious, clean with comfortable beds and modern furniture and appliances. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast area has been updated and it’s now larger and offers a waffle maker which my kids absolutely love, the waffles are delicious! Overall, it is a great place to stay at for both its value and great location (close to shopping and the airport). you really can’t go wrong with this place and we highly recommend it.

We’ve been staying at this Super 8 location for many years. It has always met our needs, but this time we were pleasantly surprised to see their recent renovations. The rooms have had an update and they look great! We like the new bedding and drapes. We especially liked the black and white photos of Niagara Falls above each of the beds. Very authentic and connected to the region. The front desk staff were welcoming and friendly. Great value for the money.

Excellent location and friendly service. Loved our room. All the rooms had just been redecorated including new furniture. We forgot a small cooler that we left in the small fridge in our room. Before we called about it the manager had already called and left us a message. When we called him he said they would keep it in the fridge at the motel and we could pick it up on our way back. Great service! Thank you. We’ll be back!

    San Antonio Motels

I don’t know why this place has so many bad reviews but our experience there was great! The man at the check-in desk was super friendly and helpful. Our room was nice, we had a king bed, tv, microwave, and refrigerator. I saw a review online that said they didn’t have many channels and that their wifi didn’t work but they had over 60 channels and the wifi worked great when I hooked it up to my room. Another review also said that the rooms smelled like smoke which is not true. The main hallway has somewhat of an odor of smoke to it but only because some rooms are smoking and some are not, so that makes sense. The rooms that are for smokers are next to each other and the ones for non smoking are together as well so there should not be a problem with the smell. The room was very clean,so where the sheets. I had to check them because I read reviews saying that they were stained, which again was proven to be wrong. I went there dreading my stay due to all of the negative reviews but it turned out to be great! It was comfortable and everything in downtown San Antonio was in walking distance. I will definitely be staying here next time we visit San Antonio. My advice is ignore all the negative reviews and see for yourself. It’s a very good price and a comfortable stay!

We stayed at the Red Roof Inn for two nites and three days June 12th through June 15th, 2009. The staff was courteous and extremely helpful. We walked to the Alamo and also to the Riverwalk. We did not ever feel as if it was too dangerous to walk, even late at night. The underpass by the highway is lit up very bright at night and we walked back as late as midnight. The room was clean and well maintained. When we go to San Antonio again next year, we will stay at the Red Roof Inn Downtown by the Alamo again. We also were pleased with the hotel fee for our accommodations and did not feel as if we were overcharged. A great room at a great price! I will say this, I am the one who decided to make the reservations after researching other hotel rooms and also getting input from several friends in Missouri (where we are from). The reviews I read after already making reservations were not good and were very negative. After reading these reviews, was concerned but did not inform my husband of the negative reviews and I decided we would stay anyway. Today as I write this review, both my husband and I are glad this is the hotel we chose to stay in. The staff and the hotel were excellent and I would recommend it to anyone.

This hotel is great and wonderful. i stayed in the hotel for couple of nights and the service was great. the breakfast was excellent and great cable and all channels. the rooms look great. its like living in a palace. thats all i have to say. if i had a choose of what hotel to stay at in san antonio it would be this one. Tulsa Weekly Motels

The is by far the cleanest hotel I have stayed at in some time. In spite of the age of the property, the rooms were sparkling clean and well maintained. Even the elevator was clean! The bed linens even still smelled freshly washed – which you would expect, but rarely find. Both the check-in and morning check out staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was basic. A decent value for the price. Any restaurants or c-stores for quick shopping are about a mile away. Very, very quiet, even though it was in an industrial/sports park area. Easy access, and for a nice change, parking spots marked wide enough to open the doors on average vehicles so you can load/unload to go in and out!

Good Hotel and Friendly Staff. The Rodeway Inn was beautiful. For the price we got, I was very shocked at how nice it was. The lobby was gorgeous, staff was friendly and rooms were huge and spacious. The lobby was well maintained and decorated. The beds were clean and soft. The beds were covered with new bed sheet and linen. The Hotel is near to Shopping Malls Restaurants Lounges. The location is great and easily accessible. The Staff was friendly and help us in providing information which we needed. I recommend this hotel.

“Love this hotel!” I stayed here for just one night and check in was smooth and service was great also. t was impeccable from the outside appearance, the lobby decor, and the room layout. The hotel was so clean, nice, the rooms were very spacious clean. The exercise facility was clean, well maintained and had numerous types of equipment to choose from. Enjoyed the hot tub and breakfast is always a true happy experience at Rodeway Inn Suites. Will definitely stay there again if I’m ever in the area.

How to Look for a Hotel Room With a Jacuzzi in It

In-room Jacuzzi tubs are often scaled down version of commercial tubs. (Photo: Jupiterimages/Photos.com/Getty Images )

    Related Articles

To some travelers, nothing beats the simplicity and relaxation offered at day’s end by a soak in a private, in-room Jacuzzi tub. While many properties offer hot tubs, spas and Jacuzzis in public areas, finding a room with such an amenity is not as easy. In-room Jacuzzis are often found as an amenity in romantic resorts and high-end suite properties, but don’t count them out completely from individual boutique or chain hotels.

    Locating the Amenity

    Step 1

Identify a regional area where you’d like to stay. Search Internet websites of suitable hotel properties within that area by selecting specialty amenities from the website’s reservation requirements checklist. If the site is lacking that feature, check the hotel room amenity list or room photographs. You can also search using keywords. Type in the location, the words “hotel” and “Jacuzzi” or “hot tub” to narrow your search.

    Step 2

Search for hotels or resorts in large metropolitan areas or those that advertise features for couples, luxury in-room amenities, in-room spa features or suites. Most properties that have the unique feature highlight that fact somewhere on the property website or in print advertising. Check with the local visitors and convention bureau for additional guidance if you are not able to locate a property online.

    Step 3

Call the individual hotel directly to see if in-room Jacuzzi tubs are offered in any of its rooms. Don’t rely on website descriptions, general reservation hotlines or non-affiliated reservation services for this information. On-site reservations or general hotel staff are more apt to know the exact features of each individual room.

    Step 4

Ask the staff for a list of available room numbers that offer in-room Jacuzzis. Make certain the room listed has a fully functioning Jacuzzi, not just a deep bath tub.

    Step 5

Make your reservation requesting one of the specific rooms. Note your confirmation number and the name of the agent that gave you the Jacuzzi information. Take that information with you upon hotel check in.

    Tip

    • Many hotel properties are going green, which means cutting back on general hotel water use. Deep bath tubs and Jacuzzi tubs are being replaced with showers as a means of saving water and for guest safety. If you find a hotel room with a Jacuzzi, inquire as to future bath remodeling plans. This is especially important for reservations made far in advance of your travel dates. If you are choosing a hotel based on an amenity, you want to make sure that amenity is viable for your dates of travel.

How to Become a Hospice Worker

Hospice workers care for patients who are terminally ill and typically have less than six months to live. Each patient is seen by several professionals who make up the hospice team, including nurses, aides, physicians, social workers and chaplains. All hospice careers require employees to be licensed, certified or otherwise recognized as experienced in their occupation. New hires receive special training on topics such as handling patient loneliness and dealing with patient or family fears.

Hospice jobs usually don’t require candidates to have volunteer or internship experience in a hospice, but having it provides a foundation of knowledge and may impress future employers. The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization notes that volunteers are considered employees and receive training on general hospice topics, such as goals, services and philosophies. According to the Hospice Foundation of America, some hospices have minimum age requirements for volunteers, but they all try to find a spot for those interested. Volunteers may help in areas like child care assistance, family support or administration.

Hospice nurses are certified by the National Board for Certification of Hospice and Palliative Nurses, which issues credentials in several specialties, including pediatrics and perinatal loss care. The basic certification — Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse — requires candidates to hold an unrestricted and current registered nurse license. The NBCHPN also offers the Certified Hospice and Palliative Nursing Assistant credential to aides who have finished a minimum of 2,000 practice hours supervised by a registered nurse within the past two years.

After completing medical school and residency requirements, and passing the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination, physicians must obtain licenses where they want to practice. According to the Center to Advance Palliative Care, physicians gain certification to work in hospices by undergoing a yearlong fellowship and passing an exam administered by the American Board of Medical Specialties.

According to the National Association of Social Workers, social workers can obtain hospice certification with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and social worker license, and after completing a minimum of three years working under supervision in hospice and palliative care. The Center to Advance Palliative Care notes that social workers with a bachelor’s degree can apply to be Certified Hospice and Palliative Social Workers, while those with a master’s can apply to be Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Social Workers.

The General Council of the Assemblies of God’s Chaplaincy Department notes that there aren’t any universal qualifications for hospice chaplains it approves, but that chaplains must meet individual employers’ requirements. It says that desired prerequisites may include a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, a credential from the Assemblies of God, ministry experience and completion of a Clinical Pastoral Education course. Chaplains can also obtain certification through the Board of Chaplaincy Certification Inc. upon meeting certain requirements, such as a minimum of three years of experience working in hospice and palliative care.

Palliative care: Toronto left with few residential hospice beds

Every time a Perram House patient passed away, a staff member wrote that person s name and date of death on a small white card and placed it near a candle in the front entrance.

It was the 10-bed residential hospice s way of honouring the deceased, allowing their memory to remain in the heritage home s grand foyer, if only for a few more days.

One final card was written last month, but it didn t feature a patient s name. To the disappointment of those desperately needing palliative care in this city, it read: Perram House. April 10, 2013.

The hospice a yellow brick house at 4 Wellesley Place closed suddenly after nearly a decade of providing palliative care to Toronto residents from all walks of life.

Outraged staff accused board chair Frank McCrea of shutting down the union, which had recently organized to demand a wage increase. McCrea, meanwhile, blamed dwindling donations that had forced the charity to operate at a loss for months.

    Article Continued Below

Whatever the reason, the closure of Perram House leaves Toronto with only two residential hospices.

To me, it s really shocking, said Bill O Neill, executive director of Kensington Hospice, where the phone has been ringing constantly since Perram House closed. There s a real discrepancy between Toronto and other cities.

Kensington Hospice in downtown Toronto and Dorothy Ley Hospice in Etobicoke are now the city s only residential hospices, providing a total of 20 hospice beds for a population of 2.6 million. (Casey House, which serves AIDS patients, is classified as a hospital.)

By contrast, Saint John, N.B. has 10 beds for a population of 70,063.

Residential hospices are relatively new across Canada, but palliative care experts say they are a crucial option for patients who do not need to be in hospital and cannot die at home. They combine a home-like environment with 24-hour medical care and psychological support.

There are about 193 palliative care beds in Toronto hospitals, but most have a vacancy rate of close to zero and limit stays to 15 days. Patients can stay in a residential hospice for three months or longer.

As for home care, Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) funds three visiting hospice programs. But for patients with complex needs or without a family caregiver, it is only a short-term option.

The vast majority of Canadians say they want to die at home or in a hospice, but about 70 per cent die in hospitals. In the 2011 fiscal year, nearly 5,000 people died in an acute-care hospital in Ontario while receiving palliative care.

When there are no beds available. the patient generally ends up in a higher-cost setting, said Dr. James Downar, a palliative care physician at Toronto General Hospital. Acute-care beds are the most expensive setting in the entire system.

The daily cost of an acute-care bed in a hospital is between $850 and $1,100, compared with about $439 for a residential hospice bed.

Hospice patients receive care free-of-charge, but advocates say the savings are significant for a province trying to balance its books and hospices aren t just more efficient, they re more humane.

Coline Bettson s mother suffered a sudden brain aneurysm in March and moved into Perram House. The first night, nurses brought Bettson hot tea and set up the bed so she could cradle her 96-year-old mom in her arms.

Everything I asked for and she wanted, they agreed to. They couldn t have been more kind and caring, she said. I was stunned and appalled when I heard (the hospice closed).

In 2005, the Ministry of Health announced $115 million in palliative-care funding, including plans to fund the care costs of 34 residential hospices across the province.

Eight years later, 24 of those hospices have been built and receive annual funding of $90,000 per bed. The remainder of hospice budgets between 20 and 50 per cent must be raised through donations.

McCrea, the former Perram House board chair, said fundraising had always been a struggle.

New Democrat health critic France G linas said the ministry should fully fund residential hospices, as it does long-term care.

It s been unacceptable from the beginning, she said. Hospices deal with vulnerable people in their last days of life. It s wrong to let them rely on donations.

Health Minister Deb Matthews said in an interview that the province had come a long way since before 2005, when hospices were entirely self-funded.

We are transforming how we deliver health care, Matthews said. We are committed to investing more in the community sector and getting people out of hospital who don t need to be in hospital.

She said the health ministry dedicated $260 million to community services, including hospice and home care, in the 2013 budget. The Toronto Central LHIN has convened a working group on palliative care access.

Rick Firth of Hospice Palliative Care Ontario said most hospices are able to fundraise successfully, but Perram House may have struggled because it prioritized marginalized and homeless people.

The donations from families don t come in at the same volume, he said. That may be something we need to look at in the future.

Firth said the loss of Perram House will be felt in Toronto for the time being. Two of the hospices promised funding in 2005 were supposed to be in the city, but neither has broken ground yet.

The Toronto Commandery Hospice finally acquired land last year in North York, but is awaiting approval of its zoning application. The Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care in Scarborough still has no timeline for opening a hospice.

But Emily s House a long-planned pediatric hospice at Gerrard St. E. and Broadview Ave. is nearing the end of construction at last and hopes to open its doors at the end of May.

As for Perram House, the stunning home of sweeping staircases and vaulted ceilings built by widower Mary Perram in 1887, it now occupies prime downtown real estate, on Wellesley Pl. between Jarvis and Sherbourne Sts.

McCrea owns the home but has said he hasn t made a decision about the property. As a designated heritage home, it would require city council approval to be demolished.

Pete Perram, Mary s 52-year-old great-great-grandson, said the worst-case scenario would be for it to be turned into a condo building.

Mary intended it to be for the good of the people, the good of the community, he said. I hope that, as a legacy to her and to our family, that continues.

wiseGEEK: What does a Palliative Care Nurse do?

A palliative care nurse is a health care professional who provides treatment and counsel to patients who are dying of incurable illnesses. Nurses work with physicians and other medical professionals to diagnose, treat, and care for individuals with progressive terminal conditions. They help patients and their family members cope with very difficult circumstances by providing information, counseling, and support. An experienced palliative care nurse may also conduct research about terminal diseases and advanced care practices, develop new policies regarding patient care, advocate public awareness, and teach nursing courses at hospitals and colleges.

Patients who are diagnosed with incurable diseases often struggle to find the strength and hope to enjoy their last moments. It is the duty of a palliative care nurse to ensure that such patients receive the best possible treatments to relieve their pain and symptoms. Professionals often become close companions with their patients, providing counsel, empathy, and friendship when they need it the most. The nature of the job can be very physically and emotionally demanding, and nurses must be capable of dealing with loss and tragedy on a regular basis.

Besides administering direct care to patients, palliative care nurses frequently meet with friends and family members to help them cope with the situation and discuss the options for end-of-life treatment. Many nurses engage in research to develop new public policies and determine the best methods for administering palliative care. Professionals often take part in hospital or community discussions to present their findings and suggest ways to improve procedures.

A prospective palliative care nurse is usually required to complete a four-year bachelor’s degree program in nursing as well as a two-year master’s program to gain nurse practitioner credentials. Most new nurses intern for at least one year in an emergency room or hospital setting to gain practical experience and prepare for their eventual careers in palliative care. Individuals are usually required to pass extensive written examinations administered by a nationally recognized organization to become certified palliative care nurses. In the United States, certification is available through the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA). Most other countries rely on organizations similar to the HPNA to ensure that individuals are sufficiently prepared for the job.

Most palliative care nurses work about 40 hours a week, though their schedules are rarely regular. The times and days a palliative care nurse works depends on the condition of his or her patients. A nurse may be required to work weekend, overnight, or double shifts when a patient nears the end of life in order to provide constant care. Many nurses continue to meet with family members after the passing of a loved one in order to provide encouragement and emotional support.

    Article Discussion

    4) I’m thinking of studying to be a palliative care nurse. I have been researching a lot about what the job involves and I’m not sure if it may be too emotional?

I’m a senior care assistant at present and have to deal with supporting individuals and families with death so I have a slight understanding of what the job would involve.

My only worry is be that I have a young child and am thinking about having another one. I know the training takes years to complete but if the job is going to effect my children then perhaps the job isn’t for me.

Any comments or suggestions for me would be welcome.

    3) My grandmother lived with a terminal illness for many years, and I bless the nurse who provided this service for her. I don’t know what exactly is written in a nurses job description, but she went above and beyond, and made my gran truly live her last years to the fullest.

The job is not easy, but it’s mostly more emotionally draining than depressing. It isn’t something that you really want to come home and talk about though. This is partly out of respect for your patient, partly to shield your partner from endless tales of lives ending.

Part of my nurse education in this field covered the need for a neutral person to be sought out and be there for you to offload onto. I know I will have this structured into my week, but the person who provides this outlet is a counselor.

It sounds as if your girlfriend may not have this option, or may not be using it. She could also be burning out, and need to take a break. You could try talking to her about her feelings, and suggest she needs someone to talk to. Hope it works out for you.

    1) I’ve recently started dating a wonderful woman who is a palliative care nurse practitioner. Even though it’s early days in our relationship I can see it becoming more serious. The problem is that I don’t know how best to support her.

There’s no issue for me if she has to work long hours or cancel dates because of work. I know a job in nursing isn’t ever going to be about working social hours. I guess I’m struggling with the emotional side of it.

She seems unwilling to talk about work and let her feelings out, so more and more we’re spending time in silence. I have no idea what to say and her mind seems to be elsewhere. Should I push her to speak to me?

The year 2009 proved to be another great year for the commercial truck financing industry. How commercial truck financing works is still dominated by modes of transport, Approximately 62% of the commercial truck finance portfolio is movable property. However, since then there has been a cycle of commercial truck sales going up and down. Now we are starting to see gradual increases as the market share of commercial finance truck, machinery and industrial equipment is coming back to life. Over the last year it rose from 30.8% to 32.3% and this increase is undoubtedly the result of a clear recovery in the economy, especially when it comes to financing commercial truck. The total value of commercial financing truck last year of all vehicles exceeded 12 million (about 37% more than last year), including cars and trucks amounted to about 13 million. In this group the highest proportion of truck sales came from financing commercial trucks, about 38.6% were heavy duty trucks. After four quarters of 2006 the value of financing commercial trucks was an estimated two billion and was 45% higher than 2005. The average value of a commercial truck financing loan was over 80 thousand.
Easy commercial truck financing is currently the fastest growing subgroup of the leasing market of road transport. Last year, over 22% of used commercial truck financing was financed through the form of leasing and the total value of financing for commercial trucks was up by an estimated 58% higher than in the last few years. These are very good results for heavy commercial truck financing. This confirms that the leases are getting better while commercial truck financing rates remain the same. The leasing sector in the market of bad commercial credit financing truck sales and service is continuing to gain popularity among most companies, especially in Tampa fl commercial truck financing is rapidly growing amongst fleet management services.
The top companies on the leasing market of financing low commercial truck loans remain relatively low because only 10 percent increases of profit were recorded in the commercial truck loans and financing segment. According to members of the Association of leasing companies the development of the industry can use government funds to help with bad commercial credit financing truck. The high demand for owner operators is constantly growing, however it is estimated that 70 percent of owner operators do not have good credit. Owner operators are the force driving the industry that is why there has to be some form of guaranteed commercial truck financing.
In 2006, banks that specialized in bad credit commercial truck financing lent approximately 8 billion for the purchase of over 298.3 thousand trucks. The financial result is better than that of 2005 by 2.3% and means that fewer banks sold loans (-4.4%). The average value of commercial truck financing bad credit in 2006 was 50,000 and is almost 2.5 times less than the average amount granted for car leasing. There are 2 reasons for this disparity. First, customers of banks much more often choose a mixed option (cash + credit) to finance your vehicle which is greater than leasing on its own. Second, banks have in their portfolio a significant amount of repossessed trucks that qualify for inhouse financing on commercial trucks. They are much cheaper than new ones – for example in the case of the transfer in October by Fortis Bank and fifth in the ranking of 100% share of credit provided was for repossessed trucks.
On the market for direct financing for commercial trucks most lenders guaranteed financing on commercial trucks and successfully introduced more than 10 different promotions for new vehicles. Some of them are dedicated to selected partners while others are open for everyone.
According to the very optimistic forecasts of commercial truck financing for bad credit sales of new trailers and trucks, including the value of their loan should be much higher than the prior year. This is mainly because too many loans were given out. A similar dynamics of growth of credit share of funding should demonstrate that bruised credit commercial truck financing is still possible, since there is no clear evidence that repossessions fell sharply and rose. Despite this, 2010 promises to be very interesting because the presidents of the largest banks, non-automotive corporations, announced a fierce competition for the lead in the market for owner operator commercial truck financing. Remember that competition is the best guarantee of high quality low price, namely the cost of credit. So it appears that they will be more accessible and hopefully give owner operators a lower interest. Taking into consideration the total number of all credit type commercial truck financing applicants that apply for loans is steadily rising, by next year there should be more commercial truck leasing financing programs because the average time for commercial financing leasing trailer truck is 36 months.

8 Easy Ways to Text on the iPad

    Updated July 08, 2017

One really cool feature of the iPad is the ability to route a text message through your iPhone. This allows you to text people from your iPad even if they have an Android smartphone or a phone without any smart features at all. The iPad uses a feature called continuity to route the message through the cloud to your iPhone and then to the person you are trying to text.

Even if you don t have an iPhone, there are a few ways you can send a text message to a friend using your iPad.

But first, we ll take a look at setting up the text forwarding feature on the iPhone.

    1. First, go into your iPhone s settings. (Hint: You can launch settings by using Spotlight Search on your iPhone.)
    2. Next, scroll down the menu and tap Messages. It is the option just under Phone.
    3. In the Messages settings, tap Text Message Forwarding.
    4. This screen will list all of the Apple devices you own that can use the continuity feature. Tap the button out to the side of your iPad to enable Text Message Forwarding for it.
    5. You will be prompted to type in a code on your iPad to turn on the feature. Once you type in the code, your iPad will be able to send text messages to both iPhone users and non-iPhone users.

The iPad can utilize the same stickers, animations and drawings that are included with the iPhone s text messaging app, just make sure to upgrade to the latest operating system in order to ensure you have the most recent features.

How to Text on Your iPad If You Don t Own an iPhone

If you don t own an iPhone, there are still plenty of ways you can use your iPad for sending text messages. You can use Apple s service, alternatives to text messaging or one of the many apps that provide free SMS messaging on the iPad.

iMessage. The Messages app can send text messages to anyone that owns an iPhone or iPad even if you don t own an iPhone. The iPad does this using your Apple ID and routes the message based on the email address associated with your Apple ID account. If the recipient doesn t own an iPhone but owns an iPad, they will need to have this feature turned on in settings as well. You can turn this feature on by going to the Settings app, choosing Messages from the left-side menu and tapping Send Receive. The iPad will list the email accounts associated with your Apple ID. Tap to put a check mark next to the email address(es) you want to use.

Facebook Messenger. Sure, we like to pretend those Android people don t exist, but some people simply refuse to get on the Apple train. If you have friends or family using Android or (gasp!) a Windows Phone, you can still easily send them messages using the Facebook Messenger app. With over 1.5 billion users on Facebook, this should be enough to message almost anyone.

Skype. The leading Voice-Over-IP (VoIP) service, Skype allows you to use your iPad much like a phone. In addition to sending text messages, you can send video messages, place phone calls and video conference using the software.

If you want to stay in touch with someone and can t use iMessage or FaceTime because they don t own an iPhone or iPad, Skype is the best alternative.

Snapchat. Believe it or not, Snapchat actually works on the iPad. However, you have to jump through a small hoop to actually install it. Because there is not an official iPad version, when you search for Snapchat in the app store, you will need to search for iPhone Only apps by tapping where it reads iPad Only at the top of the search screen in the App Store and choosing iPhone. Snapchat isn t true text messaging because you can only message people who have signed up for the service, but it offers a fun alternative to traditional text messaging.

AIM. At one point, AOL Instant Messaging (AIM) was one of the most popular messaging services on the Internet. With the rise of social media and so many free ways to send text messages, the old school messaging services have fallen by the wayside. AIM has reinvented itself as a messaging app that also offers free text messaging and is a pretty good alternative for the iPad.

Viber. If you want to know what one of those messaging services would have looked like if it came out today, look no further than Viber. It has all the bells and whistles you would expect in a social messaging service, including Viber Wink, which deletes the message after it is viewed. You can also place phone calls, video calls and get involved in public chats. Viber also supports split-view multitasking. which is pretty cool.

More Free Texting Apps. FreeTone (formerly Text Me) and textPlus both offer free texting to iPad users. It offers users a free phone number capable of sending SMS messages to the US, Canada and 40 other countries around the world. And textPlus is also a great option. Both apps allow phone calls in addition to text messages, but you may need to pay for in-app purchases to use all of their features.

APA-Approved Online Schools with Clinical Psychology Programs

At least 1 year as a full-time resident on campus

Students considering online APA-approved clinical psychology schools must make their decision based on several key factors. American Psychological Association (APA) approval is reserved for traditional, on-campus psychology programs, making fully online APA-approved clinical psychology programs unavailable. However, students can find some APA-approved institutions that offer a few courses online. It’s important to note that, as of 2016, the APA did not approve any fully online clinical psychology programs. A few universities and online colleges do, however, provide some online coursework.

    APA Approval Requirements

The APA only approves doctoral degrees, internships and residencies, and the conditions for program approval prohibit fully online degree programs from gaining APA acceptance. In order to earn APA approval, students must complete two out of the three years at the institution granting the degree and at least one year as a full-time resident. This means that for APA approval to be granted, degrees must be completed at least partially in a traditional format.

    Program Availability

Although fully online programs cannot be APA-approved, the APA has no regulations against the inclusion of some online coursework within an approved program. This is still uncommon, but prospective students may want to check the curricula for the schools they’re considering to see if online options are available for any courses. The APA maintains a list of accredited clinical psychology programs on its website to assist students in researching and choosing a school.

Find schools that offer these popular programs

Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology

Although this program requires a lot of face-to-face clinical training, some APA-approved programs offer foundational courses in the science and theory of psychology in an online format. Since foundational courses are intended to help students acquire a base of knowledge rather than to advance their practical skills, it’s easier to adapt these core classes into an online format.

At some schools, courses might be offered in a hybrid format, incorporating distance-learning technology to make an on-campus course more flexible and accessible. For example, some multi-campus schools use features like video conferencing and online course management systems to synchronously teach students enrolled at different campuses.

Even in programs with online components, students should expect to complete most of their APA-approved clinical psychology training in a traditional, on-campus setting. Examples of class topics that may be offered online include:

    • Social bases of behavior
    • History of psychology
    • Ethics
    • Cognition
    • Teaching methods

Though the American Psychology Association doesn’t accredit any wholly online programs, students who want to study clinical psychology can look for universities that offer some foundational courses online. The APA only accredits doctoral programs and requires students to spend two or three years on campus and complete a full-time residency.

China closes gap with US in hi-tech breakthroughs, KPMG finds

China is now closing the gap with the United States in leading the development of disruptive technology breakthroughs, according to a new survey by KPMG.

The consultancy s latest annual global technology innovation survey, which polled 841 hi-tech industry executives around the world, also identified Shanghai as the city that will rival San Francisco, along with the rest of California s Silicon Valley, as the world s leading technology innovation hub over the next four years.

The survey provides further evidence that the innovation economy in China is being energised by the technology disruptions that are occurring, Tim Zanni, the global and US head of KPMG s technology, media and telecommunications practice, said in an interview with the South China Morning Post. What we ve seen emerge over time is the result of countries and cities striving to replicate and build on Silicon Valley s technology innovation blueprint, and their increasing degree of success.

KPMG s November poll showed a slight uptick for China 25 per cent, compared with 23 per cent in 2016 in the respondents perception of which country showed the most promise for disruptive technology breakthroughs with a global impact.

China s 13th Five-Year Plan has identified innovation as one of the five new tenets of the country s economic and social development.

A recent KPMG survey of China s chief executives identified new product development, big data analysis capabilities, the Internet of Things, machine-to-machine communications and other internet-based technologies as the country s top focus areas for further investment in the next three years.

While it continues to lead in the survey results, the US s ranking has declined to 26 per cent from 29 per cent in the previous year.

Respondents also see India and Britain progressing to become leading global markets for disruptive technologies after China, with forecasts of 11 per cent and 10 per cent, respectively, according to KPMG.

Shanghai, meanwhile, leads New York, Tokyo, Beijing and London in the five highest-ranked cities that survey respondents expect to be the next leading hi-tech innovation hub.

One can debate whether or not replicating Silicon Valley is possible, but the benefits of the effort are undeniable, Zanni said.

In April last year, the State Council of the Chinese government approved a plan for Shanghai to promote comprehensive pilot programmes for innovation reform.

Shanghai, with a population of more than 24 million, is also home to about seven state-level development zones, like the Waigaoquiao Free Trade Zone, and 21 municipal-level development zones.

The city is ranked first overall in the survey as a future technology leader with its strong regional leadership in financial markets and numerous hi-tech parks in Pudong, said Egidio Zarrella, the head of clients and innovation at KPMG China. Many venture capital and private equity firms head first to Shanghai because of the city s very strong fintech start-up community.

Zarrella said he expects Shenzhen to be ranked higher in future surveys as its top brands, such as Huawei Technologies and Tencent Holdings, raised global perception of the city.

DO IT YOURSELF AND SAVE MONEY TODAY

Is the interior of your cars plastic scratched. Having scratches on the interior plastic or vinyl of your car can be ugly. Especially if you are going to be selling it. Many times by moving things in and out of your car, scratching of the plastic interior can occur. There are different methods to repairing and fixing this yourself. Most involve sanding the plastic, painting the plastic, and heating the plastic.

One of the easiest ways to fix this fast is to go to an auto salvage yard and find the same exact car as yours. With any luck you can find the exact piece of door panel plastic in the exact color. We have done this many times with doors, bumpers, mirrors, and dashboards. However, if using an auto salvage yard is not possible, then see below for how to fix this without replacing the plastic.

To repair the scratched plastic on your car interior WITHOUT A KIT:

STEP 1: Clean the plastic surface to remove any dirt or debris.

STEP 2: Using a heat gun. put the heat to about half and warm the scratched surface until it is soft and mushy. NOTE: Make sure you do not overheat the plastic as you WILL burn it.

STEP 3: Apply a grain pad (around $7 dollars) to the plastic surface as this will re-texture the plastic. NOTE: Be careful when doing this step as the plastic will be very HOT!

STEP 4: After applying the grain pad, let the plastic cool and sand with superfine sandpaper to smooth it out if needed.

TIP: If the plastic has faded, you can purchase special types of dyes that are made just for car plastic.

Another way of fixing the scratched plastic is to use a kit. A car interior plastic scratch remover kit will cost around $40 to $50 depending on different factors. The best scratch remover kit we have used is from Scratch Wizard and came with everything needed to fix the scratches in the plastic.

To repair the scratched plastic on your car interior WITH A KIT:

STEP 1: Sand the scratched plastic with 220-240 fine grit sandpaper.

STEP 2: Apply the included activator to the scratch.

STEP 3: Sand again with 220-240 fine grit sandpaper.

STEP 4: Clean with the supplied cleaner.

STEP 5: Apply multiple coats of the factory color matched dye included with the kit.

NOTE: A heat gun accelerates the drying process.

This Scratch Wizard kit can be used on plastic, vinyl, or leather in your car s interior. More info on the kit here .

Steve Hawks is great. I have bought bank owned homes from him. First off the home was closed in a timely manner and the condition was good. Second off, I would love to know how many bank owned homes you have seen. You need to understand all bank homes no matter in what area always need some work. In this economy many people have left these homes, and not in the best conditions. I’ve looked at bank owned homes, even in great areas like anthem, and seven hills. Every home has a different story, and you need to understand how many bank owned homes are out there. You can see from the news its record breaking. Do you expect every bank owned home to have perfect landscaping and no problems, than you are living in a different world. We all can see how long some of these homes stay on the market, and you cannot expect a company to take care of all their foreclosures, pay for landscaping, pay for fixing the whole house up again, and then sell it for the foreclosure price. If the house you wanted was in such a bad condition, why buy it? Why not choose something else? Instead of blaming someone helping you, look for something that fits your needs, and if that is the house you want, then give it some TLC.

When I started looking into a commercial venture, I knew Judy of Asset Realty was the first person I wanted to review my plans. She not only had the answers I needed but located the perfect property for me. Judy didn’t just write the offer and close the deal; she educated me on particulars of the transaction that I might not have ever discovered on my own. Even now some four months after the closing she makes time to answer my questions and makes valid helpful inputs to my plan. Without a doubt, the project she identified for me is the most exciting project of my career. I would tell any current or future client from the nervous first time home buyer to the seasoned real-estate investor, you are in good hands with Asset Realty. They can be trusted to keep your best interest at heart. Judy and her Just Call Judy Team will help many people find their dreams. I know because she helped me find mine. I sincerely appreciate your expertise and support.

Want a great Realtor, I can give you just that. We found Ceci Realty and they delivered 150%. we can’t say enough great things about the company. We worked with Tre and Levy, both great guys, they knew the right way about doing everything we need. They said they would find us a home and that they would also sell our home in Anthem for top dollar, they did that in less than 2 months. Both escrows closed on the same day. They never failed us, they are both truly great business men, and we are thankful to have been given a chance to have become great friends. They did everything that we ask and then some. So if you are selling or buying give this great company a try you will not be disappointed. The owner of the company Gary Ceci, even took the time to stop by our new home to say hello, and make sure everything was fine. This company should be rated a 10+.

Are there any motels with cheap weekly rates in Orange County? #what

    #motels with weekly rates

Timothy Horton. Many people have cell phones with wifi connection capability

Thank you for asking me the question but since I live in the Orange county area, actually Corona, I typically do not need a motel to lodge in. My suggestion is just get online and search for weekly rates but don t rule out Rooms for rent . You might someone that is in need of money and even a few hundred dollars would be helpful to them. However, if you do find a room versus a hotel or motel, your privacy and the security of personal items would be a concern.

I do travel a little and normally to Sacramento. I am also on a tight budget and since I an a male, not a small one lol, I have less fear of staying in a one star facility than a woman probably would. and I don t blame them a bit. But I have also stayed at nicer places and had some security and safety issues.

Typically in OC, the lessor rates are still $200.00 plus a week and taxes and weird charges. So, if you find a place that has weekly specials, make sure to verify, confirm, lock down the total costs. The little nickel and dime extra fees can add up in a hurry. I do remember seeing some motel weekly room specials adjacent to the 55 Freeway in Costa Mesa, I believe was less than $200.00 per week. There are a few inexpensive motels in Costa Mesa, just be a little extra careful in that area.

One more possibility. I don t know if you are a person of faith in a specific denomination, but another consideration would be a kind hearted same denominational person willing to put you up for your visit. Don t be shy! I am a Seventh Day Adventist and I would have no problem finding the closest Adventist Church, in the area I would be staying in, and contacting the Church to see if they have a bulletin board with room listings or the pastor might even know of someone that could benefit by your stay.

When I travel, business of pleasure, as long as the room is clean, the plumbing works and the bed is not a concrete slab I am good with it. Of course. gotta have WiFi.

    Why We re the Best

Experience like no other. Repairing and constructing over 7,000+ foundations. We know homes.

There are a lot of companies offering foundation repair in the Los Angeles area. How do you know which one is best? We believe experience should be the deciding factor. Julian Construction was formed in 1994, and our focus has always been on building foundations, doing repair, replacement, earthquake retrofitting and house leveling. We have inspected over 16,500 foundations .

If you also talk to another foundation contractor, ask how long they have been doing foundation repair. Not how long they have been in business. But how long they have been doing foundation work. There are some contractors in the LA area who have been doing foundation work for a year or less. Would you trust the safety of your home to them?

When the safety of your home and family are at stake, we think you ll want to go with Julian, the company that has been working under homes for nearly 20 years.

100% expert oversight. From start to finish, licensed and expert managers oversee all projects, ensuring perfection, timeliness and safety.

HOSPICE WITH HEART PATIENT CELEBRATES 87TH BIRTHDAY AS A CASINO VIP

Thanks, KETV NewsWatch 7 for this great story about our birthday girl, Melva and to Horseshoe Casino Council Bluffs for treating her like royalty! Melva has a longstanding tradition of celebrating her birthday with her daughters at Horseshoe Casino and nothing – not even a terminal diagnosis – was going to stop her from enjoying her beloved penny slot machines and buffet bread pudding. With some help from our team and Foundation, Melva “broke out” of her room at our Hospice House for a few hours Saturday for a trip to the casino with her family.

    EXCITING NEWS.

On October 28, 2014, Hospice with Heart joined a fellow non-profit hospice company, HCI Care Services of Iowa (formerly Hospice of Central Iowa) out of Des Moines, Iowa. In recent years, changes in the hospice industry have posed challenges – especially for smaller, mission-focused providers such as Hospice With Heart. By joining HCI Care Services of Iowa, Hospice With Heart will benefit from the organization’s strength and infrastructure. The team will receive support from HCI staff in Accounting, Human Resources, Materials Management Facilities, Business Development Communications, as well as clinical expertise from their chief medical officer, Clinical Practice director and chief nurse, and their staff ARNPs. Hospice with Heart will continue to provide quality services with the same name and the same caring staff but will benefit from the experience and support of HCI. More information to come.

The Present Value of the Tax Shield (PVTS) for FCF in Perpetuity With Growth

Duke University – Duke Center for International Development in the Sanford School of Public Policy

    Date Written: December 2002

    Abstract

The discount rate for the tax shield depends on the risk of the tax shield. If the tax shield is risk-free, then the appropriate discount rate for the tax shield is the risk-free rate rf. If the debt is risky, then we must make the distinction between the contractual return and the expected return on the debt.

In this paper, using a simple numerical example, we illustrate the calculation of the present value of the tax shield (PVTS) for a free cash flow (FCF) in perpetuity with a constant growth rate g. We assume that the tax shield is risk-free and the debt is risky. Most importantly, we model explicitly the risk of the tax shield and the debt with a stochastic process.

In addition, the net incomes for the unlevered and levered firms are not equal to the corresponding cash flows for the unlevered and levered firms. Consequently, the discount rates for the taxes paid by the unlevered and levered firms are not equal to the return to unlevered equity Ku and the return to levered equity Ke, respectively. Without a specific stochastic process, it would not be possible to calculate the discount rates for the taxes paid by the unlevered and levered firms.

UK businesses reluctant to switch to electric fleet vehicles

UK businesses reluctant to switch to electric fleet vehicles

Wednesday 16 June 2010 09.01 BST First published on Wednesday 16 June 2010 09.01 BST

Despite growing commitments from car manufacturers and the UK government to create an electric car infrastructure, businesses in the UK remain wary of investing in electric fleet cars, according to a new report by Corporate Vehicle Observatory.

The independent research, sponsored by Arval, a company car fleet operator, claims that compared to fleets in 13 other countries, UK company fleets are likely to show the slowest uptake of electric vehicles over the next three years.

The poll compared feedback from UK company fleet decision makers with those from their peers in 13 other countries. A total of 3,500 fleet decision makers were surveyed from Belgium, Brazil, The Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey.

Less than 30% of larger businesses in the UK questioned in the poll were planning to introduce electric vehicles compared to 61% opting for hybrids. For small to medium sized companies, the figures were lower with only 12% considering electric vehicles compared to 26% planning to introduce hybrids.

Reasons cited by companies for the lack of electric car take up included worries over the limited number of recharge points, concerns that the cars would be too difficult to run over longer distances and would be too costly to buy in the first place and doubts over the vehicles’ overall green credentials over time.

The UK government has pushed for an electric car network in an attempt to revive the country’s car manufacturing industry and lower transport emissions. Policies have included introducing regional electric car networks in the North East, London and Milton Keynes, as well as a £5,000 government subsidy on the cost of buying an electric car – a measure introduced under the previous Labour government which may be pulled under the new Conservative-Lib Dem coalition.

Car manufacturer Nissan recently committed to manufacturing electric cars at a new UK plant, based in Sunderland, from 2013 and plans its UK launch of the electric Nissan Leaf car in February next year.

    Interest from Chinese companies

The Leaf will cost just under £30,000, £10,000 more than its hybrid competitor, the Toyota Prius. However, manufacturers, including Nissan, PSA Peugeot Citroen and Mitsubishi, are in a race to sell electric cars on the mass market, partly fuelled by EU legislation encouraging companies to produce electric cars to offset the emissions of the manufacturers’ higher emission vehicles. Chinese companies will soon be in on the act too, bringing the possibility of lower prices and improved technology for electric cars, according to Peter Wells, director of the Centre for Automotive Industry Research at Cardiff Business School.

Build Your Dream. a Chinese automobile manufacturer based in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, grew from a battery company to a car manufacturer and, with its “high sophisticated” knowledge of batteries, will be battling with European and Japanese manufacturers to gain ground in the European electric car market, says Wells.

Companies’ concerns, revealed in the fleet survey, over the environmental credentials of electric cars are yet to be resolved as car companies have not been forthcoming with figures showing the overall carbon footprints of their electric cars, including the manufacturing stage. There are also disputes over the EU’s acceptance of electric cars as ‘zero-carbon’, a ranking which excludes the carbon emitted at the electricity production stage.

Peter Wells dismisses rumours circulated last year that over the entire lifecycle of the car, the Hummer came out as better for the environment than the Prius. but a spokesman for the Campaign for Better transport told Guardian Sustainable Business that the organisation was concerned that “[electric and hybrid] car makers will be getting parts from around the world [to manufacture batteries]” and called on electric car manufacturers to reveal the overall carbon impacts of their vehicles.

The transport campaign is also keen to stress that sustainable transport means putting less cars on the road by encouraging alternatives, such as cycling and public transport.

The car fleet report showed a similar appetite amongst UK businesses to decrease car use, with its conclusion that “there is an appetite for car pooling and sharing emerging over the next three years”.

Top 10 Cleaning Uses for Baking Soda! Clean My Space, drain cleaning

Top 10 Cleaning Uses for Baking Soda!

It would blow your mind just how many things you can clean using simple baking soda.Yup, that little box of white powder that sits in your fridge can do a lot more than sit, in the fridge. So, what the heck is this baking soda stuff anyways?

“Sodium bicarbonate or sodium hydrogen carbonate is the chemical compound with the formula NaHCO3. Sodium bicarbonate is a white solid that is crystalline but often appears as a fine powder. It has a slightly salty, alkaline taste resembling that of washing soda (sodium carbonate). The natural mineral form is nahcolite. It is a component of the mineral natron and is found dissolved in many mineral springs.

Since it has long been known and is widely used, the salt has many related names such as baking soda, bread soda, cooking soda, and bicarbonate of soda. In colloquial usage, its name is shortened to sodium bicarb, bicarb soda, or simply bicarb. The word saleratus, from Latin sal æratus meaning aerated salt, was widely used in the 19th century for both sodium bicarbonate and potassium bicarbonate. The term has now fallen out of common usage.”

In other words, it’s a type of salt that is made by mixing two naturally occurring and very safe compounds together: sodium carbonate and carbon dioxide.

It is so versatile that it has uses in cooking, cleaning, medicine, personal hygiene, and putting out grease fires.

So, just for you, my dear, dear friends – I have assembled a list of 10 great cleaning uses for baking soda!

10 Scrub away marks on your wall.

To do this, simply make a 50/50 paste of baking soda and water and find any scuff mark or crayon art on your painted wall, gently rub in and wipe away. You’ll see the marks are gone!

9 Use it as an underarm deodorant.

Simply apply a pinch under dry arms and even the worst body odour will be trapped and dominated by baking soda. Don’t believe me, try it! Just be sure to do it well after you have shaved, or else the granules can cause irritation (it did for me).

8 Clean and even unclog your smelly sink.

When mixed with vinegar, baking soda can cut through almost anything. Add a cup of baking soda to any drain, let it sit for an hour. Then, boil 2 cups of vinegar and dump it down the drain, run hot water and your drain will not smell anymore, it s pretty fantastic.

    7 Clean your grout.

Just take some baking soda, sprinkle it on a grout line, spray with water and leave the baking soda to sit for 10 or so minutes. Then, scrub the grout clean using a cleaning toothbrush, or even using a regular toothbrush. Wipe away the remaining powder and voila, the cleanest grout on the block.

6 Add abrasion to any cleaning solution.

Adding baking soda to any other cleaning solution creates abrasion and replaces products like VIM and Comet. Think about using the 50/50 mix of vinegar and dish liquid, throwing some baking soda on top of that and having a product that could battle almost any store-bought product. Here s our video on making your own cleaning products!

    5 Deodorize the kitty litter.

If you have a litterbox, you understand how painfully smelly it can get! If you want some great maintenance tips and a no-foolin litterbox routine, check this blog post out. To deodorize the litterbox, simply sprinkle some baking soda into the litter box every time to change it to ensure that everything is kept smelling fresh and clean.

4 Clean your non self-cleaning oven.

If your oven doesn’t clean itself, give the inside a quick spray down with vinegar, toss baking soda overtop and let it sit for 30 minutes. Start scrubbing and you’ll see that no caustic products are required here, baking soda will take care of this tough job on its own.

3 Wash build-up out of your hair.

If you are a hair product junkie, every couple of weeks try this trick. Add a tablespoon of baking soda to your shampoo (I place some in a tissue and add it in after I’ve squeezed out the shampoo) and proceed to wash your hair with baking soda. It scrubs out all the gunk from products and clarifies the hair. The results are amazing!

    2 Deodorize your carpets.

If you have a ‘smell’ when you walk in to your home, it’s likely because your carpets (which are like sponges), absorb a lot of dirt, dust, dead skin cells, odours and the like.

If you take a box of baking soda and sprinkle it over your carpets, then vacuum it up 30 minutes later, your room will be deodorized. Your vacuum will also get a clean treatment as a bonus!

1 Baking soda is a great laundry booster.

It helps brighten and deodorize clothing. The next time you do a load of laundry, add in a cup of baking soda and see if you notice the difference. I love this trick!

There you have it – 10 of the 46,972 ways you can clean with baking soda – you’re welcome.

If you have any top secret uses for baking soda – share them below.

    Lubbock Hotels And Motels

Reasonably priced and clean, near to Texas Tech. Rooms are small, and the bathroom inconveniently small (the tub and toilet are in a closet next to the sink area). In our room, the bathtub drained slowly. Room has basic cable and adequate wifi. There’s only one set of elevators at one end of the building and both cars make slightly alarming noises and slightly lurch when they start. The breakfast is uninspired: bagels, toast, cereal, plastic-packaged muffins, and hot waffles (in the shape of Texas!). Front desk staff was very friendly and engaged, although I had no real problems to test them with. The two maids I talked to were also very friendly and helpful.

    Nice place to stay

On a trip to San Antonio I stopped here for the night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay there and found the room to be very clean and very well maintained. I highlty recommend this place. I found other motels on my trip that were more expensive and not as clean or as well maintained. I laso found other motels that were comparable in price that were not as clean or as well maintained too. For the price and location, this is the place to stay.

I reallenjoyed my stay at this holtel. It was very clean, quiet and comfortable for the price. I have spent allot more for similar rooms. I will stay there again next time i am in the area for sure!!
